@2legsshrt

Pat, read just only a bit of what's happening because I am having a difficult time reading. Had cataract surgery yesterday.

Oh my. I hope as the day progresses you keep improving.

Her besides the RA she fell down the stairs in around 2000 causing a problem where the nerve to her right legs was pinched and pain all the time. She had surgery and they opened the hole that the nerve runs through in around 2003 finally after about 8 years it was getting worse again she went to see another surgeon the one she had retired and he said he didn't think he could fix it this time and might make it worse so he didn't want to do it. The injections are kind of a scary thing also where they inject a steroid and anasthetic directly to the affected nerve using a fluoroscope to pinpoint where the needle is if it works it will last a couple of months and they do it again if it still works they inject something in on the 3rd time to kill the nerve. There can also be some pretty bad side effects with that including paralyzation which is rare but so is what happened to me.

That's scary. What about getting another opinion?

Love that one. Mike and I both laughed out loud!

Hi all! Thanks for the kind words. The saga started 9 months ago when DH had a physical and his BP and cholesterol were up. He had stress test, then a nuclear stress test and echo cardiogram, and finally catheterization (via the wrist). They found that the vessel known as 'the widow maker' was 100% blocked. Fortunately, another blood vessel decided to take a road trip and connect below the blockage and it's enough that they don't recommend a bypass. The bad news is he also has an aortic aneurysm. It's below critical size but needs to be monitored. He's on a mix of meds, basically standard protocol, but he has side effects of dizziness, lighteadedness etc. He monitors his BP (obsessively!!) so it doesn't seem like that's crashing and causing the problem. They tried changing the timing of when he takes his meds but that didn't help. I've been nagging him to call the doc and he's FINALLY seen the light and has an appointment next week. I'm hoping he's just not reacting well to the drugs (typical DH) and it's not another problem. We have a good cardiologist so I'm comfortable with that at least.

My TN meds can put me into a fog and play brain games. I'm having a flare up and am avoiding calling the doc. I'm at the max dose of the drug I'm on and another was toxic to my liver. The next step is just trying different ones to see if they help. Unfortunately, the class of drugs recommended generally send me into a zombie state for a week or better. With the added responsibilities at work and DH's condition, I don't dare go there right now. UGH.

And wasn't March supposed to go out like a lamb? Get that white stuff off my lawn! We're in the 4-6" projections for snow
I have a 100% blockage in an artery, too. It's the left Subclavian artery that goes from the heart to the brain & then into the left arm. Like your hubby I also have a natural bypass. Mine is called Subclavian Steal Syndrome. That little vein "steals blood from another artery & carries it where it's supposed to go. I have no symptoms that anything is wrong at all.

Thanks Legs. He's 66 and close to retiring. I am sympathetic to his fears. His sister died of an aortic aneurysm when she was 44 so that scares the crap out of him. Plus, he was the healthy one in his family, playing tennis 1-2 hrs/day several times a week, not taking any meds etc., before it all came to an abrupt halt. It's a difficult adjustment for him. But even the nurse at the drs office gently teased him - you don't need to take your BP each time you pee (ok, that's my exaggeration, but you get the idea!) Our BP monitor loads to his iPhone and he brings a printout with him to the appointment so they can see the trend and how many times a day he checks it. Plus when he takes his BP at the club using the machine we have there, he takes a picture of it  His BP is good, usually right in the zone his doc wants which is why I think the problem is the side effects of the drugs.

He really doesn't do FB but I may go looking for support groups so I can help him or be prepared. The TN one makes me feel like I'm lucky. The stories and pain are so much worse than my mine and I get good info too.

Iffy, hugs to you & yours. You've had quite the journey too.
I wish I could get my Mother to check her bp 2x a day consistantly! She just randomly stops doing it at all.

And get thee hence to your Dr, too, Miss Missy!

Does this apply to anyone else here? LOL
I need to learn how to resize photos. They're either too big or too small.

Lol! I usually take all my meds at night. I somtimes take a pain pill or Celebrex during the day. There is one stinking med that I only take once a week, & I can tell within a few days if I forget it, by then it's because I start hurting. Then the med has to catch up & that takes a week at least. You'd think Fridays would stick in my head! Nope!

Lovely flight and one of my favorite songs! In fact, the first two bars of Fur Elise are what I have as Patty's ring tone...

I'm so close to being able to read the text on that graphic, but just can't make it out.

Back in my piano-lesson days I could play Fur Elise reasonably well, but I'll be danged if the meter ever made complete sense to me. How many times to play the E to Eb eighth notes, in six eight time if I remember correctly, remains a mystery to me to this day.

Yeah, I don't go to that much trouble. People either post things in sufficient size or they don't. I've got reasonably good eyes and I'm looking at it on a 27" monitor and still can't read it.

Yeah that pic reminds me of what we used to do to those poor little babies when I worked at a chicken hatchery.
