Just went out and got a Black Widow spider for Ginny. We sure have a lot of em here. I don't think I have ever seen one in the house they are always in the garage.

Have you tried the Terro spider traps? Do they work for Black Widows? Just wondering.

We live in a subdivision with wildlife and insects. The Terro sticky traps do a great job if you put them in the right path.

IDK I don't think the spiders have a certain path. They just build a web which seems to really do the trick. They catch all kinds of stuff. They can be pretty quick too for their size.

We had Garden Spiders back when we lived on lakefront property. They were big and scary, but the bite wasn't supposed to be harmful to humans. They built some huge webs.

If I never see a Black Widow I'll be a happy guy. That said, the articles on BW bites say that death is very uncommon among healthy individuals, but can occur rarely in small children, animals, and the elderly. The key is to get to a Doc-in-the-Box quickly for some anti-venom. They also say that they rarely bite unless provoked strongly. They are more likely to flee than attack. That's comforting.

Not quite true that they don't bite unless strongly provoked...;) Years ago when we lived in Moses Hole (Moses Lake) black widows were rampant in the area, and....my mother was bit on her upper lip while sound asleep...It didn't kill her, but it was swollen to almost the size of a baseball and required her to go to the emergency room.

Yikes, yeah they are really shy all they have to do is see a shadow and they hide. You have to be fast to squish them. I don't know that I've ever seen a male, the female kills them after mating. Females are easy to spot, after I kill them I check their stomach and sure enough theres that red hour glass. Females are considerably bigger then the males.

It is also a common effect of cutting out opoids. You may think you are off but your body still craves them. I am finding out I have pains I never knew I had. But I'm doing it. The state would rather have me in pain then to be on opoids. Now my knees are starting to bother me and I have only gone down the equivilent of 50mg of morphine. Actually 60mg which is quite a bit but have a long way to go. Can't wait to see what else hurts.
Everything hurts but, not as bad as i thought it would. We bought an recumbent exercise bike and I'm pedalling about 5 miles a day trying to strengthen the muscles around my knees.

Yeah so far it's just my knees which makes it a little more difficult to walk. When I get far enough with this I'm going to try to talk my doc into getting me on fast acting 10mg oxycontin so I can get away from all this Tylenol. Don't have any idea what it has done to me over the years. I know I won't be able to be completely without them and that would be a good alternative.

Tylenol doesn't do anything for me and is horrible for the liver. It isn't an anti-inflammatory like the Nsaids. Of course it's all im allowed to take so I don't bother. Had a couple of ulcers and the gut doc said don't take Motrin (my drug of choice) at all.

Yeah I know that and what they have been giving me for 8 years are Hydro and they contain 325mg er tablet and I'm usually at 7 or 8 a day. I can't take NSAIDS either. I was down to 6 but then I started backing off n the patches.

Yeah, a couple weeks and I settled in to the lower amount. I always dropped less that 25-30%, though. Life just got back to normal, I would stay until the juice got low and then buy lower. Piece of cake.
Ahhh you are talking about nic right?

Your right they need to switch you to low dose oxy. Your still addicted but at least you don't kill the liver. I was taking 2 or 3 ten mg quick release a day and my knees mostly felt ok.
