I had a bad bought of ear infections years ago and my GP ask me how I dried my ears. Told him with a towel. He told me to use Q tips but to be careful. Haven't had an ear infection since. Swear by it. Don't worry, if you push it in too far you'll know it!:shock::shock::lol:
Jup, I use em too, but like you said, just gotta be careful. I know it can push ear wax down into the ear, so I try to go kinda to the side. One of these days I need to get one of those flush kits and try that just in case there is wax pushed down.

I went through a period of getting water blockages in my ears, which made it really difficult to hear and even affected my balance I think.
Jup. I had an ear infection when I was about 8 or 10 from swimming, but further down in the canal than swimmer's ear they said. It messed up the equilibrium fluid and threw my balance off. It's been that way since. So I do have a reason for being so clumsy. :D I have often wondered if that's what caused me to have vertigo.

They don't care about that. The only way you can qualify for the Choice is to be physically unable to travel otherwise your SOL as of about a month ago. I have a good supplement to my Medicare that covers everything Medicare doesn't so thats what I'll have to use. Theres just too much involved in doing the commute thing. I need Ginny with me as a caregiver
The purple portions sounds to me like problem solved. You are physically unable to travel by yourself! You shouldn't have to provide a caregiver. Don't even tell em you have one...... you are unable to do it on your own, period.

The pilot's oxygen mask is designed to allow the pilot to pinch the nose.
oh kewl.......didn't know that. That or yawning is always a good relief on a plane. I try yawning first, if that don't work, pinch and blow

Some memories and inspirations
Great songs........welcome to the porch!

OH! These arrived yesterday https://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-Trekking-Survival-Poles-Pair/35395533 I am ecstatic. Will be building up my walking distance gradually. Walked around the block yesterday, furthest in several months.

They don't feel that way. To them it means PTSD or combat related injury, possibly blind. I would've thought so also but they said no go. They don't seem to undertand that I just can't pack a suitcase and head out. I am going to talk to them tomorrow but they seem to be really tight on it, if the govt would have added somemore money to the pot it would've made the diff or if this would've come up a month ago before Congress put this rule in. I've thought of writing the Congress woman for this area who she helped my neigbor but I don't really want to wait while the gears move slowly. I need to find out whats what fairly quickly. I'll give them one more try like I say tomorrow.

With HA's, it may be the opposite, people complain a lot about fungus. I probably should do some research. Being unsteady on my feet, I HAVE to be sitting down when I use the q-tip!

That is great you were able to get the walking sticks. I have a single walking stick that I use sometimes. Mine also has the spike on the bottom and if you unscrew the wood knob on mine it has a screw for using as a camera support. It even has a V adapter for using as a steady stick for resting a rifle out hunting.

Wow, sounds like it does everything for you except make coffee!!! I mostly use a cane, but when we walk on trails I use one of those walking sticks. Mine just has a kind of a grabber on the end so it is slip proof - worthless on concrete...

These have a rubber boot on the bottom, you can remove that boot, and there is a spike for snow, ice, and mud. It then has a "basket" that you can put on upside down, to prevent it from going too deep. I will be using one for most times, but both of them for longer walks. So much cooler than a walker. There is a guy at church with a low back injury who walks with the long arm crutches. His wife nudged him when I walked in this morning. :D Wearing a (possibly) permanent invisible sock on my right foot does horrible things to my sense of balance-- neighbor says I walk a lot smoother. Really wasn't aware of how often I almost lose it.

It's great to hear you talking about something that is working so well for you. May the novelty not wear off!

For me it's not that bad although they have been following my lungs for 3 years and now have to make sure that all the records get transferred to the right people in a timely manner, but what about the guys who don't have Medicare they don't have this option and they depend on this. The Social Worker toldme of people that have a bad retirement and don't have a good supplement and just can't afford to do this or pay the co pays involved with Medicare and were depending on the VA choice program, for them it is either find a way to travel or forget about getting the care you need. I guess the Wall is more important. Plus many of them don't even qualify for having the travel paid for or the hotel and they can't afford to do it.

Heres Ginny's latest project. It's been keeping her busy and her mind off of all the crap going on. A lot of work.

We are binge watching Wicked Tuna. Was watching the last season on the NatGeo app by way of Vue which I cancelled but have a couple weeks left on. We were getting really sick of the commercials so thought I would check one of the unmentionable addons on Kodi and every season is available with no commercials. Think I might watch yesterdays race if its available on FS2 while I have it, even though I know who wins. I think it is Truex's year. He's really doing great this year.

It's kinda funny this one guy that decided he would tuna fish using an airplane to spot them then get on top and harpoon them got his fish confiscated because the law is they have to be caught on a pole. And besides that so far he has gotten small fish and super low quality only getting like $7 a pound while others are getting up to $28 a pound. Don't pay to cheat.

Mike must be working hard on Janet's chores - he hasn't posted today... Keep it up Mike...

Spent the whole day by the pool with Michael, Rachel, Miles and Beckett. Well except for time out for grilling and eating. Let's see if PB still lets me post a photo or 2.

(well looks like pictures are still 'linking' from PB, just don't know how long. I got another email from PB saying: "Looks like you have the wrong subscription, please update to a PLUS plan" )

Edit: Nope pictures not 'linking'. In the post preview they show up, but not in the actual post.

So glad these are working for you! Has to give you a new sense of independence and freedom!

As of this morning, Tukii ( my kittycat) has officially become a mouser...I stumbled outa the bedroom, went to the counter for my first cup of coffee...and almost stepped on a dead mouse!:w00t:...got my coffee and went in the living room... so she brought the mouse in there and proceeded to "play" with it, doing all kinds of gymnastic moves:D I guess she wanted to impress me with her Ninja skills and also let me know that she wasn't just adorable, but she earns her keep!

She got a full tbs. of moist food instead of the usual half of one...
That just made me smile....lil Tukii is earning her keep!

That was just too too cute! Love those videos!
