Anybody heard from Iffy lately? He hasn't been on the back porch since Sat. night. Sure hope everything in RL is OK for him!. I mean... who here doesn't have an affinity for the (not-so) old phart?!?! He sure helped me in my early vape days! Likely, I wouldn't be here (having quit cigs) without him... and I'll never forget that.
When ya get it back, just PM Geno!

Well, if you're having two desserts, why not one of each??
Although I've been conflicted many times in my life, I've never been stupid. I had one of each, two of the one and two of the other many times.

OK, my last post got 'likes' from two other Porch "old timers" (y'all forgive me for that :D) that were also very instrumental in my sticking with ecigs in the early days. I won't even get into naming other names, but... y'all know who you are... ;)

I lost more than 60 pounds of weight in between 8th and 10th grades, even as my height was increasing by over half a foot. My lunch at school during that time often consisted of a container of cottage cheese, a can of Metrecal, or both, that I'd brought from home.

My youngest son lives in Vidor, my oldest son lives in North Houston a little burg called Spring. The oldest won't spend the night in Vidor. His wife is Hispanic and the town does not like any kind of mixed marriage. When we lived in Deweyville, about 12 or 15 miles east of Vidor, Vidor was the center for an organization that has 3Ks in it. I will not say how I know that information.

I find one thing very interesting. Look at any town and the size of the elementary classes. Then look at the graduating high school graduating class. There is a big disconnect somewhere. What happened to the elementary class of kids when it comes time to graduate high school. From what I have seen, there are about 1/3 of the children missing and more in some cases.

I don't blame your son at all. Vidor, Jasper, & Orange. Anything east of Beaumont all the way to the border is horrible. Everyone knows the history there, it's not a secret, but so embedded you'd think it was in their dna & not just what they were raised to believe. Just a horrible, shameful place.

I didn't just "like" this, I LOVED IT!!! Freakin' HILARIOUS!!! There's tears rolling down my cheeks!!! Thank you Debadoo!!!

Dave, remain calm, help is on the way. Are there any porchers near Dave that I've shared with that might be able to satiate his inquiring taste buds??? Just remember, Dave, once you get the first taste for free, you're gonna be hooked and then it's gonna cost ya. [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38]

I'm also a cheesecake fanatic but I probably shouldn't go down that road. Although, I did whip up a real nice Amaretto Cheese Cake Vape juice the other day and will probably do a Cherry, Strawberry, Chocolate and maybe even a pineapple one too! Oh crap! Wrong porch again! [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38]

BigBells, You make it SO HARD to behave. :D :D :D

lmao! yur as easily amused as I am then, maybe more! lol Can't believe you'd never heard that.

love cheesecake too.......and I might like a flavored cheesecake vape, but for eating, it has to be plain thick NY style cheesecake with a slight lemony flavor. Maybe a little bit of blueberry, or lemon sauce on the side. That's it.
Cherries!

Just tell us how to make flapjacks with sour dough, @Von Vape.

Also, the Back Porch is never the wrong porch.
Well, the Flap Jacks, Jonny Cakes, Ho Cakes, Pancakes are kind of a "The Chicken & The Egg Thing", Dave. First you have to have the starter. o_O As those I've shared with can attest, that's quite a process in and of itself. Once you have that, the Flap Jacks are a piece of cake (har, har). If you're still interested, LMK though. ;)

GOOD FOR YOU Rotowoman!!! You've given a tremendous amount of yourself to "the company" and I'm sure it's appreciated but there is such a thing as "me time" too and you ESPECIALLY deserve it! That was a when it rains it pours end to your day! That's for sure. Nope, loose bits and blisters on rotors don't mix well with whirly birds! That's a definite too! Kind of a good jab at the maintenance crew to keep up with fuel levels too. They found out the hard way that it's better to keep diesels fueled up than to have to go through the re-priming. I bet there was a lot of grumbling going on through that process, not to mention a lot of cursing. Serves 'em right! ;)

?

oops...I wasn't asking for bread when I replied that I wanted a slice !
I thought it was all in funnin'

I knew you were, Classy. ;) I was too. Fed Ex-ing anything, anywhere, from Alaska is incredibly exorbitant.
I prepared a Filet Mignon with a Beef Wellington Mushroom puree and Bacon wrap to send to our friends in Switzerland for Christmas one year and had about $30 wrapped up in the product and preparation. Got it all vacuum bagged, frozen and boxed and headed to Fed Ex only to find out that it would cost $130 to ship it 3 day (I don't know what ever happened to "When it absolutely, positively has to be there over night!") and they couldn't even absolutely, positively guarantee that. Needless to say, IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!

GOOD MORNING ALL!!!

BING, BING, BING!!! Bouncing off of every wall in the house! LOL!

Well, doesn't really have all that much espresso in it, although the sugar may have a similar effect!

And here you go!

Chocolate Espresso Cheesecake

3 - 8 oz packages cream cheese
1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate wafers (about 26)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted (use margarine at your own risk!)
2 - 6 oz packages semisweet chocolate pieces
2 tablespoons instant espresso coffee (we us the Medaglia d'Oro brand)
2 tablespoons hot water
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
3 eggs
2 egg yolks
1 cup heavy cream

1: Let the cream cheese soften to room temperature in a large bowl
2: Blend the chocolate wafer crumbs, sugar and melted butter. Press firmly over the bottom and half-way up the sides of a lightly buttered 9 inch spring form pan. Chill briefly before filling.
3: Melt chocolate in a double boiler over hot (NOT boiling) water. Dissolve the espresso in two tablespoons of hot water.
4: Beat the cream cheese (electric mixer is fine, on medium speed) just until smooth. Add sugar gradually, beating just until light and fluffy. Sprinkle flour over mixture and blend thoroughly. Add eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each addition.
5: Beat in melted chocolate, dissolved espresso and cream, and blend at LOW speed. Pour into prepared and chilled pan.
6: Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Turn off oven heat and let cake remain in oven with door closed for about 40 minutes more.
7: Remove from oven, let cool completely on a wire rack. Refrigerate several hours, or if you have the self-control, overnight. (Good luck with that!)
8: Loosen cake around the edges with a metal spatula, remove the side of the spring form pan.

Serve at room temperature, but keep unused portion refrigerated.

May be garnished with whipped cream rosettes, chocolate curls, etc

Serves 16 to 20

You all will be so proud of me. I was asked a few days ago if I would work some over time at another base. I politely declined!! Yay me!!
Very proud of you!!! Keep it up for awhile!!!

It's been interesting to say the least!! I LOVE my job!
Wow.......glad they found that stuff.........and jup, bet the fuelers don't forget again!

I'm not wanting to start a back and forth on this. Statistics are easily manipulated to support whatever point(s) the statisticians are being paid to bolster - as we've all seen a zillion times :).
Exactly!!!

@Debadoo, clearly you're a woman who knows good cheesecake! Shortbread crust, dense cake, gated lemon peel on top. Bliss!

@Danousa, that Kevin Spacey clip was wonderful! How does he do that?! Great actor, too. I can hear other people's voices in my head (now, now. Don't say it! :)), but couldn't in a million years impersonate them.
Jup!!! When we finally do get to meet, we'll celebrate with cheesecake!!!! And probably a few other things!

I can't do impressions either.......or even imitate accents. I've tried and tried to do even simple accents, and just can't do it. I hear it, but can't do it. Drawing the same way. I can see clearly what I wanna draw, but my hand/arm does whatever it wants to lol

Even a cat can do it

That was priceless! I've seen the vid many times, but it was a great response!

Excuse me for busting in on your conversation, but it was killing me not to suggest Dell. Buy the warranty where they come to your home for repairs, it's worth it. They usually have sales this time of year; request a catalog. You can customize your PC anyway you like, and they sell all sizes.
No such thing as bustin in missy ma'am! You're a porcher, and entitled to jump into any conversation here ya want. If someone wants to keep a conversation private that's what Pm's are for!

It would surely save me a lot of research time if i could get a short-list of current favorite BF attys that can do single-coil with lots of air.... anyone?
(((((((Geno))))))))) <proud look> hehehe I'm currently loving the derringer. It's not big air like some cloud chasing big air, but I think it's pretty good. I didn't like it in single coil, but I haven't liked anything I've tried in single coil mode. You can do it single or double, which is good, in case you later decide you want to do doubles. I've got things saved at FT, but I'm not certain of exactly what to get, so I'm gonna page @Paramaniac413 and ask her to come put up links and tell ya exactly what ya need for it. Others may have better suggestions. Also the Rm2 is supposedly a great flavor atty, and you can certainly quite easily bore or drill the airhole out much bigger, cuz it comes with a teeny airhole. Dunno if you can get that at FT or not, but they're not budget, about 43.00 from Rob. Wish I'd known, I just sold one for 30.00

This is also a great place to ask, you'll get lots of help from folks just as friendly as the porchers
The Reonauts new lounge

Thinking about you all and feeling guiltt for nit checking in more often.
don't feel guilty darlin.....right now your priority is getting stuff done and getting moved and settled in. I hate you have all that to do with no help though. (well cept Doree of course). We miss ya, but just let us know once in awhile that you're ok and give us a progress report like you're doing. (((((Matt and Doree)))))

He posted on FP last night and I talked to him in the h/o the other day. He's doin good. But he does need to be more chatty!!! hehehe At some point I may holler at ya for some help on my son's puter if ya don't mind, but you're way too busy for me to send it to ya like you offered, but I appreciate the offer sooooooo much!!! and glad you're back with us. We miss ya when yur not here!

Cherries!
I do like em, but that is usually too heavy for me for cheesecake. Covers the cheesecake flavor too much!

Chocolate espresso cheesecake.... :hubba:
no no no no no but.......I did save yur recipe in case I need to make one for someone else. lol I'm just a cheesecake purist. As much as I love chocolate......and chocolate espresso, just don't want it in my cheesecake!

Try it, you'll like it!

Or, a more "traditional" style my mom used to make:

CHEESECAKE
STEP 1

1-1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup melted margarine

Mix well. Press into 1 spring cake pan or 2 pie pans
Bake for 5 minutes at 375

STEP 2
16 oz soft cream cheese
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cream with mixer until very smooth.
Pour over crust.
Bake 20 minutes at 375 ( only 15 minutes if in pie pan ).
Remove from oven, set oven at 475, and cool cake for 10 minutes.

STEP 3

1 pint sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Beat well.
Pour on top of cake, sprinkle with crust mix
Bake 10 minutes at 475.
Cool in refrigerator or freezer.

You all will be so proud of me. I was asked a few days ago if I would work some over time at another base. I politely declined!! Yay me!! Besides, after this hitch has been going, I would be too whopped to do anything at another base.

This has been the wildest hitch we have had in quite some time, but that's how the business goes. After all, we have been on the better side of quiet for quite a few months now. On our first day back, one of the guys discovered something really loose on a daily inspection. That would up having the whole aircraft torn apart, and it's STILL sitting in the hangar all in pieces. Why? Well, the same guy found a bubble on a main rotor blade on another aircraft. So, yesterday morning at the sweet hour of 3:30 am, I'm unloading a main rotor blade from the hotshot we had to get. Did I mention we usually go home at that time?

Anyway, thank goodness I think. Before the truck got there, I go to start the forklift. It won't start. So, I get the battery charger and get it all hooked up, and I finally get it started. THEN, I run it a little bit only to discover that facility maintenance hasn't put any diesel in it.....ARGH!!!! I get the truck unloaded and get the blade inside just before I totally run out of diesel.

And I just lost the rest of this post and I'm NOT retyping. Suffice it to say, we had 3 birds down today.....2 spares, learned that you don't let a diesel engine run dry........and all the other crud that goes along with it. It's been interesting to say the least!! I LOVE my job!
Good for you, Roto! Enough is enough, overtime is fine occasionally, but routinely, & at the cost of your health, is not good.
Priming a diesel? Noooooo!! Time someone did their job.

My daughter just bought an HP, because it had Graphic Design software in it. It's a huge laptop, I've become too used to my tablet and smart phones, but she needs it for work.
I also bought refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Tablet that ran strong for four years; it still works but I have to keep it plugged in, battery won't hold a charge. It was worth the $350 I saved.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920AZ using Tapatalk
I have a refurbished Note 2 & love it. I'm considering looking for a newer Noten but this one is still going strong. The 2 didn't have all day battery life if you use it to surf like I do, but it's lasting ws long as it evrr did. Can't you get a new battery?

Okay, first ya'll are talking about bread and I had to go to the local bakery and buy a loaf of sourdough bread - delicious with fresh ham and a salad...

Now, please stop talking about cheese cake - my mouth is already watering since I have not had a good one in a long time - it is raining outside and I really do not want to have to drive to the store again... :grr:
