We have a Fellow Porcher, Mrs C, who is going thru some major medical issues with her Father .. and, although she is unlikely to mention it herself, I am taking it upon myself to ask that we direct Positive Thoughts toward the vicinity of Indianapolis, IN, in hope that the Collective may somehow channel a bit of Cosmic Energy her and her Fathers way ..

I'm kind of half-watching "The Natural". I need to pay more attention because, don't laugh, I'm having trouble keeping up with the plot line.
Just poking my head in for a minute.........I'm at work on this America's birthday. Truth be told......I could care less. How's that for a jolly whopping attitude?! LOL
Anyway, the island is chock a block full of people right now. Everybody and their brother are at the camps and hanging out on the beach and whatnot. This afternoon there was a Golf Cart parade. BWAHAhahahaha.....glad I missed that in order to get to work. There are supposed to be fireworks on the other end of the island tonight. I can only imagine what it's going to be like getting back to the apartments in the morning. I imagine we'll be playing "Dodge the drunks".
It's relatively quiet here at the base, which is just the way I like it.
Positive energy going out for Russel and Mrs C and her Dad. BIG HUGS to all.

Uhm, & the Gov't is the biggest fat cat there is.
I know what I'm getting ready to type won't sit well with all .. however, although I am all for "wishing folks well and sending out good thoughts" and all that, I believe that when I'm able to attempt to offer up even a feeble effort to say something that may be more directional and specific, I go with it .. right or wrong ..
Retirement has never been a thought for me, since as long as I'm able, I can do what I like to do and get paid to do it .. and, yes, Threadsters have voiced the exact opposite thought when I've gone down that road .. Oh, well ..
Your thoughts are right on, at least IMO .. I don't want anyone to take what I write in any form other than what I intend .. alternate ideas .. and, I believe in Positivity .... as far as that "Retirement Check" goes, I don't know how it is out there these days, however, I would suspect the Gold Watch and a nice monthly check are a bit more slim than what they used to be ..
On a Side Rant :: For anyone curious, yes, I do support the $15.00 minimum wage, because I don't see how in Hell these days, even a married couple with both working can get by on what Uncle Sam currently uses as the minimum, thusly ending up being subsidized by Tax Money in many cases .. let them earn a living wage because that's what most people would rather do .. and the BS about it hurts Business is BS .. people make more money, they spend more money, it helps the Economy .. Fat Cat CEO's sucking up every spare dollar in Bonuses and Wages does not help the Economy ..
True.And there's the damn rub... or at least part of it.
I've never been able to figure out how or why any one human being can be truly worth a million-plus dollar salary PLUS perks PLUS bonuses PLUS benefits PLUS retirement PLUS a 'golden parachute' if they get fired.

Having been told by a good friend that I've been a bit errant on posting lately.....
Thinking ahead to the possibility of another trip in the distant future.....maybe a year from this fall ?? I have indulged myself in buying a weighted hula hoop.....When y'all pick yourselves up off the floor from hysterical laughter.....it's a very good exercise device for your core muscles and another way to work on taking some of those remaining pounds off. Somebody...

My misadventure in getting myself a few margaritas....I get to shop every two weeks.....first trip last month, having been advised on a good pre-mixed margarita, bought it, came home and realized....no salt, no limes, no olives....
Second trip, yep, got the salt to rim my glass, but.....no limes, no olives....
