I can't get an exact read on the date, but it looks to me like it's been up a while .. and of course, they know .. although a fresh email address might allow another vote

Well. I'm feeling just civilized enuf to pop in for a minute.
To make a long boring story short...about three weeks ago I fell down...but didn't realize that I broke a pelvic bone in my right hip, the one that has a new ball n joint. So I've gone way back in the recovery time...and I'm not pleasant to be around when I'm so p.o.d and depressed.Anyone with any sense at all that knows me steers way clear till I give the green light so to speak. It's still not green but maybe a mild red...
Bye for now...
Drum roll please...
Geordi and I got our first point toward his championship! Actually, his breeder showed him in the class, I took him in for Best of Winners (best boy and best girl) and he won! He stood for the exam and we played and had fun in the ring. Both his breeder and I are very pleased with his progress.
OK, serious Iffy here...
Need some help from our Porch Hive Mind!
Long story short (as possible)...
Several weeks ago, I contacted and met a gent after recovering his tackle box with his fishing license his grandson left at the 'office'. He enjoyed the 'ramp no mercy table' and started to visit fairly regularly.
This afternoon I witnessed a hale & hearty gent (early 60s) basically flip an 'off' switch. One moment he was an engaging conversationalist, the next a 'crumpled' man.
I noted his transformation and kept watch. He wandered off to the seawall and sat down like a deflated balloon. I approached and asked if he was alright. He looked at me like I had slapped his face. After a few comforting words, he admitted he was having a recurrent bout of depression. And he couldn't believe that I was concerned.
He said no one had ever picked up on his 'challenge' and was ever so surprised and appreciative of my concern. We sat for many minutes letting us both absorb what had just happened. I told him that I wasn't probing, but willing to talk with him more if he wished. He said I would like to speak with me again regarding his affliction in the future.
Without going into our conversation, I'll add this much:
He is taking meds to no avail (type unknown at this time)
Ongoing issue for much of his life
Docs & meds are BS (his words)
My question for any of our porchers, has anyone here dealt with a person in this condition? Any assistance would be deeply appreciated!
With all the crap going on within our nation and around the globe, this is my 'backyard' and hopefully I can do something about it!!!
Grateful thanx in advance...
He is so cute! Poo-pop. That's precious!
Lol! How that happened I have no idea!Could just be that those bottom leaves are spent. Done their job and you can clip them off. Probably good to do that anyway to avoid any bad bacteria or whatever developing as they rot.
{{{Kay}}} Hope you're feeling better now.
GO GEORDI!! You must be so proud!
I totally agree with Bells. Not enough info. Just being there to listen when he's like that is probably the best thing you can do for him. There are no magic words to fix it. Kudos to you for being willing to be there for him.
That's funny, but it's PopPop. Actually it sometimes sounds like he's saying Popeye. Yep, he is really cute and we can see him growing into a little boy now instead of a baby. Wow, where did 19 months go? They grow so fast!
So, my 3 tomato and pepper plants are doing great. I think the epsom salts really made the difference! Knowing we were going to be leaving I was hoping at least 1 big tomato would be ripe enough to eat before we left. One started turning red and I wanted to let it stay on the vine as long as possible. So the morning we were to leave I went out to pick it and dang if a critter didn't abscond with it!! My first tomato of the season! A 2nd one was starting to turn so I picked it and lovingly carried it all the way to Colorado. It's ripened beautifully on the windowsill. I'm hoping to pick up some mozzarella and basil tomorrow to make a capreese salad. Yummy!
It's true! But apparently my fryin pan is very extroverted!! heheheDeb & Kenna, introverts??? Shut the front door!!!![]()

Les Leung's petition on Change.org has been in existence for over a year now. Such petitions are designed to record your computer's unique ID when you sign, in order to prevent duplicate signatures. The system for recording computer IDs is pretty good but not foolproof.
In order to maintain the integrity of the collection of signatures, allow me to suggest that you not sign twice even if you're able to do so. Of course, you may not remember whether you've signed previously. I knew when I couldn't sign that it was because I signed the petition before, (about a year ago when I was one of the first few hundred signatures).
Yes, Advocate.......Hmmmm...don't know why the whole thing didn't paste. INFJ-A. Yes, I am an introvert. It's true! But apparently my fryin pan is very extroverted!! hehehe
Good to see ya roto......the tab says advocate, is that what you are? It didn't show the letters like INFP or whatever. How ya doin tonite darlin???
The language is not the same, but it's the same petition. That's because Les has done many updates. Since the most recent update always appears at the top of the page, it looks like it's a different document. One way you can tell it's the same petition is to look at the number of signatures.... regardless of which version you go to, the number of signatures is identical. What I signed today was NOT the original petition I signed a year ago....
dang......what the heck have they been doin to that new one??? Well at least busy helps the time pass. Hope you can get some rest and have some fun though.Oh hell, @Debadoo , I'm sorry. You asked me how I was doing tonight. I'm all right. I'm at work. Been busier than a one legged man in an ... kicking contest. Came in to work to the same broken helicopter that we left offshore last hitch. The thing is practically brand new now. New engine, new drive shaft, new transmission, new free wheeling unit...............Yes, I've been busy. The mechanics ........swamped!!
I don't think there's a new helicopter. I think you read it wrong. I could be wrong.dang......what the heck have they been doin to that new one???
I think you're giving him the best possible medication: your time, concern and attention. It can become a drain to spend increasing amounts of time with a depressed person.
yur right, I read it wrong. It's nearly new NOW since so much has been replaced.I don't think there's a new helicopter. I think you read it wrong. I could be wrong.
Me too. I wonder if it won't let me sign because I have already signed. It's hard to keep track of all the petitions I've signed and all the surveys I've taken.
What I signed today was NOT the original petition I signed a year ago....
The following is from the email I received from Les Leung

Jul 17, 2016 — Senator Ron Johnson, Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, has sent a third letter to the FDA demanding answers to questions regarding the basis and effects of the deeming rule. It is unclear what direct effect this will have, but we need as much attention brought to this fight as possible. Support Senator Johnson's efforts. #AnswerRonJohnson... Read more"
Yabutt how many are not US citizens? From what I gather this is actually a UK run site. So any non US person would only dilute the list and pretty much make it irrelevant. What's been really discouraging to me is that there are 245,791 members of ECF and only 57,295 signatures...
You read my mind, @garyoa1. To be safe, I recommend that you use some mental floss and brain wash immediately.Yabutt how many are not US citizens? From what I gather this is actually a UK run site. So any non US person would only dilute the list and pretty much make it irrelevant.
Hi All!
Didn't have any trouble signing but I may have signed before. It IS tough to remember, so many petitions and surveys................
Anywho...... Just checking in. Thanks for the tip Janet. The foliage is getting more brown all the time. Maybe they've just run their course IDK. It's odd that they were doing so well and produced about 30 pods from 8 plants and seem to have just shut off. We're just hoping that the pods mature completely before it's too late. Even at that, there won't be a half cup of shucked peas and enough Sugar Snaps for maybe ONE stir fry! Oh well, we can't expect much from such a small area and can't afford to cultivate a larger one.![]()
