oh... ya want me to REALLY get political, is that it?

:)

Yes, please.........possibly with the objections to your "POLITICAL" the folks who are spoiling for a fight will find the intestinal fortitude to come out of the dark political innuendo closet and post just enough to get them banned for a couple of weeks and the rest of us can enjoy normal, peaceful BP banter.

Very cool, Willie! I had a feeling you'd like him. I would SO love to see him live. "almost" got the chance when he was in Laughlin (08) but....... and in Memphis (Nashville) at the fish fry would totally be FAR OUT!

I really think it's cool how he mixed "Werewolves & Sweet Home" and then completely switched up the lyrics. I couldn't name the song off the top of my head but it was one of his earlier works and he played piano amazingly well. Definitely a NOT BS'er. This guy walks the walk. (IMO :D )

If I were to somehow miraculously procure Backstage Passes and a Meet and Greet for the 2017 Nashville event, for whatever number of Porchers that could/would attend, would that be near enough enticement for you and yours to have a more than passing interest .. ?? Memphis being about 3 Hours from Nashville, a Day Trip to Beale etc, would not be out of the question .. of course, it's tough to sample Memphis adequately in a Day ..

Anyone else that might feel Nashville would be a bit more attractive under this scenario, feel free to chime ..

Funny you should mention that. I have a small group of old school friends that I occasionally get together with for karaoke parties in one of their garages.

I have been known to Karaoke .. primarily after some liquid repast and mostly concentrated on Eagles Material .. it's my trademark .. ;)

ETA: At last, an enticing and drool evoking food pic!

And yepper, I'm up pher a Nashville Phish Phry Odyssey!!!

    Taco Salads Score .. ?? ;) .. I'm putting you on record for Nashville .. :)

Count me in for that !!! But.....I want to be promised a REAL party with music and dancing  and of course....imbibing....:D

How could it be any other way .. ?? :)

If I woke up and nothing hurt, I would think I was dead.

I don't often say this, however, Amen ..

A Kid Rock jewel for your Morning / Noon listening enjoyment .. Kid carries on the Tradition of the Midwest Rocker, carrying the Baton of Seger and Mellencamp .. blue-collar and working class themes rooted in the Heartland ..

    Musing on a Friday ::

I grew up with Westerns .. beginning with Audie Murphy, Tom Mix, and Johnny Mack Brown, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and Rex Allen. As well as each and every single Horse these folks had .. :)

Although, these days, I don't think it's recommended you send your child out like this ::

    222d38ece27e314c6252444a694bb47a.jpg

Later, moving on to Maverick, Gunsmoke, The Lone Ranger, The Rifleman, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Laramie, Have Gun, Will Travel, Bonanza, The Virginian, Wagon Train, The Big Valley, Maverick, The High Chaparral, The Gene Autry Show, Sugarfoot, Cheyenne, Zorro .. to add a few ...

It's hard to pick a favorite, but The Rifleman and Have Gun, Will Travel were likely my top picks, although they were all good ..

The Western as we knew it went out of fashion I think back in the late 1960's .. there have been a few excellent films in the More Modern Age, most currently "The Revenant" (which is well worth a watch and you won't hardly recognize De Caprio)

I think several have mentioned "Hell on Wheels", which is the only reason I write this, normally I don't comment on my TV watching habits, not knowing what others here view ..

At any rate, I stayed captivated by Cullen Bohannan, Thomas 'Doc' Durant, Eva, Mickey, The Swede (Norwegian), Psalms, Elam and the rest of the excellent cast that brought this show to life .. although it owes it's roots to those early shows, it is, of course, much more gritty and explicit than those old shows .. loosely based on the Real Story of the Trans Continental Railroad, I cannot recommend it more highly .. one of my other top favorite shows is "Deadwood" .. which is cut from much of the same cloth as "Hell on Wheels"

If you enjoy a wonderful story, with a flawed lead character that eventually finds some form of redemption at the end, give it a try .. and while you're at it, "Deadwood" is more than worth the time as well, although the last season really did not tie it up as well as it could have been .. just don't bring in the kids/grandkids ..

Well yesterday was some fun. The place we met up was a typical dive. My kinda place. The drinks were hand poured about 50/50 booze to whatever. People from all walks of life. One guy with a pool Q that said he just brings it to lean on after a few. 60's and 70's Rock music, patio with misters that never hit you. Nice greasy food. We drove by it 3 times before we saw the sign. It was hot yesterday for here about 85. The seating outside was mostly old theater seat pretty beat up. All in all we had a blast. One of the gals had pictures of parties I was at when I was 22 or so. I looked like a baby faced kid with long hair. I don't think there was anyone there under 50. I was the only vaper but lots and lots of smokers. The beer was cold and the drinks were cheap. Everybody was friendly. One guy came over and had to smack fists and then do a Hulk Hogan posture and tell me I was the toughest guy there. He got quite a kick watching me walking around and getting drinks for our group. You know I've noticed this before but I have yet to see over about 1% of the guys that wash their hands after they take a leak. Just amazes me in this day and age. We stayed about 4 hours and then had to fight rush hour traffic coming back up here. Damn the traffic is terrible here around 5pm and this is 30 miles outside of Seattle. It did look over the waterfront which has changed so much. Nothing down there any more. Used to be Scott Paper Mill, Weyerhauser, Fishermans terminal with fish stores you could get fresh fish right off the boats. All gone. A few upscale restaurants down there and a Naval base thats home to one of the Aircraft carriers and supporting ships. The RR yard I used to work at was empty. I think too many big shytes on the hill complained about the noise. Used to be able to walk accross street and get smoked salmon still warm out of the smoker. Fresh crab and shrimp. It was nice to go to a place that really hasn't changed in 50 years other then it is a tavern and back in the day they were only able to sell wine and beer but every place serves everything now. Both our friends looked a lot older but if you closed your eyes and just listened it was like you were transported back to 1970. There were Black folks, Indians, White folk and no one saw anything but a bunch of old people still living in the 70's but looking like they were rode hard and put away wet. It was a blast from the past most fun I've had for years. Everett used to be that kind of place everywhere but the folks at the bar did look like they worked hard all there life but still hanging on to a way of life that they loved.

It was definately a working class kind of place. No business men that I could see probably not high class enough. The gals that ran the bar and food were the same just a bunch of older gals who could remember everything you ordered to a T and didn't have to write it down, called you honey and were just generally really nice to you. No snippy waitresses there.

You painted such a great mental picture, it made me really wish I was there .. even if it's a fleeting, momentary feeling, sometimes, we can recapture a little bit of the old days .. if I live long enough to tilt one back with you someday, somewhere, Fate will have smiled on me .. :)

I have determined that people wo put ketchup (catsup) on a hamburger have obviously been influenced by sinister forces and should be viewed with suspicion.

People who put ketchup on hot dogs should be strangled, beheaded, body burnt, and the ashes buried in an old spitoon in a gutter behind a defunct brothel at midnight on the dark of the moon.

Wow, seems kinda harsh. I mean it's pretty tough to find a functioning brothel unless you are in Nevada, finding a defunct one is gonna be a chore for whoever is trying to dispose of the remains.

I think that's waaaaay too good for people who put ketchup on hot dogs... we're gonna have to dial that punishment up to 11. Make 'em listen to One Direction like they did the terrorists at Guantanamo with heavy metal...

They used to have 4 in Deadwood, SDak. That was before it turned into what it is now. In the 70's is was like walking into a Western Movie. Have a few at the Wild Bill Bar and a few at the bar he got shot in. If you wished walk down the street and look for the places with the colored doors. The green on was suppose to be the best. When I worked the job that took coal to the Gold Mine at Lead, SDak we stayed at a hotel that looked like it hadn't been changed since the old days. It probably hadn't. The rooms had running water but you had to go down the hall to use the bathroom. No AC. Of course now the RR doesn't even have that line I think they made it into a bike trail or some such thing. That job used to be a fun catch in the summer not so much in the winter. Not maintained that well, big snow drifts but the mine needed the coal. It had some of the steepest grades of any rail lines 3% which is a lot for a train, there was a 4% when you had to make a side trip to Keystone. You could just barely get up and at the top they head back down at 3% which could be real interesting if your brakes had gotten iced up. It was one of those kinda trips that made you B Hole pucker but it was great when you got to the end. It was 100+ miles from Edgemont, SDak where I lived. You didn't catch it very often so for most, you just hoped the regular Head Brakeman was on the job cause he knew the route like the back of his hand. It was not a run for the faint of heart.

Deadwood is not cut from any cloth.... it's unique and always will be....

I spent a good amount to purchase every season...although, very very sadly, it only ran for three. There was one hellofa brue-hah when the exec. producer suddenly cancelled it.
