I mastered stealth wizzing in Texas...

HEY!!!! NO wizzin on Texas!!! :grr:

My daughter thinks she may have figured one of the cars out. She's on her way to the auto parts store to get what she thinks she needs. Under $50.
oh I hope so!! so wish you could trust one of the cars to get all y'all to Boston!

It's almost impossible for the camera to be unstable. The motorized camera stabilization gimbal counters every movement that the quad makes, no matter how turbulent the conditions.

It's pretty remarkable how fast the technology develops. 3 years ago, there was no such thing as a quad copter with a motorized camera gimbal.
that really is amazing!

Just today we had a scare with our daughter's dog. She hadn't been feeling well for the last day or 2 and today she had bloody ........ at the dog park. Off to the vets they went hoping it wasn't the nasty diagnosis we found online for her symptoms. She's 10 years old, not a pup anymore, but still not that old for a medium size dog. Doc thinks she picked up guardia (sp?) so they hydrated her and she's got meds that should fix her up in a few days. Whew! That dog is so sweet and very special to us it was hard to fight back the tears until we got some good news after the blood work.
so glad it's something simple. A friend on another thread has the same issue with his dog, bloody stools. going to the vet tomorrow. But she's eating and drinking well, so hopefully something simple. Colitis can do that, plus she eats "treats" left behind by other dogs.

Ohhhhh I haven't had a good bowl of french onion soup in I don't know how many years. Love the stuff!!

So, until then, you'll find me in this motel room, with decent wi-fi but a puny 32" TV. I'm spoiled by the 70" TV I got within the past year.
Glad you're able to get a motel room, just sorry you have that expense. That's horrible it's going to take at least that long to get the power on. I know the crews have so much to do. Hope they're bringing in crews from other states to help with it.

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.
she's so adorable!!

Here's a frankie pic for those who haven't seen him. He's such a sweetie, but once in awhile remembers he's a terrier and turns into a terrior-ist.

that's him with my granddaughters hamster Chloe.

Yes, they're bringing in crews from as far away as the Midwest. I think that some of NC's crews are probably in SC, GA and FL, especially since the outages here in NC were kind of an unanticipated last-minute surprise gift from Hurricane Matthew.

But your comment caused me to think hey, since I'm going to be paying for a motel anyway, why not get a little further from home while I'm waiting for electric power to be restored to my all-electric residence? The place I'm staying is one of several motels that are only 4 miles from my house, at I-95 Exit 145.

Will I actually take a little road trip? I guess the only way to know is for me to take a look around tonight and see if I'm somewhere else.

Mornin' everybunny!

oh you really should!! This would be the perfect time to do it. Grab a map and throw a dart! Been too long since I've been on a road trip.

Well, the dart gets wet in any direction except for North, so North it is. (95 South from here is closed, at least in spots, and there's flooding both east and west).

Headed toward NJ or toward western PA, maybe, I think. Have quad copter will travel.

OK, so I was headed back to my house to pick up some stuff for my trip. I'm comin' down the path when what should appear but a miniature sleigh and..... oh wait, wrong train. What appeared was my outside light at the front steps, lit up.

So, I've got power back. Maybe I'll still decide to take a trip real soon, but knowing me, the likelihood is not exceedingly high. I will be headed to GA, but that's not until late in December.

Duke Progress Energy was sposta text me when my power was back on, but I suspect it got fixed only a few minutes before I got here and the text will come shortly.

Go for it! Just don't go south or east! Fall trails are starting now, you could tour Appalachia.
