Approved December of 2000, the “National Moment of Remembrance Act,” designates 3:00 p.m. as the National Moment of Remembrance. Congress then found that “it is essential to remember and renew the legacy of Memorial Day, which was established in 1868 to pay tribute to individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States and their families” recognizing that “greater strides must be made to demonstrate appreciation for those loyal people of the United States whose values, represented by their sacrifices, are critical to the future of the United States” and that “the Federal Government has a responsibility to raise awareness of and respect for the national heritage, and to encourage citizens to dedicate themselves to the values and principles for which those heroes of the United States died.
I have personally never broken the Flag Code, yet most likely don't even know it exists .. United States Flag Code: “The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery . . . The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard ...”
“He’s not a war hero, he was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” .. a statement that, in and of itself should have immediately disqualified any candidate .. yet America somehow still allows a Charlatan and one that worships money and power over Country to hypnotize a large portion of the populace .. think about that on Memorial Day ..
Happy Memorial Day to PFC John Day, and all the others I knew that are gone ... Rest in Peace
