All right, good people, after putzing around enough, packing the car, settling the animals, putting out the garbage and other odds and ends, I'm off to the island for another seven days of fun in the sun. BWAHAhahahahahaha... Breeze dog gets me every time! He KNOWS when I'm leaving, and he won't follow me outside. I guess he thinks if he doesn't move, I won't leave. I literally have to pick him up and take him to his pallet in the shed. Then he looks at me with those sad eyes. He really gets to me. I'll try to pop in when I can. Have fun all!!
Nice "seeing" you for real. You know you can do the hangouts thing from your smartphone if you want to. Just install Hangouts from the Playstore.

I just discovered that the "10 chars" requirement is no more. Woo hoo! And more "Woo Hoo": still in remission! Start up chemo again in 2 weeks. I'm so grateful. Wish I had Iffy's dancing Snoopy; he'd be scampering across the page right now!
Congratulations, Birdy! That's fantastic news! I'm so excited for you!

Congrat's on the SFC promotion. Nice increase in pay but it also draws more paperwork. I remember getting my SGT stripe and thinking I had it made now...such are the delusions of youth. I found out that as an Electronics SP 4 I was at the top of that food chain, no KP, occasional CQ duty, and only paperwork for parts orders and finished radios. Then as a SGT I was beleaguered with all the PW I used to do plus added reports, evaluations, requests for everything and all. I think my Platoon SGT enjoyed haveing me do some of his work. Oh! but the joys of confusing butter bars when they really had no clue as to what I really did inside a radio. The "manual" said to fully run a radio through a full tune up was supposed to take 1 1/2 hrs. This was using 10 pieces of seperate test equipment. When the army started getting the modern test equipment from Motorola & IFR, I could preset everything and run thru a radio in 10 min.s LT would look baffled and say " Very good, carry on" which is Mil speak for "I have no idea of what your talking about, but it makes me look good".

a few years ago, I got 3D lasic, which does the same thing...
How strange though...
Mono-lasic is the same in both eyes, but mono lens Replacment is adjusted for each eye.
The jargon confuses me but they don't call it mono lens replacement, they call it monovision. And yes, monovision seems a really poor word to describe what is actually meant.

All in fun but, who are we gonna pick on when your new camera comes in?
Am I worried that you'll become tongue-tied when I have a better audio/video connection? No I am not.

Unmentioned in all the serving staff talk - many places, the servers tips count against a "base" wage. So even if paying the tab by credit / debit, I always leave cash tips. They can decide what to tell the boss, and higher ups!
I could be wrong but I believe the IRS has a minimum tip amount that wait people must report, whether they made it or not. Ever finish a meal with a different server than the one who you started with, due to a shift change? That's one of the reasons that some places pool all tips.

Poor doggie! You paint a great picture, Roto. I can picture the situation.

Instead of hanging out last night, I was laying down cat5 cable from my modem in one room to my work PC in another room. And, naturally, on the very last staple.... I hit the cable wrong and ruined it. Had to go to the store and get new cable. But they didn't have any 100 ft length (I needed 75) so a 25' and a 50' length coupled with an rj45 connector later... Finally got the new cable sort of layed... Except it's wider than what I had gotten before, and I want to get wider staples in my staple gun.
Good thing I live alone or someone might trip over the cable that is currently crossing the hall instead of being redirected around a door.

Good for you for getting it done, Ken. I'd have given up when I needed to go to the store!

I can relate. I want to run an internet line to my TV and don't really know how to do it. Can I run a separate line from the outside phone box or does it have to go through my modem box? I've got a DSL connection. If I have to run it from my modem box, the best way would be to run the line under the house, but the easiest way would be to run it across the floor. I have the anti-interference shield thingies to put on the line.
