I made a blog post on vaping and other related self improvements today. Had to mention you guys. Started to get some interesting feedback that gave me the opportunity to promote.

Oops! Wrong link. I had to update that. Learned today, a fellow blogger died recently (he was only thirty-five). His last couple of posts, he complained of blood coming out of his ears, no pain though. Had an ear infection that went to his brain in a hurry. Those in the Hang Out know I've been battling ear drainage that I blamed on allergies. My doc gave me ABTs at a recent physical and said I had infection. I don't like to take antibiotics unless I know I need them, so I dismissed it and didn't fill the script. Today I filled and started the script.

Cheese on grits. I made some the other day, and it scorched on the bottom of the pan. That lightly scorched cheesy grits was so good, but ------
is still soaking-- I ought to give it another try.

BTW, while you're mixin' in da cheese, add just a finely chopped roasted jalapeno to excite your t-buds! If ya have any left over cheesy 'heat' grits, make some thin patties and fry 'em 'til golden brown on both sides! Ya can thank me later...

Yep, of course it is possible to do fried grits like fried cornmeal mush. Didn't think of it, though. No real difference between the two, except one is coarse, the other is fine, and one is classically sweet, while the other is savory.

(Sneaking up the steps onto the porch) Well howdy everyone! Yep, the place still looks the same and that rocker over in the quiet corner looks familiar. Well, our friend left for MA today and our daughter is going back to CO tomorrow so we'll have a couple days to chill out. Then starting Monday we may have our DIL and Miles here for 2 weeks while our son is on a business trip. Could get very interesting that 2nd week because that's when destruction starts on our kitchen. Yay!! Could get a bit noisy as well as crowded here! I do love destructing in the house though! It means long overdue changes are happening! Anyway, I keep trying to catch up here and keep getting interrupted and it's why we haven't dropped in at Deb's.

Let's see if I can remember some of the things I wanted to respond to.

Iffy, a belated Happy Anniversary! Congratulations! Sounds like it was a lovely one.

Deb - I've always been told the heating pad should only be used for 20 minutes and then take it off for awhile, like an hour. Something about the blood vessels constricting after about 20 min? And aren't those fuzzy headed days weird? Actually they can be funny, but I've always thought it was the way of the universe to give our brain a rest. It's like it goes on vacation somewhere and forgot to take us!

Matt, glad to hear you're feeling better after that hot lava in your throat night. Ugh. Aspirating that stuff can be very nasty. Using the wedge in the bed could help you, but you're right, you need to rig up a harness to keep you from sliding down!

Peach, your new grand baby is adorable! What a great photo! Congratulations on the new addition!

Willie, I played some of your music for Miles today and he loved it. He seems to love music, even when I sing to him and that's enough to make anyone else run away screaming! He just stops everything and listens. Guess that means he understands good manners...

Oh, and Willie, those ribs look incredible! Made my mouth water just looking at them!

Semi, haven't heard about the Hudson yards built OVER THE RAILROAD YARD? As in over the top of them? Wow. Well, I guess they can build lots of things UNDER whole cities so why not?

Amoret, Wow, you're blessed to be able to watch such a variety of birds, especially the colorful ones. Don't your squirrels chase them away? We seem to be spending a fortune keeping the bird feeders filled and the squirrels figured out how to get into them and Poof! All gone! A lot of it gets knocked to the ground for the ground birds and the deer but I feel bad for the birds sometimes.

Rat, so sorry about the bunny. Yep, you did the compassionate thing by ended it's suffering. Still is traumatic though. I was freaked for a couple days when I saw a chipmunk attack and kill a cardinal after I tried to save it. It was only doing what was natural to him, but I was upset for days and I didn't have to put it out of it's misery.

We're having homemade cherry ice cream for breakfast. I didn't leave the base in the freezer long enough and it didn't really turn the ingredients into ice cream, just sort of. We were supposed to have it before our daughter left so that means we have to eat it in the morning! Not a bad thing really, it's milk and fruit right? That's a good breakfast!

Hope I didn't forget anything. Time for bed.

Thanks millions, Ken. I've been trying to figure that out for days. Duh, it's so simple it eluded me.

Don't even get me started on the :censored::censored::censored: squirrels. I can't afford to keep feeding them oil sunflowers. As soon as my SS check is deposited I'm ordering at least one squirrel baffle that I also can't afford. And a big jar of red pepper flakes since generally birds don't mind them and mammals don't.

Loki, who barks at way too many things can't be bothered to bark at the squirrels. Though once last week when there were SIX of them in my front yard I did "accidentally" let Loki get away from me. The squirrels did stay away for two days after that.

I don't know if I ever posted my "watchdog" picture of him here - bird watching, that is.

Signing off for now. Have to pick up granddaughter early in the morning. Today I vaped 7mls of 18 mgs. I expected it would be one of the toughest days being the fourth one and I was right, but I didn't pick up. I'm vaping a 60/40 mix of peach and tobacco with a faint hint of mint. Mostly, I just taste tart peaches and it worked for me. It's organic and cloudy, but I think it's supposed to be. I tried the 70:30 yesterday, but it wasn't quite as satisfying. Good night all, you are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!

I am sorry to hear that. I don't mind taking antibiotics, just remember to take them all. Antibiotic resistant bacteria are becoming a hell of a problem. Failure to complete a course of antibiotics along with over prescribing are the main causes.

I nearly lost my left leg to MRSA nine years ago. Was sent home on pills, but came back to ER demanding admission. Glad I did. Had to have IV abts and surgery for debridement, irrigation and drainage. Wasn't pretty. But I do know how serious antibiotic resistant infections can be. I promise to take them all :)

Baby Ruth, (my dog) hurt a baby bunny real bad this afternoon and I had to put it out of its misery. I know I did the right thing (and the only thing) but it still just tears me up.
OH honey, I'm so sorry!! That would be a horrible thing to have to do. Love da bunnies!

Speaking of hot dogs... A Hebrew National dog with Chili, Cheese (cheddar) and onions. Now the gets the old taste buds a hopping. :D
My son likes Hebrew National better, but I like Nathan's better, but for the cost of either, I can buy Roast! I like the ones from Sam's Deli, but ya have to buy a ton of em at a time. They used to sell a really great kosher dog for cheap in the hot dog part of the fridge section, but they quit carrying them.

Yay Iffy, can't wait for da jam session.

I'm trying to figure out how to do a multi reply on here but I can't.
glad ken got ya fixed up, was gonna tell ya to come in the hangout and I'd walk ya through it, since as you can see, and all will attest......I'm really good at it!!!
Giggle Head Shake.gif

Today I filled and started the script.
Good!!!! Was gonna fuss at ya bout that last night, but we got sidetracked and I forgot.

If ya have any left over cheesy 'heat' grits, make some thin patties and fry 'em 'til golden brown on both sides!
JUP!! Bestest way to eat grits cheesy or not is fried in bacon grease! you forgot to say bacon grease!

Jup, that was usually how I did it most of the time, but he said for the issues I was having to not use it at all but only to use ice. Told him I couldn't tolerate the ice at all, and he said bout 1 in 100 have that issue, so not to use ice, but not to use the heat either. I miss it!

Oh yes, horseradish! I even out a little in my home made coleslaw
me too!! Makes it sooooo good!!

Today I vaped 7mls of 18 mgs. I expected it would be one of the toughest days being the fourth one and I was right, but I didn't pick up.
Wahooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry ya had a rough day, but am glad you didn't pick up da cigs. Hope someone can chime in on that cloudy ejuice. I know some that have oils can get cloudy and that will usually go away if you warm them somewhat. Which reminds me, derrrr I should do that to the pluid mike sent me. I keep meaning to tell Mike that it was super cloudy when it got here which I thought was cuz it was so cold, so I hadn't tried it, but maybe I need to warm it a bit. Was just nervous bout it being cloudy.

Hope everyone has a great night! As to the hangout, I don't want us to stop posting here, and I don't think we have. I always have a lot of pages to catch up on. But I don't want us to stop that either, and I think we actually have a pretty good balance. Don't want anyone to feel alienated if they can't participate in the hangout, so everyone please feel free to speak up.
