Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Three

Don't even get me started on the squirrels. I can't afford to keep feeding them oil sunflowers. As soon as my SS check is deposited I'm ordering at least one squirrel baffle that I also can't afford. And a big jar of red pepper flakes since generally birds don't mind them and mammals don't.

Loki, who barks at way too many things can't be bothered to bark at the squirrels. Though once last week when there were SIX of them in my front yard I did "accidentally" let Loki get away from me. The squirrels did stay away for two days after that.

I don't know if I ever posted my "watchdog" picture of him here - bird watching, that is.

Awww, what a sweet picture of your pup. Our daughter complained about the squirrels in Denver. I've seen them sit just out of reach, taunting her dog.

Illness and antibiotics - I agree that they (and many meds) are over prescribed. The old saying "14 days with antibiotics, 2 weeks without" is very true.

I got them at Sam's Club, Matt. Three packages bundled for a scoosh under nine dollars.

if you have a big freezer and like the ones they serve at Sam's Deli, you can buy them fairly cheap, you just have to buy a lot of them at one time which makes it kind of expensive, but last time I checked they ended up being about .50 a piece, and they were huge hot dogs.

Signing off for now. Have to pick up granddaughter early in the morning. Today I vaped 7mls of 18 mgs. I expected it would be one of the toughest days being the fourth one and I was right, but I didn't pick up. I'm vaping a 60/40 mix of peach and tobacco with a faint hint of mint. Mostly, I just taste tart peaches and it worked for me. It's organic and cloudy, but I think it's supposed to be. I tried the 70:30 yesterday, but it wasn't quite as satisfying. Excellent post! You are a very good ambassador for vaping. It's going to take awhile for people to sort through all the misinformation out there and your blog offers another source for very helpful information.

As far as vaping being a gateway to smoking, I wonder how many young people would have been smokers, but picked up vaping instead. No way to know that, but it doesn't make sense for someone to start with vaping and then go to smoking. It's possible that some might because kids will try anything, but it seems much more likely to be the opposite. Only time will tell about that.

The latest "reports" do cite a decline in teen smoking, which they conveniently ignore when telling the world how bad it is that teens are vaping...

Stopped at a little place that popped up next to our local Walmart. It's called Lizard E-liquids. Tried some flavors. Bought 18 mg Better Than Sex (fruity), Black cherry, and Watermelon Rancher. The clerk didn't seem as knowledgeable as you guys about pg/vg ratios. She kept telling me everything in the store was 60-70 VG and 30-40 PG, but could not tell me the ratios on anything I purchased. It's not on the box, but it does list VG as the first ingredient. Who knows?

Granddaughter graduates 4K tonight. We'll go out to eat. Nice salad for lunch, then off to the hairdresser to lower my ears.

Thanks Deb, about the blog post. A few folk dropped by that aren't regulars on my blog. A couple sent private emails. Of my regulars, many offered support. It was Carrie Rubin, the physician-medical thriller writer that brought up children, but I sent her a couple of good links that have links to some scientific studies and address the minors issue more realistically. She'll read 'em.

On Heating Pads .. many years ago, as my lower back began it's long descent into Misery, my chiropractor recommended heating pad / ice bag rotation, beginning with heating pad and changing to ice bag every 15 minutes for at least an hour .. it always seemed to work pretty well and would alleviate the need for any sort of pain pill .. however, I became lazy and for a while, just used the heating pad because it just felt so good while it was on .. during one particularly long session (I think it as Winter time and I was attempting a Marathon viewing of the Directors Cut Extended Edition Lord of the Rings Trilogy) .. I just kept turning the heating pad on again after the built in timer turned it off .. the next morning, as I got out of the shower, I noticed my lower back, in exactly the area the pad had been used on, was very red and I could in fact, see the lines of red formed in a pattern that matched the wires running thru the pad .. it had actually created a burn, even though I never turned it up past medium .. I now stick with the heat / cold rotation ..

On Hebrew National Dogs .. I never really liked the texture, but the taste is good .. what really amazes me is the "Hot Dog As a Spectator Sport" and how the contestants can wolf down mass quantities in a brief period of time .. with many of them being thin people .. apologies for ruining your morning ..

My experience with each and every B&M I have visited has been less that ideal .. a gang of buddies blowing clouds just because they can, a worker that knows little to nothing, yet, I think because I am "mature", treats me as an idiot, blank stares when posing a question just a little outside the norm, limited selection, etc .. the good news is, you can sample a liquid in most cases ..

I am sure there are excellent B&M's out there, I just have not yet walked into one .. it's like many things that suddenly spring on the scene when you have a product that is in a high growth phase ..

That's been pretty much my experience too Unc, way too many max VG sub ohmers hangin' out; nuttin' against the cloud chasers, but I'd like to be able to find the counter when I go in.

Even the ones PBusardo visits sometimes on his YouTube channel appear to be the same. Bunch of folk vaping huge clouds and you can barely see across the room. Problem I have with B&M Vape shops is they all seem to have distinct "head shop" vibe going on. Not that there is anything in particular wrong about that (Lord knows I've seen enough of them in my earlier days), it's just puts me off a bit walking in the door.
