I'm having a really hard time tonight, so I came here to lean my friends. I had to take my kitty to the rainbow bridge today. She was mine for 14 wonderful years, my best fur baby ever. I knew it was coming but it still hit me so hard. Thanks for listening.

Oh no! Misswish, that's one of the toughest things to do making that decision. But I'm sure deep down you knew it was better for her. Remember her as she was and hold fond those memories.

missie,

No one is ready for such a loss! Rest assured that your post has brought a flood of fond memories for ever soooo many folk. Therefore, you have a multitude of those sharing your loss!

RAINBOW BRIDGE...

RB_Poem_Gate.jpg

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you all. We knew it was time. She had cancer. She was starting to hurt and we couldn't put her through that. You adopt a pet knowing that you have to always do what is best for them, not for yourself. I do appreciate your support and kind words, and your friendship.

Very sorry to hear that, misswish. I know you gave her a good home and she had a happy life. They are with us a short time.

Awwww...that's heart breaking. So sorry. Our pets are like family. You did what was right by her. Those wonderful years will be with you always.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My animals, presently one kitty and one dog, are like my children. I know you'll miss her.

Wow - finally caught up - you sure do talk a lot here :) Very busy weekend with kids and grandkids. I then got on Sunday night and got caught in the 15,000,000 post thread and end up staying up until after 5am here. Gave it my best shot - but I was not likely fast enough to cash in.

Still some hope I guess - since they have just put up the first 10 runner up winners this morning and according to SmokyJoe there are lots more to come

Anyway - it will be what it will be. Not something I would normally do - but something made me do it :D.

Finally got caught up on the Front Porch yesterday and will try to not make this too long - but based on all I have to get caught up on - this won't be short :)

Welcome to Sterno and any others that are new or returning that I have missed

@2legsshrt - glad that things are staying the same. Good luck on the follow up tests and the Hep C treatment.

Woshed out I am.

Spent the day moving everything from the kitchen cabinets to the dinning room and living room. Set up a coffee bar in the dinning room. No way I'm doing without coffee in the morning once the contractor begins ripping out the kitchen this week.

Holy Cow! My vape budget took a hit ... couldn't put the old appliances back into a newly redone kitchen - so we sprang for a new gas stove, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Then Janet said her pots and pans need replacing ... yep ... a new set of those should arrive this week.

Then tonight after dinner I rebuilt 4 Kayfuns and 3 R91's. Let the vaping week begin. I'm ready.

I am sure when it is all done the new kitchen will be lovely - but sorry on the vape budget. I brought up a kitchen reno last year and the look on my husband's face said all. However, he did agree to a new microwave - the one we had was probably 28 years old. They sure don't make stuff today like the old stuff. Of course - once I picked out a new microwave the fridge and stove had to go to - even though they were only 24 years old, but he got away without the reno.

I guess this tells a lot about me - if it still works - why replace it.........

So, here we are:

Who wants to start a stay awake marathon with me and we'll just keep posting until we get there?

Well if this would have been Sunday night - and if I would have gone to the Back Porch instead of the contest thread - we could have had that marathon. Maybe one of us would have won ;) except back porch posting would not have counted.....

Update on the facial stinging and redness. My 65/35 pg:vg @ 16 nic is working well to satisfy cravings. I always smoked lights...maybe that's all I need. Copious amounts of coconut oil have my skin free from irritation and silky smooth. I'm thinking tomorrow a twice daily application might be enough. No antihistamines required. No other signs of nic tox or allergy.

So glad that your face is doing better.

Your determination is inspiring. My issues seem trivial by comparison. Like everybody else, I'm used to that instant nic kick. With vaping, I feel the nic about five or six minutes into a vape.....but I've continued vaping through it, and it seemed the kick was to hard (ten minutes after I stop my jaw is tight and I feel shaky and a bit queasy). Backed off the milligrams a tiny bit. Weird thing is, I vaped less than usual today at 5mls instead of 6-7. But it's been a hard day. I've wanted an analog a few times today.

Based on your signature line - I think you are approaching the 3 week mark. As I have read - this is one of the times when the cigarette wanting hits - 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months not sure about the 3 years - but I guess I will find out in six months.

Glad you were able to make it thru :thumb:

Hi!!!!....so sorry to be absent......got lost in DIY for way too many hours.....having some major computer issues.....trying to get things fixed...

Good to see you - sure hope you get the computer issue resolved. I have been lost in DIY myself - trying to make some juice that might help my son stick with vaping. His girlfriend told me on Sunday that she is 2 weeks cigarette free so I am hoping he also sticks with it.

Ok - going to try to get shorter.....

@matt - glad to see you finally got some sleep. Can't help with the lawn - I leave all that stuff to my husband :) but hope you find a solution soon.

@Puffaway - hoping for the best for your friend. My Mom "lived" with Parkinsons for 20 years - diagnosed at 68 and she lived until 88. She rarely complained and I am still amazed at how she got thru all that she did.

@amoret - glad to hear that Loki has a temporary home - but sad to hear you have give up on stealth vaping - but I can understand your reluctance.

@clnire - sure hope you continue to improve.

@LittleBird - glad all is good. It is good to have this place as home, they even welcome me back after my long lurking spells :)

@Dancing - sounds like it is almost time for the move. I hope it is soon.

We have a bunch of real characters here, they really help me keep my sanity! Laughter is the best medicine for whatever ails you. I'm pretty quiet but I read every word, love my porch family.View attachment 460610

I so agree with you on this! but look at what happens when I start talking.....

and I am so very sorry to hear about your kitty. Must be very hard, even when you know it is coming - still so hard to say goodbye :(

Ok I think this is enough for now. Got to try to get here more often so I don't have to write a book. See you soon!
