Now on the topic of strawberry shortcake, I was raised on the original version - a slightly sweet biscuit base, which may or may not include an egg.
Should....
Unfortunately, I am allergic to strawberriesand after first going to one big splurge per year, and then once a year of just the juice that naturally forms from lightly sugared berries (The only liquid I've ever used on my shortcake) I have finally had to give up completely.
Bummer!
No other fruit really works. Raspberry ought to be good, but the texture is all wrong. The only shortcake that I bother with now is made with good quality frozen peaches. Frozen, before you southerners get upset, works better than the hard sour "fresh" ones that we can get here. I used to kind of like those, but then I spent a summer in Texas and found out what fresh peaches ought to taste like.![]()
Apparently ya didn't spend any peach time in Georgia or South 'Lina. Ya woulda have had to sit in a bath tub so ya could rinse off!
In the meantime I was promoted to a cam boot, which seems like torture to me. It's much heavier and more restrictive than the cast was. Not a happy camper.
Post my ankle rebuild surgery, I couldn't wait til I could wear a cam boot! Are ya fitted properly?
Regardless, hope ya bounce back quickly, get back to where ya wanna be and kick azz!
