Well, I just got an email from a good friend that another of our long time dog training/showing friends has passed. Kathy has been fighting breast cancer for many years and it finally won. This is the third friend in as many weeks. Really makes you reflect on our own morality. So i am feeling some major pangs of sorrow too. I think I am going to go take a walk with my new life, Geordi, along the Ohio River for a few...

Have a good walk! Fresh air, exercise, great company! It'll help a lot...

It so rarely happens that I'm right, I have to start out with the ones I DIDN'T quote and say

I recorded some of the sound but, can't figure out how to attach a sound file. They're .mp3 files but, none of the link functions accept them as far as I can see. I was going to ask for help identifying what birds they were. Oh well, just going to be happy that we have some.

If it's a musical ker-chunk, it's blackbirds.

Feelin' the love on the porch today, more than a few tears have spilled for my fellow porchers who are living with the pain of loss, and for myself as well, I am one of those who hides behind laughter and rarely allow myself to truly feel the pain of losing those close to me, and there has been a lot of those losses in my life. Yup, I remember Old Hippie, but him and his kind get more endangered every day and pretty soon the species will just up and fade away...... (at least according to the Bellamy Brothers)
