I just hold an unbent paper clip with the wick and wrap around both. Then I leave the wire in there and set it across the slots in sides of the atty piece. That keeps me from yanking the coil down into the bottom while locking the legs in place.

I got my silica from amazon and from fasttech believe it or not. :p
Yep. I am just about to hit the button on one foot of silica for 8.48 (postage included) at Amazon. That should get me going, since I still plan on using the scavenged wick from CE5's. And still have the little bit of wire I ordered a week or so ago. I prefer the pin, since it is smaller diameter, and I have hundreds. Might as well be ready to go when the time comes. Even though my denture tab soak and dry burn to test keeps them going a long time. There is none available for less n the classifieds, is there? I am going to get verified some time this week.

how much cotton do u wield? guessing im gonna fail big time with that :p and yes a evod head is gonna get rebuild in the near future ;) cant stop now lol :p
After I thread the cotton through the coil I give it a little tug back and forth. There should be just the slightest resistance to moving. Not alot. Cotton expands a great deal when wet and you don't want to overstuff it to choke off the juice flow.

Thirty feet for $19.46? That will be a lifetime supply, unless I decide to go with tip-coils exclusively. Highly unlikely. LOL.

You would be surprised ;) Besides the fact that the first few may not go perfectly and silica has a tendency to go to pieces if you handle it too much. 30' lasted me about 1 year and really I hardly use it except for the CE5s and the Divers.

Even with bottom coils you are going to be working with 2 inch pieces and then trimming them back. ANy smaller and it is a mess to work with.

Hi all!

Well, according to FT, my Zmax and JM Mech clone will go out this week, the rest is already in route. Yay! 'Bout time! I realize the time issue in shipping, which doesn't bother me. What bugs the crap out of me is to order and pay for something and find out 2 weeks later, they don't have any. That's just wrong!

I'll be with the rest of you lady builders as soon as the stuff in route gets here, like the RBA and RDA I ordered. I can't wait! Guess I have to. I suppose I could start on my protank heads, yeah I know, I've been putting it off. I do have the kanthal, but waiting on silica. Was thinking they would be easier with silica since they are so tiny.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Whew...hate the thought of my wife being right on this one (she is on everything else :p LOL). And I still like the Mad Torro that I have vaped pretty much since I picked up a battery, but as my taste changes I find it's not necessarily my go-to tank any more. Guess I'm doing it right! :toast:

For a 1 1/2 years I vaped mainly bakky flavors - then oops no likey anymore. Now my 2 ADVs are Janet's Heaven (Pear & Blueberry) and Pomegranate. And I never ate a blueberry or pomegranate in my life. Go figure.

(I find the ECF "Search" to be unwieldy)

Ain't that the truth. I do better using google search and restrict the domain to ECF if/when I try searching for something.

Nicely done. :toast:

I have been using this site lately when trying something new: Steam Engine | free calculators for your vaping endeavors

Thanks for that link - it's got everything one could want in one place. Bookmarked!

We can share the rebuilding throne :)

Is this normal?

Quite! In da beginning, I tried da 'bakky flav route and quickly found out dat it t'wasn't fer moi.

Is my wife right and I'm just weird??

YES (brides are always 'right', ya know)!

I have ALWAYS loved the caramel taste, this one is from the local B&M.

Thought I'd might like to try a caramel 'til I attended my first Vape Stock ('11). Da caramel/'bakky vapor cloud was day-um near unbearable! Obviously, it was a very popular combo at dat time.

Will be a looong while before I give caramel a try...

Myrany,

So glad to see da familiar feline back!!!

And therein lies the problem I keep having. I like caramel myself. Did find one. BUT I also found a pile of real stomach turners. Went thru a few before I hit a good one. Every company seems to have a different taste for everything. Just gotta keep on truckin'.

Ok, so I was showing mech mods to my wife (non vaper) to get her opinion on aesthetics. She saw the hammer and liked it, and as she is the boss (as it should be) I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on it, thoughts anyone? Pros and cons?

I think it's very interesting looking. Saw one in person the other week and was surprised at how heavy it was, but it feels natural in your hand like a pipe. The larger mods feel like holding a heavy flashlight to me, but even though this one was heavier it didn't feel as awkward. Nobody is going to mistake it for a cigarette that's for sure!

I have the HCigar Hammer clone and love it. Willie has the one off of fasttech and I think ended up modding it a bit to make it work.

Be warned it is heavy.
