Last night ECF was wonky for us so I took some time to knock one off my vaping bucket list.

Started w/ 10 wraps of 28g kanthal around a 1.5mm rod. And made two of them. I put the formed coil in helping hands jig, torch it glowing, then squeeze together and repeat a couple times.

1st one in place. The leads are wrapped totally around the screws to hold it in place. Left it on the rod while positioning and looping the leads around the screws.

Just enough (I mean just enough) to fit 2 coils w/o them touching each other or the terminal screws. Took a bit of fiddling, using the the rod inside the coil to coax them into position.

Tested it w/ a DVM and it came out to .6Ωs - opps! I was shooting for .8-.9Ω. Oh well, make that 2 check-offs for the vaping bucket list (dual coils & true low sub-Ω). Looked it over real good for short and then lit it up.

Filled it w/ some cotton roll, juiced it up and gave it a test run.

conclusion: this is a build I won't be doing again. It's much more fiddling than a single coil that for sure. But my goodness, for my taste, it's so warm bordering on hot. It certainly packs a kick but much too warm for me.

WOW, this has been some busy days for an ole retired 'art like me... been researching new trucks and settled on a GMC 1500 Crew cab. Fortunate, I had some good mods and back ups for that journey...anyway, back to vapin'.

Got some Nautilus tanks in yesterday and I'm pretty impressed with them, so far. Still lovin' my ProTanks, the Kayfun Lite + and the Trident V2 dripper. Switching back and forth with each...sure is nice to have accumulated so much 'Stuff' that when we take off for a day don't have to worry about gettin' stuck without some nic relief. :D

The Hammer is doin' the deed! @ Russell...I think you are goin' to like the Hammer. I did have to file/sand the brass connections (as recommended by someone else here...CRS issue on the name). :) Ran into a guy that had a Chi You that he 'roached' by setting it down without locking it and he sold me the top cap for it and that fits on the Hammer and has air control there (in case I may need that )

Off again today to finalize sale on our other truck. Really likin' the new one, too.

Enjoy that truck, Willie. The number of new vaping gear coming out everyday is astounding. I read what someone is using or has bought and I have to google it to see what it is. I guess that's a good thing, though, huh? Vapers have a wide array of choices to suit everyone.

The only time I ever had dry hit problems were with the ego type clearo's. Never had one with an i30. So I prefer top coil. All the bottoms I ever tried were really airy and I don't like airy. So, different strokes for different folks, eh? :)

Now if someone would come out with a glass tank for the i30 I'd be in heaven. :) And no, the i30 x.1 sucks. Very airy. Just like a kanger or other BC's.

The glass tanks are my preference, too. IMO, the plastic ones just can't compare. I just feel better using glass, anyway.

Lilac glad you are feeling a little better and hope you continue to improve every day. Willie glad to hear you're getting a new truck and enjoying the vape gear. Its so much fun when things work....even if you have to fiddle a little. I've been having a terrible time with ECF as well, hopefully they will get it fixed soon. I agree the glass tanks just taste better so use them whenever I can.

I believe that a while back in this Forum, people were discussing a joose called Tiger's Blood, and that a recipe or two was traded back and forth for DIY purposes.

Believe me (and I'm sure you will once you hear my guess), I do not remember what ingredients were named.

The reason I called y'all here today was to tell you what the very good Lucky 7 Vapes "Tiger's Blood" joose tastes like to me. I used the entirely scientific method of taking a clearo that was already 2/3 full of different joose and topped it off with Tiger's Blood for my exacting analysis.

Tiger's Blood tastes like tangerine rind, clove and a little mint. It is so decreed.

Hi All, just a quick fly by. Welcome to all the new folks. Just wanted to respond on the Tiger's Blood.

I make mine 7% Capella Watermelon, 7% TPA Strawberry, 2% Cocoanut (not sure who it's from) and 3% EM. I make all my juice 50/50 PG/VG and currently down to 3mg nic.

So no Tangerine, clove or mint :D I still love this one and do vape some of it almost every day. Hope every one is doing well - but I got run time to start dinner.

lol ... that rocks. Those are some clean coils, nice work.

I did my first dual on my dripper last weekend shooting for a little over 1Ω came out the same as yours at .6. Holy crap, searing pain is the best way to describe it, won't be doing that again. I'm not a sub ohm kind of guy I guess. Had to do 15 wraps x2 to get it up to 1.3. I respect that install I did this with tons of room and feed through anchors and it was still a royal PIA.

That ain't no shabby build right there. Nice work doing the lead bends to the center post. When I have to fit a micro coil, i like to do the bends and line it up for fit, etc. Then I torch it and compress the coils. If I do the torching/compressing 1st, the tails/leads get brittle and I've broken them when twisting onto the screw post.

Yepper! Wasn't that 1st hit on a dual coil sub-Ω an eye opening. Yikes! Did I put a lit match in my mouth or what.

I'm thinking the double coils would be double the trouble:laugh: I have good luck with my single mini coil on my KFL's so think I'm going to stick with that.

IMO - you certainly aren't missing anything staying w/ a single micro-coil. I could only recommend it to someone with masochistic feelings for their throat. I can't imagine how those folks in videos do those massive lung hits on low ohm dual-coils. Yikes!

Double the trouble for sure! The good thing - when I tear it down, it's going to be a snap to replace it w/ a single coil.

I like your coil maker too Mike. I just have to break down a remember to buy one. The post for holding atty is connected? Looking for a link on that if you remember where you got it.

The coil maker I got on an off-site FB group buy site. Don't think I'm supposed to post links to a FB site like that, so PM me if want the link. It came with .8, 1, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5mm rods that screw into it, and a 510 threaded hole in the side for mounting the atty. I use one of these for the long extender. It's just a 1" long 510-510 extender. I got it along w/ my very 1st e-cig purchase here:

https://www.cignot.com/product_p/ego-chg-adp.htm

I didn't know at the time I got the coil jig - but there's an ECF member - darkzero, that was making them 1st, I think. He may still be doing it - I don't know.

You are too funny. Just for the heck of it I pulled out the recipe for Tiger's Blood. It's got strawberry, watermelon, coconut and sweetener! So, what was the joose you already had in your clearo?

Hey there Kari!! Glad you stoppd by. I did make your Tiger's Blood and went Ah Ha! That's what those popsicles tasted like as a kid!! Unfortunately I didn't like them!! Very funny because your recipe was right on.

Oh you're not a fuddy duddy.... we have become a disposable culture and we all need to work on that... its not just vape gear but about everything we use these days. Hubby and I were just talking the other day how when we got married $10,000 would have bought a very top notch vehicle and what we pay for vehicles today would have bought a house. Then unfortunately most items just aren't even made to last but a few years...

Boy isn't that the truth! I can hardly believe that a LOT of vehicles have stickers higher now that what I paid for my first house and a large percentage of them are more than my parents paid for the house I grew up in which was a big nice, brick house. Right now middle class wages are not even close to keeping up with the cost of what some things are rising. I heard a guy on the local news say the other day that he talked to a financial planner about what he would need to have saved to put his 3 children through college and was told $750,000.00. That is obscene!

Here's a link to the search results for "SID" at madvapes. You'll see both sized tubes with and without the end cap. They also have the end caps separate but you save a bit if you get the tube and cap together.
Search results for: 'SID'
You could even buy a 18500 tube, end cap and easy head and get a 1100 mah eGo type mod with replaceable battery or add the easy head to the full sized SID tube to get a large lightweight 3000 mah eGo type mod.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2

SID is my first and still my main mod and I did NOT know this, thanks!
