I tried several coils, the 510 connection barrel is bent so that the coil sits crooked and the bottom post makes contact with the side of the barrel. I am pretty sure I bent it when I had it on my ego spinner and the lanyard clip came loose and it hit the floor.

How old is the tank? If memory serves I believe they had problems with the base of some and redesigned it (made the 510 connector stronger). You could even order replacement bases. Dont know if that's still true.

Sent with my arthritic thumbs with proofreading help from the hound!

You are too funny. Just for the heck of it I pulled out the recipe for Tiger's Blood. It's got strawberry, watermelon, coconut and sweetener! So, what was the joose you already had in your clearo?
Since I've been trying out my new jooses, the initial content of the clearo consisted of varying quantities of:
Newport, Pear, Apricot, Menthol and tobacco Road. My senses are so finely tuned, however, that I was able to properly identify the components of the Tiger's Blood, just as I said: strawberry, watermelon, coconut and sweetener. Har-de-har-har! (For those playing along at home, my actual guess was tangerine rind, clove and mint.)

I got my brief claim to fame today -- my letter to the editor in response to some pro and con (my response being mostly to the con) opinion pieces about vaping that the Grand Forks, ND paper ran last week in honor of the Minnesota legislature wanting to slap restrictions on vaping.

SHARON, N.D. — I found the recent opinion pieces on e-cigarettes very interesting (Page F1, March 23).

I smoked for more than 40 years and finally have been able to quit, thanks to these devices.

In the past, I had tried all of the officially approved methods to quit smoking. But I never quit wanting to smoke, and I always started up again as soon as I was under stress.

This time, I haven’t wanted to smoke again, despite several very stressful events in my life.

I would particularly like to respond to some of Dr. Eric Johnson’s points (“E-cigs’ risks are real while benefits are scant,” column).

There is research being done about the safety and efficacy of using personal vaporizers. I’d strongly suggest that Johnson should read some of it before downplaying “vaping” as a method for quitting smoking.

I wish that there was more research being done, but as I am sure Johnson knows, research takes money and time.

For a quick listing of some of the recent studies from around the world, I would suggest that he start with The Ultimate List of E-Cig Studies: Are E-Cigs Actually Safe? at onvaping.com.

Yes, the site could be considered a biased source, but the science cited is not.

E-cigarettes may have been invented 35 years ago, but they have not been widely used until recently. I regret the fact that the big tobacco companies are taking over what has been an independent industry, and I am afraid that many of the regulations being proposed will drive many of the Mom and Pop businesses out of business.

But I suspect that Big Tobacco entering the field will result in more research, not less, since the companies can afford to sponsor it.

The many flavors, colors and styles are being marketed to adults. If adults didn’t appreciate flavored products, there would be no use for any alcohol other than plain grain spirits, would there?

I participate on the Electronic Cigarette Forum, and most of the adults there prefer sweet flavors. I also have seen pictures there of Hello Kitty themed devices posted by the adults who choose and use them.

Yes, I’m still a nicotine user, but nicotine is not the cause of the health problems caused by cigarettes. This has been shown in the studies of the pharmaceutical nicotine replacement products.

E-cigarettes have the potential to help a lot of people who haven’t been able to quit smoking with the methods previously available. This is not a minimal benefit; it is a major one.

FANTASTIC letter.
I'm a cautious person though and only disagree with big tobacco/pharma getting into e-cigs.

You see me say it first:
The studies sponsored by these companies are going to have conclusions that will allow them to run the other people out of business resulting in an effective monopoly.

Yeah, the only reason for that phrasing was in specific rebuttal to some of the points in the op-ed that I was responding to. The doctor in question had said

"It’s disappointing that e-cigs have been marketed for more than 35 years and have yet to collect or publish any significant data to show they are safe for users or that they actually help people quit.
Considering these products increasingly are manufactured and marketed by Big Tobacco, I’m not anticipating we’ll see such data any time soon."

among may other completely ignorant and misleading comments, and I was responding specifically to that.

This is his opinion, http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/eric-johnson-e-cigs-risks-are-real-while-benefits-are-scant

Ever had that time where you bought 2 tanks to work and neither one was the one you wanted to vape on? Happened to me tonight. My Vivi Nova was giving me fits and my EDV just wasn't tasting right and to tell you the truth I kind of wanted an analog. But not to the point where I was tempted to buy a pack. I just hit the Protank clone and got over it like a big boy who messed up a little.

What do you do when you mess up??

Edit to fix my every day vape abbreviation.

Very well written letter and thank you for standing up to the ignorance. Many think just because the vapors temporarily resemble smoke that it must be harmful as well, we just need to educate people ahead of them doing things counter productive to more and more getting of the tobacco and on the vape! And yes, I think very nearly everyone on this forum is opposed to big tobacco jumping in the game but I guess we should have seen that one coming. Keep up with advocating! :toast:

Interesting that he has no clue where to look for data. Just don't use them because it "may" be bad. Continue smoking. Or take some of the drugs marketed to quitting that may kill you. Brilliant.

Anyone else notice the advertisement for the concealed carry class to the right of the article? Look at Florida to see how many ppl that has killed due to texting in a theater...

I vape sour flavors. Like lime aid, or key lime, freckled lemonaid, Arnold Palmer... Etc.

marketed for over 35 years?
The first PV was INVENTED IN 1963, but big tobacco blocked it real fast. The modern PV was developed in 2007, I think.

Great letter Amoret.
Well stated, and I hope he got a couple million just like it.
We just had a "close call" here in our state, so I know what we are up against.
It isn't pretty dealing with the uninformed, closed minded, ignorant, prejudice, jerks, that seem to worm their way into power.
Thanks for taking a stand, and expressing it so well.

Not sure what you are trying to say. Concealed carry didn't kill anyone. Some cranky old ....... killed someone. He would have done it without the concealed carry. A law has no bearings on someone's actions. The concealed carry laws have saved millions of people and lowered crime rates. I am an NRA instructor and work with lots of ordinary people including little old ladies that don't want to become victims.

Anyone that wants to get into 2nd amendment discussion it should be moved to the back porch.

It happens to us sometimes, fortunately not often. I usually have 3 devices with different flavors with me when I go out. You were right to vape through it and distracting yourself might help until you can vape something different. Many people find that having several different flavors that you rotate helps with the sudden dislike of one of them. I always have 2 devices with me and often times several more, but I have a purse to keep them in so that helps. The other day I only had 2 with me when I dropped one and the tank shattered. yep, back ups for the back ups are always a good idea. Isn't it strange when you think that we smoked all those years with almost no flavor choices!
