Oh no - that's certainly not good. Worse for me so far, was a mech in my pocket and the fire button stuck. All of a sudden I had that lighter fluid leak burning feeling on my thigh. hmmm? I didn't have my Zippo in my pocket. I reached in to get it and the atty was so hot I could just about hold it to get it our of my pocket.

Coulda bin worse. Coulda had the zippo in yer pocket! ;)

I hate ProVape. :glare:

Now that I have my second little ProVari and given it a name and all, they come out with the color I really wanted. They do have some very sharp new colors out. I really like the red because when I lose it, indoors or out, it’s easy to spot from a distance without having to put on my glasses. They also have a new load of blems, including dragons (sob), in the clearance section. Annnd, to top it all off, they are running a sweepstakes to win $100 of their eliquid. ProVape E-Cigarettes: Buy Electronic Cigarettes & Vapor Smokeless Cigs

You have to love ECF. Feeling bad, couldn’t sleep and the General vaping Discussion was dead. Headed to the newbie section to see if I could help anybody with my limited knowledge. Jumped in with both feet, did a little research, got some links and posted. Next thread I looked had Ocelot saying she thought the person was a legit newbie. Another knowledgeable, witty person I haven’t seen in a while was also there. Hilarity ensued. The OP was “moved on.” Learned about a lot of things, none having to do with vaping. Just as Ocelot was about to impart her wisdom about Kayfuns and other toppers, I thought I better hit the sack because it was very late. Logged off, couldn’t sleep, managed to see the moon go into full lunar eclipse—at 4am. / :D Went straight to that thread this morning to see what sacred knowledge had been imparted and the thread had been deleted.

Being a #20 lover also, OUCH! Check your PM...

PM received, will reply ASAP.... thanks again.

re: an overfilled Zippo... Makes my left thigh burn just thinking about it... usta hate when that happened! I wonder how many smokers-turned-vapers still have their good old Zippo(s). I do, but they're languishing in the "collectibles" box on the top shelf of my safe.

How do you like da 69 Mod?

It's difficult finding a telescopic with a side-fire switch. Since I use a Kick & 18350 for a smaller out&about, been looking for another tele.

The 69 is a good "substitute" for the #20, but the 20 just has a special place in my heart. The 69 seems durable enough so far, has less measured voltage drop under a 1.8Ω load than an unmodded 20, much safer fire mechanism, more adjustable and versatile, but longer by ~11mm (93.3 vs 104.4mm)... don't sound like much, but it makes a difference to me. Also, the steel of the 69 seems a bit "softer" than the 20. It's already showing scratches and wear after a couple of months, whereas my 20 doesn't have a single scratch on it... and it has not been pampered for the last 17 months... in fact, it and a Protank 2 survived a drop from tabletop height onto a concrete pool deck, among many other faux pas.

I found a #20 for sale new some weeks ago, can't remember where now... probably 'cause they wanted $45 for it.

If you're ok with bottom side buttons, I've been pretty happy with both my EHPro EAMod (Electric Angel clopy - that's somewhere between a clone and a copy :) ) and a recently acquired KTS - similar to the GGTS EHPro GGTS but with more gold. (From a local B&M, so no doubt out of Chine.)

I hate ProVape. :glare:

I love Provape. Janet broke yet another topper on her Provari. Just the threaded portion of the topper was stuck inside the 510 threads of the Provari. This happened a couple-few times before and I was able to get the broken threads unscrewed and all was well again. This time - nothing I tried was working and I was concerned about messing up the positive button of the Provari.

So - I opened a ticket w/ 'them', they gave me an RMA for return, a few days later they said $10 for the service fee, and we had it back within a week. Now considering they shipped it back Priority Mail w/ Signature Confirmation and didn't charge for postage (which had to be at least $6) - so for ~$4 to get it fixed I was quite pleased.

I've still got a bunch of Zippo's up in my desk drawer. I love Zippo too. Over the years I've send a few back to them because the lid hinge pin broke. For free, they'd replace the pin, put a completely new lighter assembly in the case and send it back to me - all covered by life time warranty. The 1st time I did that, they called me and asked if the case had sentimental meaning to me - if yes, they'd replace the pin, if no they'd send me a completely new lighter.

I started feeling guilty taken advantage of them, so then I just started using a piece of a fat paperclip as replacement pins for the lid hinge.

Mike that is why bottom button mods and I just don't get along:D

Ah - what's a little risk in life - makes it more exciting. (or I could just lock the switch when I put it in my pocket - duh me!)

Only problem I have with bottom feed button is a broken pinky finger (when I was 5) and arthritis in the back of my hands (from age 16) just makes it too hard to use without a bit of pain. Tried one of those button-ring at the top ones when I was in a vape shop... Same issue.
So unless it's a pipe with a short battery or a side button whatever... I just don't buy them.
Loving the pipe with the magnetic button though. Nice and smooth and never a misfire.
The k1000 is nice too, but is metal and I just like the feel of wooden pipes.

Oh no, no, no! I love ProVape, just hate that that they have all this very cool stuff when I have no money. The contest is free though. :) Their repair service is one reason why I went with them. How can you beat their repairs? They are excellent as long as you don't ask about a bum charger. I just need to rob a bank.

Good tip!... hadn't thought of that.

It's overcast here today and I have a little extra time, so I broke out the light box and set it up on the deck table:

L-R
Aspire K1 on iTaste VV3
Protank 2 w/ Aero base, drilled out air holes to 1.40mm, on a Sigelei #20 mod
3D "auto-dripper", drilled out air hole, on Nemesis mod in hybrid mode
EHPro KFL+ v2 "second edition" on brass Sentinel mod

On the KFL+, you can see light through the air holes as I was referring to in the previous post.

Here's my new Davide on my fairly new 69 mod:

And a reflection of my patio umbrella in the Davide:

Y'all have a nice day!

That photography is gorgeous. I'm sorry about the premature demise of your #20 but it sounds like Iffy might have something up his snorkel that will help you out. I hope so anyway.

When I can't sleep I generally come here. However lately it appears the after midnight brigade has solved their sleeping difficulties and no one is around late anymore.

Damn you Matt I turned my PV's up to 4.2 and I'll be darned if they didn't taste better. Time will tell but you are never too old to learn a trick or 2.

I've found that they just idle along at low voltage and we think they taste "ok" then a while back I ask myself what all this low ohm high wattage stuff was all about so I started going up a watt at a time and got up to where I am now (14.5 watts, 4.86v with a 1.5ohm coil) and it had much better flavor. Now I am afraid to go much higher but am going to wind myself a subohm coil one of these days and see what that leads to. Maybe I should seek professional help! :)

heh - I knew what you meant!
my biggest reason for not getting the current VW one is price. I have one, and I like it, but it's VV.. I use it at home only just because of the cost of the darned thing.

Well I liked it for a little while but while trying to keep enough juice in to not taste burnt I flooded my Kayfun so went back to my 1.4 ohm and 3.5v. Works well for me. I use a 50/50 blend in everything. Sooo much for that. Everyone is different just like everything else but one thing I am really impressed with my $25 Kayfun no question there.

So I need to do a special thanks to DancingHeretik for being assertive for me  about getting a liter of 100 mg nicotine broken down into bottles I can safely handle, and a shout out to My Freedom Smokes for doing so. Today I got my liter of nicotine already repackaged into the very reasonably priced 125 ml bottles I ordered with it, all correctly labeled, well packaged and ready for all but one to go directly into the freezer, individual bubble wrap and zip lock bag and all.

So now I can continue on with my DIY with reasonably priced nicotine and very little risk, since I'll just be putting it into a wide mouth pint canning jar with the pg and vg and using it already diluted from there.

Someone 'pointed' me to this thread. IMO - it's pretty darn good. It's not for everyone here on the porch but some might enjoy it. It's a good discussion on moving away from sub-ohm's with mechs w/ the influx of 30, 40 ,50, 100 watt devices. Gets 'technical' but the OP makes really good understandable analogies.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-vaping-discussion/611315-my-thoughts-about-sub-ohm-latest-vv-vw-devices.html

Thanks Mike. Great thread. Hope it doesn't devolve into the usual pissing contest.
