So you think cotton is better for chain vaping? I am presently using Rayon and am getting dryer (not exactly dry) hit sometimes in my kayfun. Do you think I would be better off using cotton?

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 Android phone on a keyboard that waaayyy too small (or my thumbs are waaayyy too big).
I have good luck with KGD in my KFLs. The biggest "mod" that helped with it for me was getting the full clear M tanks. The ID is a little bigger and let's the juice flow better down over to the juice channels. I found this out from my wife's KF mini clones. You couldn't even get an air bubble to move to the bottom of the tank when turned up side down. Full clear tanks fixed that! I have 2 on my original KFL+and v2. Unfortunately the ones I got from EVCigs,$7 each, are smaller ID than the 2 I got from :ohmy:Vaperev, true KFL parts, $20 each!
Part of the keeping up with chain vapping is the design of the Taifun! Wick goes right into the juice. No channels to restrict flow! Some what like a Kanger coil on a large scale!:2c:

Dang Mike, I didn't know you had that many KF types, wow. Gotta say though I have had very good luck with my clones and the real one as far as leaking goes. They've been good for me, beginners luck I'm sure. Mike's been coaching me on the side. Using his 28g a on the 2mm screwdriver 7 wraps.
Yes Tracy, I have that many! I think you saw my vape stand full of KFLs, didn't you?

Oh, you were just looking at the stand, that's right!

Welcome to the porch LMS62! What are you vaping on? How long have you been vaping?
Thanks! I have been vaping for about 2 1/2 years now...I guess time flys when you're having fun, lol. I currently have a few Provaris and normally use my KFLs or Russian91. So far my setups work great for me, but as I'm sure you know, the shopping never ends! :)

Getting verified for the ECF classies has cost me more than a dollar or two over the past few years. I was away from the forum for a few months after my Dad died this past July, spending most of my time clearing his house to get it ready to sell (he and Mom had been there for 40 years...lot's of stuff to sort through and move). First day back on the forum and I bought some things from the classies...lol. Just can't keep myself out of trouble.

I'm not 'diss-ing' rayon, but for me I went back to KGD cotton from my R91's and Taifun. I just couldn't get the proper amount of rayon after a number of attempts. Either too little and dry hits, or too much and lack of flavor. For me KGD is more forgiving - just need 'about' the right amount.

I separate the KGD pads in 1/2. Then cut 1cm strips. Then cut the 1cm strip in 1/2. This amount of KGD works well for me with 2mm I.D. coils. (And I get about 24 wicks from 1 pad of KGD).

Nice to have you join us on the porch. Well, you've seen some changing in the vaping 'world' too if you've been vaping for 2 1/2 years. I started of 3 years ago w/ Joytech 510 stick batts and now have 3 Provari's and 1/2 dozen mechs. I haven't ventured into the big watt boxes 'yet'.

Welcome back! Not sure which area of ECF is more dangerous to my bank account (and relationship w/ my wife) - the classies or the co-ops.

I using the full clear tanks as well. It vapes fine I just have to remember not to overfill it. Need to leave a little larger bubble. I find if the bubble is too small it kind of gets vapor locked and won't wick right until the bubble get bigger. I just plug the air inlets and draw on it and it will pull in juice. Have to repeat that a few times until the bubble gets larger then it draws and wicks fine. Learn something new everyday.

Yeah, they seem to vape the best when there almost empty most of the time. I have noticed, if filling from the bottom, to get it just past the top of the chamber. Anymore and your priming it a lot to get the wicks wet!

I've been temped to dremmel the juice channels a bit. Just haven't got up the nerve to cut one up yet! Maybe one of the R91s

Thanks Mike! Yeah, when I started vaping there weren't really any vape shops, at least not in my area...usually the best you could do was hit up the overpriced kiosks in the mall, or online. A lot sure has changed, even in just 2 or 3 years. I started like most people did, first the cig-a-likes, then the spinner type batteries, etc. I'm happy to see the vaping industry growing like it is.

I used a harbor freight diamond bit on a drill press at low speed, and just gently pushed the side of the bit into the existing channels to deepen and widen them. It wasn't scary at all compared to drilling out the air holes or center pin. I deepened it a little, and then vaped on it a while, and deepened it a little more, and finally on the third time around I got it where I liked it.

One thing to be aware of, it wicks a lot better but it is more subject to leaking if you leave it on its side. So, don't do that :)

Mike has tried a lot of different wicking materials and they all seem to have some kind of taste for awhile. The KGD is the only one that I can totally taste the juice clean right away. Doesn't seem to be a "break in" time issue at least for my tastes.
I haven't tried KGD, but cotton and rayon definitely have that wet T-shirt taste for several hours. Then it goes away, and I'm good for a week. A few times, I've just rinsed the rayon without rewicking, and it usually comes out almost pure white, with no taste. I don't even bother drying it, I just soak it with juice and vape on it for a few minutes. There's no vapor at all to speak of while the water is evaporating, but then the wick gets fully saturated with juice, and back to normal without the breakin.

Yeah, I remember you saying that a while back. I don't have access to a drill press. Will have to free hand it if I ever do it! That would be the scary part. I'd have to put it on a mod and put it in the vice. Then use the dremmel or hand drill. I was a cabinet maker, not a machinist so this is a little out of my wheel house.

You should try the KGD man. It's a big improvement IMHO the Koh Gen Do web site has it for $12 for a box but they only ship UPS $10 give or take $23 for a years supply of wicks.

Had to go into the hospital today to pay for a test that was being done next door. An elderly gentleman laboriously walked by, tubes under his nose, hauling an oxygen tank. First thought, naturally, was that I felt terrible for him. Second thought was he was an ex-smoker. (Don’t ask me why, he just looked like it and around here it’s a good guess.) Third thought was this is exactly how BT, BP and BG want us to end up. First suck us dry for the tax money, then suck what’s left for the drugs, then kill us early so they don’t have to pay out all the social security. The point is, people do not need to end up like that anymore from smoking. Vaping is an amazing tool and the FDA is going to take it away from us if they can. How can these people live with themselves?

hey Wolfenstark, welcome to the porch. I know you've been here a bit, but I have been MIA with work and stuff and more stuff. Click my sig and take a look around at Nickoticket, I believe they ship to OZ, I haven't gotten a bad juice yet from them.

Just checking in, good conversations about the KFL's, still liking mine. I just took all the air control screws out of them and have added good wide bore tips and they are doing great. 28ga on 2mm screwdriver, 7wraps comes out to about 1.5 +- and all is good. Messing with organic cotton, but have some rayon and KGD on the way to try. Also good tip on checking to see if the air holes on the ELPro's are lined up. Fortunately mine are as I wouldn't really have thought of that. Gotta get back to work so, check in later. I swear I was almost caught up yesterday and then had to feed, came back and there were 5 more pages. You guys are fast.

Have a great day all:D ohhhh I passed my 6 mo, look at that savings, oh yeah right, I spent half that I'm sure, but it was/is fun!! :p

Congratulations on the six months! Feels awesome doesn't it? They have been talking a lot lately haven't they? Interesting stuff though, learning a lot. :)
