Everybody here laughed when coilers first came out, though saw the benefit for people with bad or shaky hands. Now we all use them.

Nope, not all.... ;)

A while back the BBC had a project going to record the experiences of people who lived through the Blitz (a aunt did buy she'd passed away then and, regrettably, I know none of her stories) and I believe, WWII experiences in England. It's a crying shame more isn't being done around the world to record oral histories.

Actually, there's a lot of oral history work being done. Mr. Goog came up with over 5.8 million hits, here's one:
The Vietnam Center and Archive: The Oral History Project

So then, you're admitting you missed the boat?

Nope, didn't miss it at all, chose to not go up the gangplank. Really don't like single button interface mods. But if they get the Radius down to $39.....

Been using brass tips for years .... maybe that explains the brainfarts of late.

Gotta have a brain for that condition, so it's ok

This weekend was wild, with flash sales and age verification notices and new product introductions. I ordered in the neighborhood of 1200 mls of my favorite juices (to add to an already significant stash), in anticipation (blind hope?) of action by Judge Berman Jackson and/or congress in the next several months.

There was little press - none from the mainstream media, that I saw - on A Billion Lives premier. There are hundreds of thousands of vapers who appear to be either oblivious or apathetic. Ditto, from some shop owners. What will it take?

My Vaperversary has come and gone. It seemed like a non event, given this craziness. I haz a sad. :(

I haz a sad for you, and also for all the people out there that still believe the regs are just about child proof caps, mixing requirements and labeling.

Hammer + chizel + teeny guy.
Akchooley all my P2.5's complain after a week or two. Dunno about the p3 yet. But even when they do complain, the contacts don't look bad at all. Go figger.
No teeny guys, here. But my P3's have gotten quite stupid: not one has an IQ above 70, no matter what I do. I think it's time to open a ticket and send them back to the mothership for cleaning or overhaul. When they come home, I'll be a better mother and bathe them more frequently!

First, HAPPY VAPEVERSARY!

And good on the stash build, hope it's enough! I don't expect Congress to do a thing before the next Congress is sworn in, and don't have high hopes for then... and the courts move exceedingly slow.

Perhaps as more and more businesses fold, people will start to wake up. Which doesn't help the newly bankrupt and unemployed...

Thanks, David.

As to the stash, it's enough. I have a lot of nic in the freezer. A lot! It's just that these are my favorite flavors, and are made by small purveyors. Eventually, I'll get close enough to their recipes that my versions will suffice.

There are test kits you can purchase that lets you swab the brass and test for lead.

EPA-Recognized 3M™ LeadCheck™ Swabs | 3MLeadCheck

This looks like a good thing to have. Lots of uses around the house in addition to testing vaping gear.

I looked around the net for information. There was quite a lot mostly related to faucets and beer making equipment. What I picked up was that machined brass parts can have quite a lot of lead smeared on the surface from the machining process, and in small pits in the surface. That's where the danger comes from. Apparently lead further into the body of the brass will leach out only in minute quantities. Faucet valves made from brass containing lead for example will typically release lead for only a few weeks, it tails off to almost undetectable levels after a while. If brass with surface lead is plated without removing the lead it can cause defects in the plating and leach out.

There were several suggestions for getting rid of the surface lead. Industrially they use a variety of obscure acids which would probably be hard to get. Beer makers and people concerned about faucets suggested either acetic acid, or a mixture of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. That will get rid of any lead smeared on the surface during manufacturing, and from any small pits open to the surface. In inferior brass the lead could be in pits large enough that getting rid of it can leave holes large enough to feel as surface roughness with your finger.

I'm going to try that because I really like the brass drip tips. You have to leave the acid on for a couple of minutes only. If you leave it longer it will start to pull out copper, which will expose more lead. You know that's happened if the surface starts to turn green/blue. I guess the fancy acid that manufacturers use doesn't mess with the copper.

Happy Vapeversary LB. Wish times were better, so you could really enjoy it.

I placed yet another order last night w/ Origin Vape for spare parts. I thought I was comfortable w/ our stash of KFL Lites, nano's, and V4's. Then in a weak moment (alright a couple-few weak moments) I've bought 4 KFL V5s, 4 KFL mini's, 2 iStick Pico's, and more Nauty heads.

If I happened to have been a wee bit remiss in P3 cleaning (not sayin I have been. Hypothetical, ya know), what might I use to clean off a lot of gunk?

Well, not sure how bad it is, but here are some links to what I use for cleaning regulated mods. :)
CRC Contact Cleaner
Double sided Acid Brush
