Jup, Deb is quite proactive about her affection for you.

The whole flashlight? Why not just the suspect batt?
Take it back out. If the battery overheats, so will the case it's in. The flashlight is likely ok.

Muffed that royally. We used the same new flashlight/18650 combo to do the dog's ears and it started to heat up again. Switched the battery to the good, old flashlight a while after that and left it on for 5 minutes. No warming up. THEN the new flashlight was re-homed in the trash. But I did get the message posted before another tree fell on the power lines and I sat in the dark for several hours, so there is that.
It was the case that we felt warming up.
