I'm surprised at the number of people who think the regs are to do with child-proof caps and under-age sales. Some of those who seemed marginally better informed still didn't appreciate the longer term implications; the predicate date impacts weren't on their radar. Most everyone with whom I spoke was visibly upset; those who tweet said they would. Very few people said they'd written to their legislators, but they were happy to complete and sign the form letter.

We live near Ft Belvoir, so lots of military in the area. Those folks can help a lot. And they're very willing to do so.
The e-cig industry is too disorganized to make a strong media and PR push, so the ANTZ get away with saying just about anything. Caps and age restrictions are just about all the FDA's press releases talk about and, of course, who dare oppose protecting the cheeeldreen?

Journalism in this country is a dying profession. Press releases are regurgitated as objective facts and, should an actual in-depth treatment of a given topic somehow find its way into the press, people disregard it as TL/DR. (That's assuming they ever read any news articles at all--most people don't).

See, I warned you I was grumpy.

I can't even imagine vaping at .1 ohm... Wow!!!

It's not as bad as it seems, Semi... the 0.1Ω coils are Ni200 and are only to be used in TC mode. It starts out at a relatively high wattage, but quickly drops down to around 5-6 watts to maintain the set temp.

Precisely! I never understood the scope of this until shortly after I started vaping a year ago. I was just beginning to explore the forums, and one day my local news had a story on their website "Study shows e-cigs Lead to Teen Smoking" yada yada. I thought, well that seems to be the complete opposite of what the forums are saying about teen smoking rates being down the last couple years.

So I clicked the link that was included in the story. The link that led to the actual summary of the study in question. And right there in the first paragraph, in the words of the study author "Due to limitations in the methodology used, this study can not be used to determine if there is a causal relationship..." How could they completely miss that when they wrote that report? It didn't take any kind of expertise to see how wrong the report was, it only took reading the first paragraph of the summary.

Come to find out, every single news report nationwide on this study was practically word for word of a press release from some anti vaping group. My eyes were opened, they didn't even do the most basic level of research, journalism truly is dead.

But that would not have been news. Terror and all that is bad drives the news. Yes we get happy news sometimes, but it is dwarfed by the bad news...

Yea and that is the problem Hawk is right and it should not be like that.

I know... one of the main reasons that I don't watch the news very often. It's mostly just depressing and 90% or more is inaccurate anyway... At least if I get my news online, I can fact check stuff if I'm interested. Shouldn't have to, but I'm aware of the world that we live in...

@bigdancehawk, I spend a fair amount of time in the regulatory threads, and a wee bit more reading cases and briefs. You're not that grumpy.

I'm not surprised that the general, non-vaping population think deeming is all about the cheeldreen. ANTZ has been all over that for a long while. What I do find surprising is the number of vapers who are oblivious. Yes, I know most don't hang around forums, but they do read. On occasion. I think.

Ima let this go now, for a bit. It makes my head hurt. :(

@LittleBird , so glad you could help that woman. And that you can volunteer and do this for others. New people (even some experienced!) need guidance and help and since the shops can't help anymore, any and all volunteers are needed to assist and teach.

A real quick HOWDY to @bigdancehawk and welcome back to @Bolivar !!!

Yea and that is the problem Hawk is right and it should not be like that.
Ironically, exactly the issue I'm dealing with in my ongoing push with the local scene & ANTZ at this very moment! Some may be following "What's Wrong....." and this month's edition has an article submitted by a member of the State TP&CP (Tobacco Prevention & Control Program) applauding the annual State Fair commission for banning ALL smoking AND vaping (attendees & vendors) within the fair grounds and within 50 feet of ALL gates. Of course he states that it is so wonderful that the fair is "protecting the children" and EVERYONE else and goes on to say, "No one can deny the IRREFUTABLE evidence that SHS is DEADLY."

Well, I've got some "refuting" to do so if you don't see me around for a couple of days, you'll know where I'll be. ;) One other thing that chaps my hide is the ad the ANTZ placed on the front page (in the usual spot) Stating that they are providing NRTs for free, so I called the number and asked if this was a one time thing for my day at the fair or was it free for as long as I needed them. The reply was, "Well, first we need to get you enrolled in a program. That takes about 5 to 10 minutes and then we can provide you with the appropriate NRT for 2 to 4 weeks. Now that's only about half of the time we recommend you use them , which is usually about 8 weeks, but with the money you save from not smoking you can save up and buy your own for the last 4 weeks or however long you feel you need them." My reply was that I am actually already tobacco free, I just wanted to find out if the "free" was for as long as needed.

I wanted to add, EIGHT WEEKS!!! That's RIDICULOUS! I quit smoking the same day I started vaping with modern gear!!!, But, since, as some may know, I have an ongoing battle with the ads too and didn't want to "tip my hand".

A MEGGA tip of the hat to @LittleBird too for all she's doing!!! YOU GO GURL!!!

Okay, off to spread unrest and discontent!!!

Well my Kabukis finally shipped from FT. Only took 20 days. I found a good profile for my DNA75 and SS316L wire. That was a job I'm using a profile from a guy named Jaquith it SS316L v4. It's to my liking only have to use 415F and get a good vape. I'm so used to the way the SX does things these DNA's are a lot more hassle especially for SS316L. But I got it set up the way I want it, haven't put any custom screens on yet. Theres a lot of computer work to get them to work the way you want them to but once you do they have a little smoother vape then the SX I wouldn't say better but smoother.

A little hassle upfront but it's totally worth it to me. I don't use other peeps csv files, I just dial it in using the device monitor to check my changes. Profiles are easy enough to set up. I set mine up for Ti, Nife52, 316ss, 316LSs, 430ss and Kanthal. I haven't changed anything since.
I like the dna200 dc-dc buck/boost TC circuit and think it has the flavor edge over the slower and dirtier output of the SX Q pwm TC circuit.
Is there somewhere in the software that I can speed up the SX450j firing time upon wake up. As it stands it takes >.5 sec to fire. The dna200 fires instantly upon wake up, something I've gotten used to I guess.

I retract any endorsement for the above linked heads. DO NOT purchase 'em. They are not of Aspire quality nor life span!

Aspire BVCs only from here on out...

Can you (or some friendly soul :) ) rebuild them?

Actually, I have several Nautili rebuild bases that I'd need a micron microscope and robotic capability to build upon. So to answer your questions, doubt it and probably yes.

Even at <$0.91 each, I be buying no mo'. Will rapidly exhaust the remaining heads in short term due to their life span. Will say, dey ain't too bad at first... but, I'll stay wid da Aspires!
Hopefully, no one 'ran out' and ordered 'em! If so, mea maxima culpa...

The Nautilus was about the best I found for a clearomizer, at the time. I picked up a Kayfun RTA and played with rebuilding and using it and, then, more of them showed up and replaced the Nautilus' in rotation.

Rebuilding is pretty darn easy. Wire and cotton will always be around.

There are, Kenna. I go when the store isn't really busy (with lots of regulars). Saturday morning is one such time. We also did a letter to congressmen that is available for customers to sign. The owner makes a copy of each letter, and pops the originals in the mail each week. (Got that idea from another area B&M.) And, of course, I ask every single customer I see whether they are aware of the situation, what it means, and if they would be willing to post on social media. That'd be my talons coming out... :)
    You are awesome!
