~And then~

I took the KF with me in the truck, life was good for about 150 miles, then it started leaking like a sieve out of the air holes, and gurgling really bad! All I can figure is maybe it don’t like all that vibration ? Tossed it in a ziploc bag and grabbed the KT sub tank mini which seems to love the truck rides. Gonna perform a biopsy on the KF in a few, and see if I can figure out what the problem is.
I think Legs has mentioned his KF's leaking when they went over the mountains. Not sure what he did about it.

Yep - a commercial batt dispenser for vaping sized batts would sell I'm sure. I've got one on my to-do list .... but it's way-way down the list. For know I've just 'customized' a shallow cardboard box w/ dividers for the different sized batts.
Thanks for the idea. I have just the box in mind.

Elevation has a definate impact on the Davides. Don't use Kayfuns so can't speak to that. You have to disassemble the tank to adjust the wicking though don't you? That would fix the pressure problem in the tank.
No can do unless the tank is empty. I've never had to adjust my wicking.

I'd guess altitude change. If so, just devise a way to plant them upside down when not in use. I padded out a weighted base cig ashtray and it works fine for my tube mods. Or one box :)

to build a little battery charger for the road, any thoughts, or prayers ?

Many of the Xstar line come with plug and cable for 12VDC. Don't re-invent the wheel (unless you can make a better wheel!).

How is the kayfun modified? Just curious if it would be something I could do, I'm pretty handy. ;)
From the PlasmAir website:

  • 2 additional air pathways @ base intake for total of 5mm (twice our custom milled PlasmAirFlow centerpost opening) to promote venturi effect.
  • Upper deck liquid channels widened and deepened.
  • Lower deck channels mirror upper width, but minimal depth work as to reduce likelihood of leaking at tank threads due to breaking thread seal.
Upgraded components:

  • Custom Milled, Shaved & Sculpted PlasmAirFlow centerpost for true 2.5mm airflow.
  • Custom Fabricated PEEK insulator set: deck and 510.
I dunno 'zactly what they did. All I know is I like it! :)

Given I smoked stinkies for lo those many years, I suppose that 15 months to find my perfect vape is pretty good!

Dang it! I saw the Dr. Seuss video a few pages back and then floated around YouTube. I hate getting distracted...Oh, The Places You'll Go!

And the people you'll see :). How can anyone not love Dr Seuss?!

I would just get a charger that runs off of 12 volts. I would not want to haul a homebrew charger around in a truck with me. Mine just stayed on my workbench as I did not put it in a case or anything.

Maybe this one but I am not sure if it comes with the 12V cord or not?
https://www.imrbatteries.com/nitecore-i2-intellicharger-2014/
I don't think it does come with the cord and did not see one on their site. However they have a couple more on there that come with a cig lighter plug.
The one you linked to is not a good choice for you to use.
Thanks Robert, that looks like it would do the trick!

Did you have any elevation gain/loss while driving? Changes in air pressure can make a tank leak like that. Happens all the time to me when we go to the next largest town to shop. 1,5000' elevation difference each way. If that is the case, there are ways to minimize it.
No it was just flat land, I had about 20 miles to go, before the hills. Vibration in a truck does weird things though. I was keeping paper clips in the ash tray of a truck a few years back, when I needed a paperclip I noticed some of them were almost worn in half in places.

My kayfuns also randomly leak like that in the vehicle, I first thought it was altitude of going up and down the mountain roads but that isn't true since I can drive mountain passes without it leaking. My best guess to the leaking is the vibration of the vehicle or a good solid bump dislodges the wicking and covers the juice channel causing the leak. I come home, readjust the wicking and its good to go again.
I ran a screw driver under the wick ends and solved the problem. I think the wick ends were packed into the juice channels. My Kanger STM has them juice holes in the barrel that must hold the wick in place, havent had any trouble with that one. Not a big deal, Im only out one night at a time, just have to make the most of my quality time with the KF when Im home. ;)

Im wanting to make a bulk buy (1 liter) on nicotine, pg, and vg. ecigg express looks pretty good as far as price on 100mg nicotine, but pg, and vg must have went up over the last few years.
I think the last time I bought a gallon of vg it was like 12.00?
Anyone heard of any big sales going on? :)

Are you near a Tractor Supply? They have gallons of PG and VG. One is about $25, the other about $35 (can't remember which is which).

Otherwise Essential Depot is one of the better places to get it online (about the same price, plus free shipping if you're not in a hurry).

42.00 for a liter of 100mg/ml is really good, I'd jump on it!

Essential depot: $43.62 for a gallon of each shipped if you want a gallon of each. http://www.essentialdepot.com/product/GLYERIN-1-PLUS-PROPYLENE-1.html

I've never tried the ecigexpess nic but that is a very good price. I've read that some say it has a lemony flavor, but I"m sure if it did to everyone, there would be a lot of word out on that. They do have 30% off sales on nic ever so often, but dunno if one is coming up or not and you may not want to wait on it. If you get it, let me know what you think of it please.

Geez, thats actually cheaper than me driving down the road and getting it at our local TSC!
We still have half of a 250ml bottle of 100mg that I purchased from ecigexpress. I used to order nic from Levi at xtreme vaping, and I would take a whiff of the bottle when I first opened it.
I noticed when I took a whiff of the ecigexpress bottle I got a slight burning in my nostrils, and figured maybe they are purging with CO2 these days?
Other than that, we have not noticed any off tastes, although my wife mainly vapes lemon meringue pie at this time, and my senses aren’t what they used to be, lol.

So bring it on I say! :w00t:
I just as well wait on the Nic and see if I can catch a sale at ecigexpress, but will definitely order up that PG and VG first thing in the morning. Thank you Debadoo!

Just bought a gallon of PG from Tractor Supply for $23. They don't carry the VG but I hear a lot of other stores are. The Essentials Depot deal is a winner. I got my VG through WL but only because I had a severe allergy problem with the previous common source. The gallon I got from from WL will make eight gallons of of juice.

There will be a ton of sales coming up between now and New Years. The current Halloween one is here, https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forums/ecf-suppliers-halloween-specials-2015.923/ , it's just getting underway.

Good luck!

Took me 3 years to be completely happy, and feel as though I needed to look no further.
I've been completely happy since the first moment of my vaping journey. Part of that happiness is looking further.

One is never too old to learn some new frass (in article)!
Frass happens.

That's one expensive diesel powered steeping device. Are steep hills responsible for steep prices? How steep must a grade be in order for joose to steep?

What? Your Tractor Supply doesn't carry VG? Mine does. Of course, you can get VG even in the grocery store.

But, the Essential Depot price is better anyway.

Thanks for the Halloween Sales link. Just what I need, temptation to spend more money!

@FlamingoTutu, thanks for posting the sales thread link. Dunno how I missed that sub forum, but I did! In my "Watched" list, now :)

Have any of y'all who DIY used Nude Nic? Thoughts? TIA!

Me too ... I'd be interested in opinions of it. I've heard is pretty good but low on TH.
