Any good movies on vaping?
I dunno but I had a vaping book pop up today on my Scifi Amazon book list.
Only odd one in the entire list...

I wrote about the movie The Insider on this forum. Al Pacino. I have the article in my vital writing collection -- and that article came out way before they made the movie. The movie The Insider is a true story about a scientist who takes a job working for R. J. Reynolds. Some may remember how the seven dwarves perjured themselves when they all testified that nicotine was not an addictive substance. ? I just watched it again on Youtube about a month or two ago -- and not the movie, but the perjury itself. I know the whole sordid story. These were wealthy, old dried up, crotchety, ugly looking tobacco robber barons.

The Scientist was stalked and threatened. He leaked the entire story to Mike Wallace. The scientist was just too conscionable and when he realized his job was to potentiate the effects of nicotine by using hundreds of chemicals to cross the blood/brain barrier (BBB) faster than seven seconds, he tried to refuse. When they forced him to add an analogue of coumadin to trick the BBB (which is very hard to fool) he tried to resign. They threatened to hurt his wife and children. That is a very old film, and an historical account of a very important moment in the tobacco industry.

Well 1 Celtic Knot patterned Provari 3 + one Kangar Subtank Mini + 4 batteries ordered. Now the big wait begins :)

Nice choice ... I really like my Celtic Knot P3. My other 2.5's are black and now show their age w/ mars and scratches in the finish. The first scratches 'hurt' but now that they look well used, they'ew like a comfortable pair of well worn shoes. I think the SS Celtic won't show it's age as much as time goes by.

I got a response to my email from Rep Rokita re HR2058. Reads like a scripted response.

Not quite the answer we all hope for but better than downright negative response.

Re: MAIL ON H.R.2058 FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015

November 2, 2015

Dear Mrs. C.....,

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 2058, the FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015. It is good to hear from you.

As you may know, Congress passed the Tobacco Control Act2009. For the first time, this law gave the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) broad authority to regulate tobaccothe United States. E-vapor products are not currently subject to the Tobacco Control Act and are largely unregulated.

The Tobacco Control Act requires premarket authorization for new tobacco products. Traditional tobacco products, such as cigarettes, are considered "new" if they were not being marketed as of February 15, 2007. The proposed FDA rule would apply this same timeline, known as the grandfather date, to any newly deemed product, including e-vapor products. However, because e-vapor products were not widely available before February 15, 2007, this proposed rule would present a significant hurdle for e-vapor products.

On April 25, 2014, the FDA published a proposed rule that would subject cigars, e-vapor products, and other tobacco products to the Tobacco Control Act. If enacted, this rule would require ingredient listing and health warnings for these newly deemed products. Additionally, this rule would prohibit the sale of these products to minors, prohibit vending machine salesfacilities that allow minors to enter, and prohibit the use of modified risk descriptors such as "light", "low", and "mild" for these products.

As you may know, H.R. 2058 was introduced by Representative Tom Cole of Oklahoma on April 28, 2015, and was referred to the House Energy & Commerce Committee. This legislation would change the date for deemed tobacco products from February 15, 2007, to twenty-one months after the enactment of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. While I have not reached a final decision on this legislation, please be assured that I will keep your views in mind.

Again, thank you for contacting me and please staytouch as I continue fighting for all people so they can build better lives for themselves and their families.

Sincerely,

Todd Rokita Member of Congress

I thought the ones we needed were the OOS ones. Possibly, but if so he's keeping it a secret. :) He mentioned an extra tank, not sure if delrin or boro, and a bridge. So not sure if my goody package will include batts or not. Particularly since he had two BB's up for prizes this go round.

For those wondering, we had another battle pillarz game on the billet box thread, and I won!! This time two of us won a BB. I had to pass up the purple one, that was hard, because I was mesmerized by the holographic etched copper doors, so I chose a very interesting brown one to put that door on

Jup, that was pretty bad in that letter.

How do you multi quote posts. Driving me crazy..
click on the + quote bottom right of a post, I think it says add to multiquotes, so click that. When you finish adding the various ones......at the bottom left, there will be a button that shows up that says insert quotes. Do that, you can review them, take some out or move the location of them by dragging, then click ok or whatever it says, and they'll all pop into the reply box. Just make sure your comments are after the [ / quote ..] thingy

My P2 is the same silver satin finish as the Celtic. It has 1 tiny ding even after all this time and that was my fault. I had it fall out of my purse in the driveway and it hit the concrete. Under more normal use I doubt you will see much wear and tear on it at all. :)

I'll post the link when my husband gets home and can help me. He is at the library. We go to the library every day, often more than once. It's FREE!!! :) If you really want to see it before he comes home (with about a hundred books) I simply went to Youtube and entered *The seven dwarves tobacco perjury*. Oh, yeah, Russell Crowe played the scientist and Al Pacino played Mike Wallace. The article is so much better than the movie. But, we have become our own entertainment in this country. At least it helped get the truth out of those liars. I just verified the search on Youtube, and it came through in flying colors!!! Shocking perjury!!! It really is a must-see!!!

Please do not purchase this item! I did several years ago and it sux... no, actually it's a POS.

As for soldering guidelines, here is my ECF CONTRIBUTION. TBH, it was the toughest course I took and taught in my USAF career; 13 years of which was as an electronics warfare/countermeasures instructor.

As I stated in dat post, if anyone has questions, suggestions or corrections, please LMK!
so did I. It looks really nice in it's box. on a shelf. covered in dust.
If I want a quick solder, I use my butane one. if not, I have one that looks like a gun that I use.

thanks! found it great with this search parameter!
I'm so glad! It's alarming to say the least. I had actually forgotten that it was Brown and Williamson and the scientist who resigned and whose life was left in ruins was Jeffrey Wigand. The Cig company went as far as tapping his phone. His entire family went into hiding after serious threats were made against their lives. It's so terrifying that we have such lowly primates in such powerful positions. I just can't accept that they are people -- that they are human. I did not evolve from that particular branch!!! It took us 13.8 billion years to arrive here, and they are still in the mud and slime! I just do NOT understand!

They want to stop us at any cost! These are prominent families who make a show of going to church on Sundays!

Awesome, I love the Celtic knot. Next on the list. Be a decade before I can get it. :(

I made the mistake of bringing up those “seven dwarves” on ECF once and got quite the education. It seems those creeps were correct, though what they were saying was meant to deceive. I consider what they said a (huge) notch above lying. Hope there is special place in hell...

Nicotine is most likely not addictive to a never smoker. If someone who never smoked started vaping using nicotine, they likely would never get addicted to it. It’s the toxic soup that BT has concocted in their cigarettes, I assume combined with the nicotine, someone correct me if I’m wrong, is what makes it so addictive. Anyway, check out the links in this thread, posts 1, 11 and 13. Great Article on the Possible Health Benefits of Nicotine

I think you can't go wrong with a ProVape product; they are extremely well made and, IMO, very reliable. Not to mention, pretty! :). ProVape's website has a specials page and has a great sale on the 2.5's ... Though I'm not at all optimistic on deeming regs being reworked (despite our very best efforts), I am hopeful that the effective date will be brought forward. If that happens, the ProVape products will be grandfathered in.

@Myrany, my Celtic Knot is a year old and gets dumped in a purse, stuck in the car cup holder, dropped on the floor, and, well, you get the picture. The satin finish holds up, beautifully. She still looks great!

Forgot to quote, but I think the jury is out on the addictive quality of nic. Like many other chemicals, it seems to vary depending on the user's physiology and the level/duration of exposure. I know this is not a popular opinion...:(. Please, don't shoot!
