When I mentioned Pluid and Crab juice I did not mean to imply that I have tried either. but watching old reviews is very entertaining!

Oh I realized that but anything I can zing Iffy with is a wonderful gift. Thank you. :)

IIR, the number of times according to Legs' own count was either 247 or 347. But, that was with toppers other than the Kanger. Once he built with nickel on the Kanger, he was able to do it successfully and consistently.

I thought it was higher but was trying to be polite. Didn't remember it was the Kanger that did the trick.

Well I know it is available, not sure if they charge for it or not. They shouldn't but it has to be sent in to them. I don't subohm so I wasn't worried but I know all the P3's after 5-15 have that capability. So they should do it. Oh I see it was posted figured they would do it for free. I could send it in for that too. Only takes a week from the time I send something to them and its back in my hands. In fact I could send it in and have it sent to you I have a friend there. I don't know if you have to be the original owner or not.
I had but after I got the SX it's just about all I use.

You have no idea how tempted I am. Wouldn't need sub ohm but I do need surgery on my leg again and am saving for that. I really appreciat the offer though. If anybody else is tempted, I don't have dibs on it. Yet.

Here ya go. :thumb:

Thank you! The one I saw was a passing comment. That one's far better.

Legs, all those fixes sound like a good deal. You should get it updated, possibly worth a bit more then, before you sell it.

32 gauge Kanthol. 3mm silica, or 3 1mm at 4 wraps = 1.7, or 2mm @ 4 wraps = 1.5 Ω.
I hate threading a coil after wrapping... With the silica on the Kayfun, 1.5 Ω is my sweet spot. But after so many hours fiddling with it last night, my mind fogged and I wrapped it for a kanger.
I have 2 spools of the 32 gauge, so don't want to spend more money on lower gauge.

I tend to wind my KFs at 2mm ID, and rayon is really easy to taper out and thread. Silica, not so much.

Maybe twist up some of your 32? That would come in about the same as 28/29, so you could get a few more turns, and greater surface area?

Yep I will talk to my friend tomorrow and see where I have to mail it to. Probably just the regular address but $5 to mail it and they send it back Priority with signature required which can sometimes be a hassle. But they don't charge so can't complain too much.

You know I have thought about using nickel on it but you have to change things and it tastes so good with Kanthal I really can't imagine it tasting any better. Once you get the wicking method down it is fantastic. I have never had any problems with it which almost makes it worth the price for the real thing.

I rebuilt and it's 1.3... So a bit lower than I like. I think I am cutting my wicks too short though... Not getting enough juice to the coil.

EDIT: stuffed just the tiniest bit of cotton in the bottom, not touching the coil... Just to bridge any imagined gap.
Seems to be wicking ok now... Just have to remember for my next build to cut my silica a bit longer.

I know about the signature hassle. Sometimes it can be over a week before we can got to the PO when they are actually open. Just think you can find a buyer faster and/or sell it for a bit more if it's updated. The post mike put up, when you follow the link back to the original post, says they are also fixing a few bugs. Aw c'mon, I haven't called the dogcatcher and I did get him vaccinated.

dang sweetie.....if you said, I forgot what you had done before.

I don’t think you were posting on this porch at the time. My calf had been cramping badly. Was sent back to the vascular doctor, tests, etc. Was told I had a blockage in the artery. Was also told that it was because I used to smoke, which is why I’m telling this again.

I’d severely injured that knee when I was around 14 and it had hurt every single day since then. They did major surgery on it several years later and were very successful in making it worse. Had the surgery for blockage and woke up in the middle of it from pain in my knee. When I woke up again, the pain in my knee was gone for the first time in over 40 years.

On the follow-up visit, I saw the images from the surgery. Artery is nice and clear down to the point of impact on my knee, then two large veins had grown around the blockage to get blood to my lower leg. I knew then I’d be having the surgery again, probably to place a stent, but hoping it wouldn’t be this soon. My point is, don’t believe a doctor when their best excuse is to blame something completely on smoking.

Shortly thereafter, I posted to the group that I’d taken my husband for a spin and he couldn't keep up anymore. There has to be a payoff for a long post like this. Pics or it didn’t happen, right?

Can't sleep. :(

Anyone have an idea on the best way to glue/secure a hybrid drip tip back together? SS base with a plastic tip. It's a very inexpensive drip tip but I have a number of them and if they all come unglued, hey, price reduction per tip.

I toss him a tofu lobster tail every now and then. He thinks they're the real deal so please don't spoil that for him.

I've had very good luck with super glue. Once it's dried there is no problem with inhaling off-gasses.

Or a little dab of Gorilla Epoxy - after it cures 24hrs it's food safe.

Seems to be wicking ok now... Just have to remember for my next build to cut my silica a bit longer.

I use the "bunny ears" method to lop my wicks to length, with rayon, but silica should be similar. After coiling and wicking, put the cylindrical part of the vapor chamber on, pulling the excess length up and out. Cut about 1/4 inch above, gently push down beside the block with a toothpick or whatever. Pre-moisten, and finish up.

Can't sleep. :(

Dang, late again! I'll add my vote to any cyanoacrylate type glue, since you're not going to be in contact with it in any way - it's between the two pieces of your hybrid, not on the inside or outside. Maybe clean both parts well in rubbing alcohol first, to make sure all traces of juice are gone, as that may interfere with a good glue job.

and I just realized you recently passed the 1 year mark of no smoking!!! Wahoooooooo!!!! sure hope ya join us on the back porch too and in the hangout!

Is nickel something that is used for other things and will always be available?? If not, ya might wanna hang on to it, just in case you need to go back to kanthal at some point.
Ok, nevermind, have now been told in the hangout that the sx mini will also use kanthal just fine. I thought it only used nickel wire.

You keep saying this....... but how is .065 not sub ohming? Is it because somehow nickel is different??
It is sort of but nickel has such a low resistance to build a 1 ohm coil your coil would be a foot long. I just looked it up to build a nickel coil with 26awg 2.5mm it would be 128 wraps.

Well I just found out I didn't waste my money on 26awg NI200 I get a good vape with it at 15J 330degrees more to my liking. Still like the 28 better though.
Good morning legs. I admire your adventurous spirit. You have to test all the new stuff and keep us informed. Got my iPad set up for the hang out by getting the free app. Not happy with the facial close up, my double chins, and skin flaws. Shows to many of my imperfections. Argh! But it works. Only problem is I have to hold it down with one hand, else it films the ceiling.

Hi all. Lots of folk I don't know on here today. Nice to "meet" y'all! I'm going to be on the lanai playing with my iPad trying to see if I can get Google Hang Outs on there.
I am one of the quiet ones that sits over on the back corner of the porch and learns by listening :D I have been here throughout all of the renovations and am loving the new decor. Welcome to the porches.

Nice to meet you Mattiem. This ALL new to me. Haven't quite figured out what ration of pg/vg I want to vape. 50/50/ seemed to heavy on my lungs and 100% pg sputtered and spit and seemed to harsh. I got the hubby to do some calculations for me last night, so I'm trying 70/30 and 60/40 to see what I'm most comfortable with :) I'm a kid in the candy store with all the flavors, but whadda know...peach is my favorite, so far.
