Thanks for not forgetting me
I've been dropping in off and on, but not participating much.
Hubby has had heart problems for the last couple of months, and it has meant 3 different trips to surgery.
The hospital is over 150 miles away, so it means I have to stay in town each trip.
Thankfully, I think they finally got him fixed up as good as new.
He beat cancer (10 years ago), and now heart problems ... I keep asking him what he's going to try next
Just know I'm trying to keep up with ya all, and still hanging around.

Hi Slots - sorry to hear about your husband, but glad to hear it seems under control now. Best wishes to you both.

Great to hear things are looking up Slots. Hope you can stop by more, but most important to take care of yourself and family.

With titanium, yes, I'm using it in TC mode. I have made no attempt to use Kanthal in TC mode. I suspect that the titanium coils work great until they get gunked up, and they seem to get gunked up more quickly than Kanthal. I tried switching the titanium coil to power mode after the draw started getting thin, but even at 13 watts it was tasting burnt. Upon observation it appeared to me that the (originally) spaced titanium coil had closed up to the point that it was now a contact coil, and it had become gunky-looking. With Kanthal, I use contact coils and they're working well.
What was the temp you were using?

I just built a 0.9 ohm coil with 27 gauge Kanthal an hour or so ago, 2.5 mm inside diameter, 4.5 wraps, contact coil, and it's working fantabulously at 12.0 watts.

Life is good with a good vape. :) And it doesn't have to be all technical.

Anyone with a lot of RBAs (ahem, Mike) care to show how they keep them organized?

Right now, I'm trying to get some more flat surfaces into my room (shelves?) so that I can see what I have and get it organized. I do have my own room now. I just need the surfaces to work with now.

For example, my Lancia rda. I found the base with a bunch of stuff I had set aside to dry after cleaning. Then there's the box with the majority of the Lancia parts. But, where is the top cap and spare glass sleeve? Where could I possible have put it? I probably just dropped it in with some miscellaneous stuff when I couldn't find the rest of it or when I was in a hurry to get it out of the kids' reach. Who knows?

I need to get my stuff out in the open, match everything back up, and figure out how to KEEP it organized!

Help! I'm drowning!

The best place to learn more about Ti wire is on the thead titanium wire vaping and safety. As far as resistance my coils run between .26 and .28. I use 5 wraps spaced 3mm and 26awg or .4mm. Some of the wire is an actual 26awg which is .405mm. Most of the stuff from UK and China are close but like the Crazy Wire is a little thinner causing the higher resistance. On that thread read the posts by The Bloke. He has some high class testing equipment and puts a ton of info on the different wire. I have found for me the 26awg works very well. All the wires are shiny except Unkamen which has an acid wash causing etching. You need to use an alcohol wipe with all of them because they all seem to have a little graphite one them. I have been using Crazy Wire from Vape Mesh but I also had some Unkamen which I am trying now and I really like it. It uses about twice the amount of juice but it really has a clean heavy vape to it. I haven't tried cleaning it yet so I don't know how it will compare to the Shiny Crazy Wire. Those are the only 2 that I have use. Like I say you go back throught the posts by The Bloke and he has a lot of info. People build coils from where I am at to .5ohms and some use dual coils getting the resistance a lot lower then what I use so you have a large area as far as resistance. Also they are all springy and stiff. You can hand wrap but doing it with a coiler gets you a tighter coil and then just stretch it to get your spacing. I really like the stuff better then nickel. Great vape and lasts me about 3 weeks then I can rewick it and clean the coil under hot water with a small brush and go another 3 weeks then I recoil.

Thanks Legs,
So I gather the sx mini if thats the one your using is ok with temp at 0.28Ω. I was looking at resistance of 0.1 or lower.

Not mike and don't have LOTS of RBA's but have a few.......Scott and I both have this box, and I absolutely love it!! He likes his too.
Toolbox Organizer with 4 Drawers
he got his on amazon and it has nicer colors than mine. The drawers are somewhat customizable. You can't change the depth of each section, but you can change the width.

I have two of the same boxes that I have my flavors stored in for DIY juices. I have extra syringes stored in the top portion.

That's one thing I love about vaping, it can be as (relatively) easy or as challenging as one wishes. You can decide what you want out of it, not a drug company or big tobacco. We are in control of this, not them. And we are all healthier for it.

This may be of no help, I just saw it in the past day or two.

$6.43 Aluminum Alloy Stand for 510 Thread Atomizers (7 Pieces) 7-pack - ships one of each color at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

There are singles available down on the lower right. Listed as not shipping for 7 day (aka, whenever). What appeals to me it that they screw in and hopefully eliminate the leaking problem I had with the simple aluminum stand, probable due to temp variations in the house. No idea how good the threading is. If they're bad, into the recycling bin. Right now anything that has anything in it other than ADV just rolls around on its side on my desk.

When it was producing a good vape I was using 280 to 330 degrees F. As the vape started to get thin, I bumped it up as high as 400 but without good results. Of course, the actual temperature of the coil was probably quite a bit higher since I was using a titanium coil in Nickel temperature mode.

Here's what I think was happening: as the coil got gunked up, that would cause the set temperature to be reached quicker, so it was not producing as much vapor, and the vapor that it did produce had a burnt flavor due to the gunk.

It sounds like, as with any coil, once it got gunked the fresh juice couldn't actually reach the coil to vaporize. Therefore no vapor. Or fresh juice only reaches the gunk, not the coil, so it.s vaporizing a little, but doing it in contact with hot gunk, so just thin, yukky vapor. And the only thing to reach the coil was the gunk build up, which just sits there & reheats over & over so there's the burned taste. Clean coil, clean wick, clean vapor. Rules to vape by! No matter what your coil is made of. Like. Cooking fresh food in a dirty pot with old, burned food left in it. The new food will absorb that flavor & just ad another layer.

Make sure you don't cover the area that the juice comes up in when you squonk. Juice should make it all the way to the deck & then to the wick. If the cotton is too close to that spot you can't get enough juice to the wick because it's blocked. Don't squonk into the wick. Squonk onto the deck, then it soaks into the wick.

Yep just fine but with Ti you have to use a temp that is at least 100F for me about 120F less then you would run nickel. If you have done the update it eventually ends up working best at about 100F above what you would use for nickel in the Ti mode. But no problem with the higher resistance of Ti in nickel mode just have to make the adjustment for the temp because of the different way Ti works with heat. Like I said with a coil at .26 which is what Unkamen comes in at or .28 which is what Crazy Wire comes in at with the same coil I use 260-265F with Unk and 270F with CW. And yes that is what I use SXM the DNA's work too but I think the temp setting is a little diff. You'd have to read up on that since I don't own any I don't know but I have read something about it along the way. I actually built an 8wrap 3mm contact coil with 26awg Ti and it came in at .43ohms. I didn' care for it but I did notice in Ti mode it worked closer to the normal temp of 420F.

I agree and using Ti is really not all that technical. Once you find what you like, for me it is 5 wraps spaced at 3mm 26awg always comes out at .26 Unk and .28 CW I just set it at 265 13J and forget it. Stays right there till the coil starts getting gunked and rewick and wash it in the sink with a toothbrush under the tap using hot water. It's really simple once you get it down. Just as simple as Kanthal just tastes better.

The longevity on the Ti coils I gave you varies. What I gave you was the least I get. I have 6 STM's with Ti. My very favorite flavor I use twice as much as the others but like the one I have pineapple in which I use when I get vapers tongue I have had the same coil in for 6 weeks and working great.

I will say too that the Unkamen I had sitting here for 5 weeks before I tried it. It is not annealed to my knowledge and it has a rough finish. It is easier to use with a coiler I use a coilmaster then I stretch it just enough so the coils are not touching and when I place it make sure the tails are not touching the next coil. I give them all a little wipe with alcohol before I wrap cause they all seem to have a little graphite on them, then I pulse it a couple times at 250F 12J and a little wisp of smoke comes off then I wick it tighter then with nickel since it is much stiffer and will not deform the coil. You don't want to dry heat it till it glows Ti will do bad things then. Just enough to get the last of the oils off. Low temp and power. But I really like the Unk so far for you US buyers. I've noticed I run it at a little lower temp like 255-260F tastes great to me there.
