You are right...too thick on the cotton and it's a problem. Get it right (just like you said) it's hard to find anything better (IMHO). :toast:
Here is the thing with cotton it expands HUGELY when wet. SO you have to make sure it is not tight packed in the coils. I kinda
hold each end and tug it back and forth in the coil it should move easily.
too much in the coil chokes off the juice flow badly and can long run lead to a rather nasty fried cotton taste :)

And on another note, I'm having an interesting debate on FB that shows the typical man on the street reaction to vaping these days.
I think I'm doing ok and not loosing my temper yet. I'm just wondering when the veiled insults will come out, when this guy is confronted with logic.

Eric G The rules for smoking cigarettes should apply to smoking e-cigarettes.

Ken A The rules for smoking cigarettes are there to protect your health. Not your expectations. Drinking water looks just like drinking vodka... Should water be sold only to adults?

Eric G poor comparison. I'm saying that if you can't smoke in the work place why would it be any different. O own a store. I don't allow smoking in my store. By law you can't here so if you want to smoke an e-cigarette you have to go outside.

Ken A You don't smoke an e cigarette. There is no smoke, or harmful amount of chemicals in the vapor. E liquid is not a tobacco product and only has the same relationship to tobacco as potatoes do. Nicotine has been proven to be non carcinogenic, and have most of the same benefits of caffeine. It aids in focus, cognition and mental alertness. What you allow in your store is your business and right. It should not be legislated though. It should be the province of the business owner and/or manager.

At home I chain-vape at the computer

The last 3 days I have been "chain-vaping at the computer" too (trying to finish a "project").

I have 4 iTaste v3's lying to my left with different toppers (Aspire BDC, Kanger T3S, iClear 30S and a cartotank). I tend to (without really looking at it) grab one...take a few hits...put it down...etc.

Interesting (to me, anyway) observation...whenever I get a hit that attracts my attention ("WOW...what a GREAT hit!!!") and take the time to actually look at the topper...it's invariably the cartotank (from IBTANKED).

Go figure...

(I doubt it's the particular juice...my taste buds [after only 6 months of vaping] are still pretty insensitive secondary to my previous 51 years of analogs.)

It is here. Now to figure the darned thing out. 3.2 V, resistance 2.6, on a iClear 30.
I'm getting there. I need to cover it with the green peacock feathers duck tape, it feels too slippery.

I think some of my friends were thinking it looked a bit phallic, the duck tape should neutralize that. Not that romance never touches my life, LOL.

Resistance 2.8, 4.0 v on a CE5

I've been lurking around this thread and finally decided to join in. I'm 62and had been smoking for over 40 years. I had quit trying to quit. Then I ended up disabled and pretty much stuck in the recliner all day. I'd been down to about a pack a day from two or more when I was younger, but it turned out that a lot of that reduction was from not being able to smoke at work. Next thing I know I'm over a pack and a half and heading back toward two. And since we're now both home all day it's starting to really bother my husband.

So I knew all of the quitting methods that hadn't worked, and I started checking around the web and next thing I knew I'd found this place. Got some great advice on a starting set-up that I could deal with physically and afford to buy. And here I am.

Anyhow, the whole point of the long introduction was to say that yep, I vape constantly. Way more than I smoked. But that's fine by me. I am saving some money (mostly because I can't afford all of the pretty toys I'd like to get) and my husband is happier. I have to admit that I still want to smoke, but since I don't get out and about much it's easier to order more vapemail than it is to go to town for cigarettes.

First off, so glad ya dropped in on a grand gathering rockin' on da porch! I'm sure you'll get all da support and knowledge here to get ya over da 'hump'.

It would help us assist if ya told us what equipment/joose you're vaping and smokin' history. We (our 'family' here) pretty much cover da spectrum of ol' habits and life extending vapin' experiences.

Please hang around a bit!

Thanks for the welcomes. Yeah, rural North Dakota in the winter is also not conducive to smoking outside, either. Now if we could talk our mail carrier into actually bringing packages to the house instead of making a game of seeing how tightly he can cram things into the box, life would be wonderful. (In another thread people were complaining about a supplier switching to FedEx, and I was all ready to switch to them just for that, but it turned out to be FedEx smartpost which just drops it off for the post office for the last leg-but I digress (frequently).)

Anyhow, as I said above I smoked for over 40 years, mostly about 2pad. Menthol, usually Salems, and had, after multiple quits, ended up at about a pack a day. Once I ended up stuck at home I was heading back up towards two pad.

When I found this place I asked for advice on what would work with bad hands. I also knew that I didn't want it to look or feel like cigarettes. So I ended up with an itaste vv and a unitank. I cracked the unitank by accidentally filling it with hot cinnamon juice. (Yes, I did know better, and also had a protank that I was supposed to put the cinnamon in.)

So at this point I have two itaste vvs, and an assortment of toppers, mostly bottom coil cleromizers since that's what I like best. With my hand problems I'm not going to be rebuilding coils or getting into diy juice. Since I chain vape and run the batteries down, I'm considering getting a third itaste vv or an MVP since with the vvs, phone, and my tablet I end up with charger cable spaghetti when I use the pass-through. I'm still waffling about which to get, though.

I'm still looking for Mr Goodjuice, though I've got a menthol tobacco flavor and an Earl Grey Tea that I like. I don't like sweet flavors. I've been trying some fruit flavors, but most of those seem awfully sweet to me. Just got some to try from Ahlussions(sp) but everyone says that they should steep, so I don't know yet if I'll like them. Juice is also complicated by the fact that I can't open childproof bottles, which rules out quite a few suppliers.

Don't mean to write a book, but you did ask.

Good catch there 0mg. I also live in a little wide spot in the road called Hatton. :D

Welcome amoret. It's always a pleasure to welcome new older folks to our home away from home. Sounds like you are doing really well on your vaping journey. I am still enjoying egos and spinners topped with eVod clearomizers even after over 2 years of being smoke free.
