oh that's kewl Mul!!! Mike, I saw that thread a couple days ago, and have been looking for plastic battery cases. I know I'd seen em online, but calling WM, they just thought I was stupid....didn't even know what an 18650 batt was....The guy at the battery store knew what they were and carried em.....even knew what vaping was..... called his vendors and called me back and none of them even carry the plastic cases. So.....now I've been trying to think where the heck it was I saw them online!! So thanks!!!

There are several suppliers that sell them.

Congrats, Tiny. I had given up hope of ever quitting cigs. It's like a miracle. Good for you!!

I was the same...never thought that I would quit!!

Congrats to you to Lilac!!!

I was in the same boat, I had failed so many times trying to quit with every gimmick that came along I had given up even trying to quit anymore. I started vaping hoping that it would just help me cut back on smoking some, never even thought about quitting. I didn't even finish the pack I had open once I started vaping. You're right, it is a miracle.

Oh - Genisis atty. I've got 2 and waiting on 2 more from a co-op.(all designed and machined here in the USofA by the co-op). If I wasn't in for a couple from this co-op, I'd be looking at these from Chopper. This is his 3rd design and calls it the Atom Bomb. He started making them a a few month's ago and is doing well. I read a lot of good reviews of them in his thread and he appears to give really good support too. The price is reasonable for a non-Chinese knock-off compared to the big bucks a lot of the Gensisis atty's like ~Zens, DID, etc.

If'n you want to start off on the low end, check out the Version 2 Smoketech Vivi rebuildables. They're designed a bit different and the end-caps screw off.

Thanks for the info Mike, I hadn't seen the Atom Bomb before, it looks interesting. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews about the Smoktech rebuildable when it first came out, I assume version 2 is a better device. The Zen and DID looked nice but that's awfully expensive to start with, if I find I can't wind a decent coil that's a ton of money down the drain.

Thanks for posting your work on the Vivi Nova, you gave a lot of good tips that could be applied to other devices. You're posts are always informative.

I'm 58yo and had smoked for over 40 years.... I thoroughly enjoyed smoking and only started vaping to try and reduce the amount of cigarettes I was going through. The cost of cigarettes and associated medical repercussions were my motivation, so I thought that if I could just replace a few analogs a day with vaping, I may save a few $$$ and breathe a bit easier.

Well it hasn't actually worked out as planned coz after a few days of vaping the anaolgs started tasting awful, and after a week, I just couldn't stand the taste of them!

It's now 32 days since I had a 'nic-stick' and I can't see myself ever wanting tobacco again. The odd thing is, I honestly didn't intend to give up smoking, I just stopped wanting to.... I'm happily puffing away on my Ego-FP as I write this.... I don't smell like an ashtray, I can breathe easily, taste my food again, and am saving around $12 to $15 a day... win, win, win :) . I'm laughing all the way to the bank instead of coughing all the way to the doctor.

My advice to the uninitiated would be, don't start vaping specifically to give up smoking, but to simply reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke; that way there won't be the stress associated with " I have to give up". After a while, you will probably find you prefer vaping and the ciggys will just fade out of your life... if not, then at least your use of them will be reduced, and that's gotta be a plus.
