I have caught myself trying to light my PV. Problem solved, I quit carrying a lighter.
On another subject I will be up the creek if my equipment fails, I can no longer stand the smell of analogs, at this time I cannot go back to them. I had a worse reaction to someone using a small cigar the other day, I almost lost my lunch.

That's a good thing. Well, not the part about the cigar
Backups, backups backups and then a backup to those;)

So, what did you start with? Just curious

I actually started with what is called a NicStick. $30.00 for a 180mah battery,an atomizer, 3 cartridges and a usb charger. Picked it up at out local Smoke Store. Was way over priced for what you get but it did let me know that vaping was doable. Then went to the Nebula Apex from VaporNine. A better kit that came with 2 180mah batteries, 5 cartomizers and a wall charger. Upgraded my batteries to their 280mah batteries and actually still use them part of the time.

Since my husband is very handy he got the parts and built each of us a box mod and soon after also made each of us a tube mod. Both of them use 18650 3000mah batteries. Love the fact that even though I am a heavy vaporer the batteries last me at least 2 days.

I have just recently purchased my gogo tube mod. It too uses the 18650 3000mah batteries. I am really liking it.

I think I mentioned my averted meltdown last night. Today I was just no getting any taste from my few juices. I am a bit anxious that my quitting depends on my bats, attys, and juice. Cigs are easy...take one out and light it. Now, don't get me wrong...I'm not defending cigs at all. And I do enjoy the fiddling and hobby-type aspect of vaping. I just hope that as more people get into e-cigs, something easier...but of good quality...comes down the pike. I just don't trust the pass-throughs, yet. I see my regular payday ordering will have to include at least 1 battery so I can stockpile them...lol. (eGo 650 and 900)
Deb, congrats...hang in there...you're doing great!!

Lucky you. I'm a widow, but my DH couldn't put a nail in the wall without injuring himself. All the brains in the world, had a PHD, just not a lot of good old common horse sense  Actually, I think he just wasn't interested. All the tools in our household belonged to me:lol:

Deb!!!!!! What's going on?? You're just so upbeat from what I've seen in all of your posts. Here's a hug  I had a panic at the end of my first month as I miscalculated how much juice I would need to make it through until I had money for more. Got down to the last little bottle, started to panic and then of course that set me to vaping more  Boy! did I nurse that bottle! But I did make it.
Which phoenix did you get last night? I ordered the new top coil just to try, but they'll have to go some to be better than the bottom coil.
Where did you order the juice from? Hopefully, it gets there sooner than anticipated.
Don't know if you saw this on the other thread so I'll put the link here.
Vapin' Mailman Blues (Final) - YouTube

Thanks everyone for the welcomes and all. Yiddle, thanks for the hug and the giggle with the video! I'm doing a bit better now. Just a combo of exhaustion (I've slept 12 hours total over the last 4 days), having spent way more than I can afford to spend and not being able to get hardly any hit.......so that made for HUGEEEE withdrawal freak outs. I ordered juice from vapedudes cuz of the 40% off. They are only 3 hrs from me or less, but it won't ship til Monday, and although it should be here in 1 day, last time it took like 3 days. I got the bottom coil. I decided to try them based on Steel Jan's review, and she said something in there about the TC being just another top coil whatever and sounded like they weren't so good, but I know some folks love TC's. Plus I got BC's in the phoenix, because I got two stardusts also last night that I think are both TC's. That way I can try each and see what I think about them and which I prefer.

Well first welcome aboard the ecig train...

Sounds like the taste thing could be your taste buds adjusting - some experience disappearing taste buds others everything taste foul... You gotta find a taste bud kicker to re-engage it - for some it is a strong flavor vape (menthol, peppermint, brandy) - for others it is food (fruits, pies, chili)... And do not forget the plenty of water thing... It really helps with taste buds also - keeps them washed down... It takes time to get your taste buds back - I do not know what mine are supposed to be like so I am not sure I have them back or not (LOL)...

Again - welcome...

Thanks Semi. I appreciate y'all not kickin me out for my melt down. I really am usually a ton more upbeat. I had wondered about the taste bud thing, on the bad cartos, and that could be part of it. I'm using one now with 3 bits of juices that I stuck all in one bottle. lol 1 was pure vg, so I don't know if the extra vg is coating it to make it tolerable, I know it's reducing the hit, but didn't have enough 80-20 in the other two to last on their own. These started as 3 ml samples. I do drink a ton of water. I am an ice cruncher, so between the ice that I eat and the water that I drink, I go through about 2 gallons a day. I drink coffee when I get up, then only ice water after that. Been doing that for a long time. Hmmmm.....the one undiluted 3 ml that I have left is one I did not like. It was a mojito. I never could stand menthol cigs, and dummy me didn't think about the mint in the mojito tasting like a menthol. Ok......well I just tried it again, and while not my fav by any means, I can tolerate it this time. You just might be a genius!! And this just might help get me through. At least I can get more of a hit off this. So if I sort of alternate the two, I will get through this easier. Thanks so much for mentioning that!!! See..... maybe I just needed to melt down, so semi could give me that advice. lol on the not sure what the taste buds are supposed to be like. Smoking 35 yrs I'm sure I'm in the same boat. No idea what things are supposed to taste like.

Thanks Onna, you too! I can relate to a lot of what you said. There are just so many variables to this that it is frustrating when you're new.

Ok.....question. The kit I got was 2 kgo 1100 mah batts. One might be a riva, not sure, they were supposed to both be 5 click, but one came with 5, the other was a 3 click. No biggie cuz they're all clones from Ego from what I understand. Anyhow, I started out vaping what I think was a lot! Pretty much all day. I'd set it down but not for long at a time. Most people are saying that one kgo batt should last about a day. Mine are lasting at least 3 days, and then I just charge em cuz I figure they need it. If I am not getting a good hit and I change to freshly charged one, I don't get a better hit. Will the batts last longer if I don't charge as often, or should I still charge them every day whether they need it or not? Which is better for the batteries do you think?

Thanks wendal! Love your avatar! No one said this would be easy huh....but totally worth it. We're Texas Tough, but I just get a little nutso once in awhile. Usually in a good happy way, once in awhile, not so much, but I get over it quick. But very very glad I found this forum. Everyone here is amazing!

Thanks NGIB. I don't know my fragerstratter from my hooseywhatsits yet, but I assume my batts are those Li-ion ones. lol Thanks, that's good to know. I'll charge em more often. Should I go about 3 hrs? Last one I forgot about and left it on there about 8 hours. Gotta start setting a timer or something so I don't do that again, that's probably not good for it. Right now I've been using boge 510 LR cartos, not sure of the Ohms, but I know folks have said the LR will run them down quicker. Soon as my order comes in, I'll be trying these

GotVapes PHOENiX™ Bottom Coil XL 1.5ml Cartomizer 2.4-2.6ohms

GotVapes VISION eGo Stardust ™ 1.6ml TC Carto 2.1-2.4ohm PURPLE

Wow debadoo - you got nothing but big batts and more big batts. Definitely trying to make sure you never run out of power. Now as far as recharging.

The advice on the forum is it is better to top them off instead of letting them run down. Me I do both since I never remember which is which. One bit of advice to give though is not to be charging them while you sleep and do not leave them on a charger unattended. When they are finished take them off. It does not have to be immediately - like standing there for 3 hours watching them, but just do not forget them and then leave one in the charger... Another is - never vape from a battery fresh off of the charger. Let it sit a bit... You have enough batts so this definitely should not be a problem.

Lastly - you are vaping 100% VG? It wicks slower. Most vendors thin it a little in their mixes, but watch the wicking. It could also be a part of your taste problems... If you are getting dry hits or metal taste then it is a wicking problem... If that happens you either need to give more time between vapes, switch off, or thin the juice a little with distilled water (one or two drops) to get it to wick better...

Oh, and again lastly - Good Morning Everyone... The start of another great week (I hope)...

Ok, so bear in mind that I'm dealing with serious insomnia, so at this point, I'm not really responsible for much of anything I say or do.....but.......I first read this and thought it said.......big butts and more big butts! I thought......well, yeah, but technology is way too advanced if semi can see this!!! lol Did you mean cuz of them being 1100 mah? I have 2, so can use one if one is charging.

I didn't get 100 vg really. I was shooting for 70-30 pg/vg But I ordered a sample pack of (5) 3 ml bottles from bluemist. They only have 80/20 and all vg so I got 80/20 16 mg nic they sent me a sample of 8 mg nic all vg. So naturally this did nothing for me! So I had more of that left. Since I was running out of everything else, I decided to add what little was left of 2 of the 80/20's to the all vg. Flavors were complimentary. I thought maybe that way I could possibly get some throat hit out of the vg and be able to use it so I didn't run out. If I take a really really long draw of this, I can get a little bit of throat hit. But it has to be long enough that my cheeks turn inside out lol I will try adding a couple drops of distilled water to it see if that helps.

oh yeah, and the way I decided to tell which one was freshly charged other than the one I'm using has a carto on it......but I bought a cone, and don't really like the cone while I'm using it. So I don't use the cone, but when I take the new one off the charger, I put the cone on it. That way I know that one hasn't been used since it was charged.

No, technology is not that good (LOL)... Yes 1100mah is a big battery (batts for short)... I only use 650mah in my carry around PV (3 of them - one using, one charging and one spare) and a few 78mm Volts for going in the store with (great little backups) and I have one 18650 with a 2400mah battery for long hauls... I have thought about 900mah for my carry around PV, but I like the natural palm feel of the 650mah battery... I could never go to the 1100 or the 1300 size of batteries...

Welcome to the group Debadoo,

It's Ok to re-charge the batts before they are completely run down. You won't notice a difference in how long a batt lasts, by waiting 'till it needs charging compared to topping off the charge. My wife has been using a couple of her original eGo batts for 8 months now, even though it's said they last about 3 months. And they get charged fully and/or partially drained.

Two things harm a LiOn batt, running it too low and overcharging it. Your PV will detect when the battery is too low to use and flash/shut-off, so you should not need to be concerned about running it too low. Overcharging is to be avoided. Never leave a batt on the charger overnight or when you leave the house. It's not necessary to immediately remove a batt when the charge is complete, but it's best not to leave it on for an extended time. Most inexpensive chargers detect when the batt is fully charged and reduce the charge cycle to a 'trickle' charge, so in a sense they are still charging but at a tiny rate. That's why it should not be left on the charger for an extended time.

Hello Everyone. Gosh, reading all these stories of transition from cigs to vaping is pretty much the same as mine. I smoked two packs a day for 50 years (I'm 63). Started vaping last November and stopped smoking completely. Started with the stick "kits" and now use Ego-T battery with clearomizers and tanks. I want it as simple as possible.

Deb, just be careful what kind of juice you put in that purple one. I love the colors but won't try any until they come in with the new plastic that won't crack if you put the wrong juice in.
Sooooo glad to see that you're back to being yourself today. You just keep on keeping on and you'll be fine. I can totally relate to the insomnia thing. I rarely am able to sleep more than 3-4 hours before I wake up (it's a pain thing from having RA) . When I get 8 hrs. all togetherI'm thrilled. Course that may be be from 4am to noon

Welcome Gabhla - I cannot pronounce that - (I assume the h would be silent) you may have to help... LOL

Yep, Simple is the Best way to go... Sometimes it takes a bit to get that figured out, but once you get there it is great...
