Welcome gabhla and (darn, I forgot the other newbie's name...sigh)! This is a great group...very supportive!
Again, can't remember who, someone said they have a Gripper and they don't like the longer bats. I just got the 900mah eGo bats...I feel like I'm playing a piccolo (sp?)!!! I really prefer the 650's for their size. Gripper?? I like the look, but I really love my visions clearomizers....can I use them on the Gripper? Doesn't seem to be anything to screw them onto.
Day 5....still wading through...lol!

Hello Everyone. Gosh, reading all these stories of transition from cigs to vaping is pretty much the same as mine. I smoked two packs a day for 50 years (I'm 63). Started vaping last November and stopped smoking completely. Started with the stick "kits" and now use Ego-T battery with clearomizers and tanks. I want it as simple as possible.

Hello and welcome to the thread. Your story is almost identical to mine, including age. One difference is that I stopped smoking on 2-5-2011. Hang in there - you can do it. I hope that you enjoy this thread as much as I do.

Ohio,in the sticks!
The Genisis was a heavens gift for me. I was struggling with cartomizers and whatnot.
Now I just change the "wire" and the mesh every now and then. No more buying this and that what in my case is also important even though I would love to play with all the gadgets that are out there:)
Do you use stainless mesh? What size mesh, and how thick is your juice? Don't mean to sound like an interrogation LOL,:) but looking into these myself. Does it have a burn in time (metal mouth)?

Just my opinion but I think "the next new thingy" can be a bad side to the vaping experience. I've discovered that the Epower 14650 with Resurrector cartos does exactly what I need - does that make me a bad person? I think some folks go overboard with the technology and it scares many newcomers. You don't need an electrical engineering degree to have success vaping, you just need to know when you've happy. I've toyed a bit with VV and while it's "nifty", I'm very happy with what I use every day hardware wise.

I have to tip my hat to Sailorman on this site as he always dispenses simple and relevant info to the newbies and does not reply to every post with "get a Provari"...

No problem hi-hi Ask away. I am sure others might have a different setup.
I use ss mesh 325 (300) cut to 35x22 mm. I use 40/60 and 10/90 pg/vg mixes. Both work fine.
I make 4-5 wraps with the kanthal to get 2.4-3 ohm somewhere around that.
I have not had that metal taste. I think that also comes from not oxidizing right but not sure on that one.

I agree with that. I use simple 3.7 tube mod. I also use the kick on one but do not really need it.

What I like about Raidys new thing is that it could be very helpful for smokers to change.
They would not have to learn to vape like we did but could pull on the mod as on a cigaret. That would be a huge improvement I think. Who knows maybe it is not what it promises but I would be surprised if so.

I do not like it either when they recommmend something as advanced and $$ like a provari to someone who just starts.

I actually use my VTube with an atty to test juices - rarely use it as a real vaping device. I've been real happy with my Epower and my eGo clones since I discovered how well the Resurrector cartos work. I have some CE3s coming in today and it will be my first experience with anything like this. I really wanted to try the Phoenix XL from Gotvapes but they are always out of stock (and have "comments" quite often) then I read a post explaining what different names the stuff goes by and what's equivalent to what. It will be an interesting evening comparing the vaping experience between the CE3s and my trusty Resurrectors...

Good Morning to one and all!

MadVapes sells a long extension that gives you a 510 connection a few mm's above the top of the Gripper. I'm using tanks and dual coil mega cartomizers as well as the 49 mm mega cartos that make the Gripper a "stealth" machine. I have some Resurrectors on the way, too.

I didn't say I don't like the longer batteries....I said one was stuck on in my pocket and I'm scared of 'em. It got HOT :D

Currently, I am using atty's, cartos, and starting on clearo's. I've got two phoenix's and two clearo's similar to the stardust. I am leaning towards the stardust style due to the ease of use and functionality. I can just screw off the tip, add another ml of juice, screw back on the cap and continue vaping all in one stroke. That for me is about as easy as it gets. I like the vape with the bottom coil phoenix, but having to use a syringe to fill it up if I am out and about is not handy to me. I can fill up the stardust style clearo anywhere in a split moment so it is on the top of my list... (so far)...

Cartos would be my next favorite - just fill up several at night and swap them out during the day - visually and size wise they are better for public use. Ohhh decisions decisions. I am just still not totally comfortable with filler...

Edit: Almost Forgot - Good Morning Folks... Welcome to all the new comers - quite a few great stories...
