Doc told me that he will not do the surgery if I am smoking as nicotine inhibits a proper fusion.

A bud of mine had a shoulder replacement last year 'bout this time. We got him to 0 nic in ten days. Surgery and recovery was a breeze. He went to 9mg nic post surgery for a few months.

Alas, he is now smoking again...

This is a great thread and I thank you for getting this started. As a pack a day+ smoker for more than 40 years, I have struggled constantly with quitting and staying quit! I have tried the patches, gum, sheer will power and my son threatening to disown me and not allowing me to see my grandchildren...LOL!! Well, not really, but you get the jist of it. A little over a year ago, I injured myself at work and was diagnosed with 3 herniated discs in my back and 2 in my neck. I am now facing fusion surgery, which involves cutting me through the stomach and through the back to place metal rods in my spine. Doc told me that he will not do the surgery if I am smoking as nicotine inhibits a proper fusion. So, dumbie, why go through all this pain for naught? 44 days ago I came home through away my analogs and picked up my ecig. I have not had a cigarette since and am happily vaping away with minimal cravings a few times a day. I am currently vaping 8 mg nicotine and am on my way to weaning myself off the nicotine before I have surgery in another 3 months. Aside from having a successful fusion, I am also doing myself and my family a great service by hopefully avoiding a death sentence of lung cancer. You see, my Dad died of lung cancer 13 years ago...a horrible death, I might add...and still that was not enough to make me quit. I was nagged constantly about quitting smoking, but each of us has our own limit...that one thing in our life that says "this is it, it's time"...thank God my time came sooner than later. This little device has been my miracle worker and I will be forever grateful. Vape on!!

Hi Jak - sorry to hear about your need for surgery but glad you found this thread and that vaping will be future instead of smoking.

Welcome!

Janet H, I ordered 2 Spinners, 2 novas v2.5 and 2 nova minis.

No, I meant the juice. You said "Wow this juice I got this morning is something else. I haven't stopped vapeing and I can barely keep a battery charged." I'm always interested when someone gets that excited about a particular juice.

I'm really liking my Kanger T3 bottom coil clearo. This is my 23rd day using it quite a bit everyday. I have had a few wicking problems but not very often. I will be buying more when they become available again probably the end of this week or next before suppliers have any. There is a huge demand for them right now so if you want to try one you should get one when they are available. DV should have them next week sometime. I will post when they are available again.:)

So glad you're still enjoying the T3s. My neighbor has said her husband is really enjoying using his. Anyway, she said that his juice was starting to turn dark and she wondered if it was worth it to try to figure out how to clean them or just replace them. I haven't used them, what do you recommend. I thought she should just replace the coils.

Our kids were always on us for smoking too. I'm not so sure they really understand vaping, especially since it looks like we're smoking, but it's not a cigarette so they're happy about that. I'm really impressed that you were able to switch so easily to vaping. Guess you had a lot of incentive! Sorry to hear about your injury. Sounds like you're well on your way to cutting out the nicotine. There are some people who vape 0 nic just because they enjoy vaping, and I guess we do get hooked on the mechanics of smoking so vaping is a good alternative. If it keeps you away from the ciggies you're right, it is a miracle! Happy vaping!!

Ah Iffy, that's a shame your friend didn't stick to vaping. At least you got him through the surgery and he knows what's possible. Who knows, he may go back to it.

What's ironic is that he went from vaping full time back to smoking full time like some folk go to vaping... one cig at a time!

Some people just don't want to leave go. My neighbor friend still hasn't and it's been a year. And she does enjoy vaping. Well, each to their own choices. Still, it was nice of you to help him.
