   I've done worse than that. Dry burning on one while vaping another....................guess which one I put to my mouth

I took the tip off an i06 to whiile dripping one day and put it to my mouth before putting the tip back on. Maybe it was good I'd already pushed the button because the heat caught my attention. Duh.

Hi everyone, great thread you got here.

A question for you folks that smoked 2 PAD for many years. Did you quit the stinkys immediately or did it take
some time? If so, how long? Also what mls of nic enabled you to part ways with Marlboro Man?

Hey there OC. I was one of the ones so shocked at vaping that I never finished the pack I had open. I had 12 nic cartos. Hubby though, kept smoking for over a month while vaping 24 nic. At least the vaping cut down his 2+ PAD smoking. Then he went down to 18, but found WTA. He hasn't smoked a cigarette since. Everybody has their own pace though. Even if you're smoking some cigarettes while you're vaping you count the cigarettes you haven't smoked as your success. It's that much less burning chemicals you're inhaling. I got a friend started and she vaped and smoked for months while she tried to use up the carton she had. She finally said to me one day that she enjoyed vaping better than smoking and couldn't wait till she was done her last pack. Are you having problems getting off the ciggies?

Oh goodness Janet, glad that heat caught your attention before you got burned!

Well, if I hadn't hit the button first the taste would have gotten my attention pretty quick. Don't remember the book I was reading at the time, but I must have been pretty absorbed in the story...

I was one of those that quit right away..I smoked my last 1..while the batteries in my starter kit were charging..First I vaped 24mg..Then after about a month 18mg..currently at 14mg..The important thing to remember,is dont count the 1s you still smoke..Count the 1s your not smoking..Its a journey..Not a race..everyone has thier own pace..And Welcome Bud:)

Welcome to our lil' corner of da ECF!

I was fortunate and quit a 45 year 2 PaD habit with my first vape. Started with 24mg for several weeks. Then went to 18mg for 'bout 10 months. Been on 15mg since.

Are ya having issues? If so, maybe we can help ya!

I'm really liking my Kanger T3 bottom coil clearo. This is my 23rd day using it quite a bit everyday. I have had a few wicking problems but not very often. I will be buying more when they become available again probably the end of this week or next before suppliers have any. There is a huge demand for them right now so if you want to try one you should get one when they are available. DV should have them next week sometime. I will post when they are available again.:)
just got a notice, IVAPE just got the T3's in, $5.45..shipping kinda high, $3.45 under $25 and then 11%..hope tthat helps ..

I've been up and down with the stinkys. I'm vaping 30 and 24 nic right now but it's a funny thing, sometimes
it has no effect on me at all and sometimes it's just right. I'm thinking about a VV and maybe try some WTA.

Several years ago I tried the gum and lozenges and got quite a kick from the 4mgs of nic.

I would say you are in the right place, most of us were hard core long term smokers who have been able to reduce or quit the cigarettes
I smoked atleast 2 packs a day for 30+ years. I had a upper respitory infection (have'nt had one since I quit) and it hurt to smoke. Bought a cig-a-like in the highest nic level they had and I havent smoked since. I was tempted a few times due to battery issues with the smaller ones. The first few weeks were the hardest, I quickly learned the devise was more important than what I put in it, when I finally bought a ego vv I was in good shape, just recently bought a larger vv, but still use the smaller ego 650 for work and out and about. It has been 11 months for me and that is nothing short of a miracle!!!!!!

My friend introduced an 808 to me while at lunch one day, and when I got back in the van to go home, I lit a cigarette and it tasted so horrible, I couldn't finish it.

Went home, ordered my first 808 kit and that Wednesday around noon was my last cigarette. I started at 16 mg, and that did the trick. I had 6 cigarettes in my last pack of the carton, and I was so happy I didn't have to buy another carton. After using patches that made me ill, and a script from the doctor I never filled, I was so so ready to quit, so it came rather easy to me

Each person has their own timetable, and we are so unique in our habits so nothing is right or wrong.....just different.

Glad you're with us!!!! :)

LOL, I've been using my stick batteries a good bit the last few days. I just picked up a pen and tried to vape it!

I have one of those extra fat Bic ball point pens and I'm considering making a mod out of it.

Hi Old Curmudgen and Welcome. The only thing I did differently was take my pack of cigs out of my pocket and put them out in my shop. I smoked less than 3 packs in a month and gave the last of an open pack to my wife. Thank God!!

Hi there OC - welcome to the thread.

I was at 2 PPD+ for years at the end of 45 yrs of smoking. I started w/ skinny 510 batts & 24mg of nic. I cut down to about 1/2 PPD the after about a week. Then to 'bout 1/2 dozen a day by the end of the 1st month. Also, I did cut back to 18mg nic because the TH at 24nic was a bit too much for me. But there I was stuck. Even moving to a better setup, the eGo, I just couldn't let go of the smoking. But I was satisfied that I had reduced my smoking significantly. I wasn't beating myself up over those I smoked, after 45 yrs of smoking I wasn't concerned about quitting in 1 day, or 10 days or a month even. I did have a mental commitment to make it work, but wasn't pressuring myself to 'do it now'. After a couple months, I was down to just a few like 3-4 smokes a day. I was still 'craving' more, but was making do with just a few. Then I heard about WTA and started reading all I could 'bout it and the MAIO, minor alkaloids in tobacco smoke. I hooked up with a vendor here in PA that was selling WTA juice. Well the day I started using WTA, was the last day I had a cig. That's coming up to a year in a few weeks. Back then I was probably vaping WTA 80% and nic-juice 20% of the the time (and I vape a lot!). Now the ratio is reversed and I don't depend on the WTA juice as much as I did month's ago. Seems after hanging around ECF for a year now, the vast majority of vapers have been successful with nic only, but for some of us that wasn't enough. I don't recommend WTA juice to people unless they've given nic-only a fair try. I had been vaping into my 3rd month when I started with it, and it did help me over the last hurdle to completely quit smoking.

Welcome OC , I was a pad smoker for about 20 yrs and quit the same day i bought my ego kit. I had tried a cig-alike from the local gas station and it worked but i couldnt keep batteries charged long enough for it to do me any good so was still smoking. Then i got on ECF and found these great folks and got the ego and out the window the smokes went and i havent looked back. I find vaping to be so much more pleasurable mainly cause the taste and it a heck of alot safer. Keep at it dont worry if your still smoking everyone is different like everyone said count the ones you didnt smoke.

One of the things that could be helpful is to try some different flavors. Like my friend said, she came to enjoy the flavor of her vape more than the flavor of the cigarette. Surprisingly I found I liked the fruit flavors more than the tobacco ones which is why I tell people to try different flavors - might be surprised. There are several types of tobacco flavors so I'd recommend trying some of them.

I'd also recommend finding more than one flavor that you like. There's so many to choose from! It's not unusual for people to love a flavor for awhile than then not want it anymore. And I find that I'll be vaping a great flavor for a few hours and then realize that I'm not tasting it anymore so I have 4 flavors that I rotate between during the day. That way I've got little reminders during the day of flavors that taste good.

I've been vaping for a little over a month. My Sweetie's Mother lives with us. She is 72 years young and had a stroke a couple of years ago. She does fairly good for her condition but she smokes more now than she ever did. Last Sunday I took her to the local B/M shop. Wound up the owner GAVE her one of their batteries that they use for juice tasting. I bought her a 7ml bottle of 6mg Banana Nut Bread juice. Couple of days went by and after having to remind her to use the "Other Cigarette" She started to use it on her own. Past few days I let her try out some "BlackCherry" that I had in an old vivi nova tank. She like it also. Well within about 30 minutes I wound up losing 2 1100mah kGo's, 2 clearos, and the battery charger that goes with it. Was it worth giving up my backups for someone like her,who has to be reminded how to use it and when to use it everyday. My answer is HE@@ YES IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I do it again in a split second to try and help someone. This way we can remind each other of what we're trying to do. :toast:

Fantastic story tnt! What a wonderful son-in-law you are. It's always nice to hear a success story. She probably has no idea yet about the wonderful world of flavors out there to try, but I'm thinking you're both going to be doing some exploring together!
