I'm not over 55 but i have been smoking for 18 years and was around 1.5-2 packs per day. Already dianosed with Chronic Bronchitis and smoking-induced asthma. Love that you were open to vaping. Now I am trying to talk my Grandma into switching to vaping. I hope she is going to switch as she has already suffered terribly as a result of smoking. For me it was vape or die. I was never going to be able to stay off cigs for any length of time... managed to quit only while pregnant, and shamefully, smoked while nursing my kids. I kept it to a minimum, but I did that!

Welcome Chloe! Congrats for taking the plunge with vaping. It's a whole new world with lots of choices so there's something for everybody and the fun is finding what you like best. If you've read through any of this thread you've probably noticed that whatever it is you're looking for there's somebody here who knows something about it and we're always happy to help. It's great that you've started the journey and hopefully will be able to share it with your Gradma. It's better to try this stuff along with someone else anyway. Let us know how you're doing.

The ZMax actually doesn't lose your setting if you are using the Power or wattage mode. I leave mine in that mode all the time and never have to reset it after changing battery. There is a clone ZMax out now too made by Segelei that has a better display than the Smok ZMax and there is a Co-op going for them now for about 60.00. It appears to be identical to the Smok ZMax. I paid 80.00 for my ZMax in a Co-op.

Man I'm a slow typer everytime I make a comment some one has already answered. lol

I love ECF, I can say this and break the news w/o getting a glare. Ssshh, don't tell Janet - I'm in on the Zmax clone w/ OLED screen.

Well I did it. I winced a little when I hit the "Place Order" button but it's done now. One purple mini Provari for me.

Woohoo!

8 days I see, better than me! Good job.
I'm still looking for that sweet spot chaining 24mg and some 30mg which
does a pretty good job. Yeesh what a struggle it's been!!

I have some 36mg WTA juice from Heather's waiting for me at home.

Don't give up. When I started vaping, every cig I didn't smoke was a struggle. It was a couple month's and I thought I wouldn't make it. Well I did and it's been a year since I had a smoke. I'm soooo glad I stuck with it.

Yep, I was the same way in the beginning. The first one in the morning was the last one I gave up. At first the one or two in the morning, the one after meals and that last one before I went to bed were the hardest to give up. The one before bed went first. Then I was able to cut the two in the morning down to one in the morning (not without a struggle let me tell you - I had a lot that I lit and snuffed out and I mean a lot...), and finally the one after breakfast and then the one after dinner and for a long time I held on to that one morning one and the one after lunch. But I eventually dropped that one after lunch and some time down the road I gave up the one in the morning - at first not every morning, but most and eventually gave it up totally. I slipped twice - bought a pack - they tasted terrible - I smoked one and threw the rest away (well maybe I smoked two (shhhhh). I really do not know when I smoked my last one and once in a while I do think about them, but I am not going back - my guess it took 3 - 5 months to totally quit - I have won this battle and I am claiming victory with scars, but a good victory it is...

That sounds so similar to my story Semi. I still have a 1/2 pack of ciggies in my shop from my last pack I bought. It's a reminder of what I don't do anymore. I look at them and say - boy I'm I glad I finally stopped after 40+ years of addiction.

I do not think I could do that Mike. I would be afraid that one might slip in my mouth one day...

I have a house full of them. Did RYO for years & then loaded up on pipe tobacco & tubes when they jacked up the tax. Tried one after about 6 months of straight vaping - 1 puff & gagged...threw that one out & never looked back. I've kept my old inventory as an investment - you never know what's going to happen & how desperate someone may be.

If ya really want a gag reflex. I have a Mason jar filled w/ all the butts I smoked in a week. Take the lid off that puppy and it's truely gag city. (the jar of butts was part of a Smoke-Enders program I tried a bunch of years ago).

Whenever I tried to quit or even cut down I always had to have some ciggies stashed somewhere or I'd panic. Mike kept saying for the longest time that we should stop and finally one day I suggested we try eCigs. That launched Mike into research mode and after several days we ordered IR808s. I had no idea that vaping was going to be so similar to smoking so from my first vape I put the rest of my pack on top of the refrig. and haven't had one since. I knew that 1/2 pack was up there - just in case - so no panic attacks. 8 months later I finally threw them away. I still think of it as a miracle. Probably couldn't have done it without that 1/2 pack sitting there.

Here it is a year later. Our friend was going to stop his work on the front of our house for the day because he had to go to the store to get a pack of ciggies. To my surprise Mike disappears in the garage and comes out with a whole unopened pack so he wouldn't leave! Whoa! After all this time! The man is full of surprises!

Actually it did work for a year. The company I was working for paid the fee for any smoker wanting to do the Smoke-Enders program. I enrolled and 6 weeks later I flushed the unused pack of ciggies down the toilet. The next day, per program instructions, I left the house to spend the day doing something fun. I went to a woodworkers expo and spent way too much money on stationary tools for the shop. After all, I was just following instructions. And to my surprise I put the smokes behind me relatively easy the following week. I was smoke free for a year+. Then there was some emotional things in RL and I bummed a smoke from a friend. That was it - right back to 2 PPD for the next 10 years until I found e-cigs, vapin' and ECF. From that experience I know I can never smoke another cig, even to see how nasty it tastes.

Me either Semi! I've smoked three cigarettes since I started vaping and the last one was when my brother was in ICU almost two years ago but I still wouldn't want any laying around.

I guess that each person is different. Me, I have 10 cartons of cigarettes and one opened pack right in front of me with a lighter on the top. My old nasty ashtray is visible off to my right. My last cigarette was smoked on 2-5-2011, and I'm almost certain I have it whipped forever. I think that I kept what I had to remind me of cost and just how nasty a habit it is. I would imagine that open pack of cigarettes is pretty ripe by now and might be like smoking dirty socks. Hey - whatever works for you, and this has worked for me. I don't think that anything could make me pick up another cigarette.

Good Morning Everyone. Stinkies (good name for them) are part of our past. We all handle them in our own way. Anyone that can keep a pack sitting in front of them - my hat is off to you... I can see them in the stores and when I see $4 and up for a pack I am glad I got away from them. When I go to Florida and I see their prices I am really glad I got away from them...

Vaping will slowly become more and more popular and as it does they will learn to tax it, increase the cost factors for more profit, reduce the options to make it simpler (for them) and then drive some people back to smoking because that is just the way it is... Sorry for the small rant, but that just is the way it will be...

Okay, let's talk about bang for the buck. Which one of these VV PV's offers the best bang for the buck? Variables like quality, features, longevity, ease of use, and of course price all being considered...

I am in the middle of refitting myself with a new regiment of devices - most of the ones that I bought in my first round of devices are now dying so I am in the replacement mode. I am going to go to replaceable battery devices and I am thinking of trying VV. I vape at low volts since I prefer cooler vapes so VV never really meant anything to me, but the more I read in this thread the more I think that I may like the variation of a higher voltage vape periodically (I knew I should stay out of this thread (LOL))... Can ya'll help?
