THIS! I haven't even been vaping a week yet, and I'm terrified of some of this equipment you folks have. AND I've spent $300 on stuff that (a) I don't like or (b) may now not be the equip I need. *sigh* I've already ordered 10 more Nanos, 2 more batteries, a Volt kit for DH, and juices from other suppliers. SO... for now, I am going to wait for all of this nonsense to come in and try the new juices w/ the equip I already have. If that does not help w/ the taste issues, then I'll consider starting over.

LOL..........I well know that terrified feeling.......thought when I started out that I was going to end up having to get a degree in electrical engineering just to understand all this vaping stuff. It's been quite a journey and there are so many great people here to help with every step along the way. Don't give up, keep on going. It make take some trial and error before you find what works best for you, but you WILL get there.:)

Hang in there Natasha. It was the same for me when I first started this journey. I wasted a bit of money trying this and that. Then I found ECF and as they say, The rest is history. You will find what works best for you and in the end it will have all been worth it.

Yep... that pretty much sums it up. And currently I don't have the TIME for a bunch of stuff that requires any in-depth disassmbly, assembly and maintenance. I LIKE gadgets. But I've no desire to take them apart. I just want to buy one and watch it work. ;)
Oh, I won't give up. But, I'm not going to throw in the towel on the Volt system yet, either.

Or in my case, I don't have the ability to 'fiddle' with a bunch of stuff, I have severe arthritis in my hands. I want to just 'load and go' with as little assembling as possible.

... when I need to switch one out, if it's not empty, I just stick the syringe in and suck up the juice and then take the tank completely off.

When I need to replace a tank carto with any remaining joose in the tank:

- fill (condom method fer moi), then punch the new carto
- remove carto tank from PV
- with tank upright on a firm surface, press down on the tank with the threaded carto end down until carto end is flush with the tank 'bottom'
- with the tank in one hand, turn tank upside down
- with new carto in the other hand, insert new carto filler end against the old threaded end
- press until the new carto 'displaces' the old carto (this should put the new carto end into/through the top o-ring)
- remove old carto if necessary
- adjust new carto to correct position

Geeze, that reads complicated, but it's truly a simple process. Do several 'dry runs' and, hopefully, ya'll see the simplicity of the method; quick, no syringes, no (OK, for legal purposes, minimal) joose loss.

TBH, rarely do I change tank cartos with much joose in the tank. When I'm getting joose darkening, I just dump the joose, rinse the tank out, dry and insert a newly filled carto.

For the adventurous, frugal and lazy, give it a try. If you have any issues, get back with me. Oh... and no, I will not respond to calls from your lawyer!

Molli............me too, but that hasn't stopped me from trying all kinds of stuff........except for making my own coils, but I think I may have found a work around for that too. Found a thing at the craft store for making wire coils for jewelry and one of the rods is thin enough ;)

I'm laughing with you Natasha. How well I remember feeling overwhelmed! It's a good thing I have my hubby to do the worrying for me. I call him inspector gadget. He kept doing the researching all over ecf and then ordered one new thing at a time, figured out how it worked and then went on to the next thing. I just watched and jumped in when it looked interesting to me. So, I was very lucky. Eventually we gave away our original set ups to people who were just starting. Now I'm giving away my 2nd set ups - we've moved on. Well, Mike has moved WAY further along than I am, but I'm quite happy where I am. Everyone here is so helpful though so as long a you keep asking your questions we'll keep your head from melting down. Just think of all that you're learning along the way and before you know it you'll be passing on advice to others. :toast:

Natasha and Kari, are you sure you're changing your equipment soon enough? I notice I tend to use mine longer than I should and put up with diminished or altered flavor before cleaning or changing a head etc. I don't know if maybe this is something that might help especially if you could taste a flavor one day and not another. Just a thought.

I've found this to be true as well, Janet. I generally alternate between clearos and that "diminished flavor" is exactly what tells me it's time finish the juice in the one I'm using & clean it. If I'm in a hurry, then I just switch to an already-clean clearo.

I do the same thing in the opposite direction, also with non-flanged cartos. I punch a whole bunch of cartos ahead of time, so my cartos are punched before filling. I also condom fill them.

1. Remove drip tip.
2. Remove carto tank from pv.
3. Push the new carto(primed and punched with drip tip on) down into the tank from the top. The old carto pops out, and the new carto is pushed into place.
4. Screw the tank back on pv.
5. Take several drags without power. All ready to vape.

I was told that by doing it this way, you don't risk damaging the tank's inner O rings by pusheing the sharp edge of the carto through them.
I use only tanks with endcaps because this can be very unpredictable with tanks that use grommets instead.

You say tahmahtoe (you are from Maine, right?), I say 'mater...

Actually, some of my cartos have a base that is just a lil' tad larger in diameter than the carto body. Ergo, 'mater... rut roh... INCOMING!!!

I think I said somewhere in this thread that the smok redux was just like it but a different manufacturer. :) It's the rebuildable version of the stardust. The Stardust short wick was the first, then Vision made the Stardust V2 (long wick) and then the V3. I used the Stardust for a long time and it was a good clero. The smok redux heads are different though, so still looking for my V3 heads cheaper than $2.95..sigh.
