Oh, well, that's not good! Here I thought you punched them yourself and couldn't imagine how big the hole had to be to see the glow from the coil!! That can't be right can it? Never saw holes that big in a cart.

Not sure. Is it normal for the coil to glow bright orange?

OMG!  :laugh:Took a nap and missed the party :D

Natasha.........I've got both the xtar and Nitecore chargers......love them. About button top or flat top batts for the vamo.....flat tops are fine. They are what I use. The first vamos that came out had a small issue with the spring in the end cap......that may be why button tops were advised, but that's been fixed........so you should be fine with either.

When you get it.... come on back here and everyone will help you to get the right settings on it. You want it in RMS and power...which means watts.......instead of volts.

One really nice thing about getting an advanced device........you'll get an error warning on the display when there's a short......and it won't fire :)

You can try an 18650 batt if you want.....but like most here, I only use mine in the shorter confiuration

Button top and nipple top batteries are the same as each other.
Flat tops have no nipples or buttons.

The Busardo review points out that when 2 of the 350 batteries are stacked in the Vamo, the internal electronics for some reason will allow you to crank it up too high and burn out a low-resistance delivery device. When you use a single 650 instead, the protective circuitry will prevent that from happening.

The only time I ordered Boges, the QC department must have been on vacation! No mo' Boge fer me! Now, must say that Jewels luvs 'em...

I used to prefer Boge cartos. I was a diehard Boge girl for a long time. Then Bogegate hit. I never got involved with any of their questionable cartos because I already had a good supply. I had to try some other cartos because I needed to know what I'd do when I needed to get more. I tried Kangers, didn't like them. I tried Smoktech single coils, and I found that they last longer than my pre-Bogegate cartos. So, now I'm a Smoktech carto girl.

I ordered two 1300mah Vision Spinners on Friday. Now, thanks to this thread, I've also ordered a Vamo with two 350 batteries and the charger that many are warning against. I'll order the better charger soon but I just wanted to get everything from the same vendor. I hope my need for convenience doesn't cost me in terms of wrecked batteries. I ordered from free-cigs dot com because the price on the Vamo was $9 less than the other place I found it. I got the SS version which is supposedly not as scratch-prone or fingerprint-prone as the other versions.

Can those be cranked up to 4.5 to 5.0 volts or do they melt above 3.7?

OC, gotta say, taste wise, that my 1.5Ω cartos aren't gonna handle much over 3.7V; unless ya want some really hot vape! Not my style. Will my cartos handle that voltage? Yepper, but I can't.

I've tried cartos, clearos and atties from 1.25 - 2.8Ω. There was a bad rap on da LR (low resistance) coils which I still don't agree with. Da bottom line is all about da watts. Match your coil and voltage and the VV/VW capability is a moot point. Yeah, there are some that chase the magic wattage and/or are blowing vape out their butts. But (not redundant), I like my vape 'round 9 - 10 watts. Eureka... that works out to 1.5Ω @ 3.7V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, now I'm a Smoktech carto girl.

Yes, it is supposed to glow bright orange, but I've never seen a hole in a carto big enough to be able to see it! A hole that big would flood the carto and the coil is not supposed to be firing while submerged in juice.

I started out with cartos and even have a carto tank or two... been using atomizer tanks lately because there is more flavor and less hassle ;)
Since clearos are the only delivery devices I've used, I sometimes get the feeling that I'm getting my coffee at Starbucks, or brewing it at home in a Keurig or a Mr Coffee. In other words, I think it's great, but only because I don't know any better.

Hi Constance. I'm pretty sure you're right about Joyetech making the Tornado's for TW.

Here's the best price I've found for Joyetech passthrough batteries. I haven't bought one (yet) but due to the reviews, I did email Matthew and he confirmed they are indeed the Ego-C Upgrade version. When you go to the site you'll see he is currently out of stock on all of them. That's because he sells so many. When they come back in stock, people run wild to get them at that price

If you decide to get them from Matthew (I've ordered tons of T2's and T2 coils from him - always great service, no probs at all) use coupon code ecf for 10% off. If order totals $30 or more after coupon, shipping is free.

Joyetech eGo-C 650mAh/1000mAh USB Passthru Batteries - Colors!

I also need to order at least one more battery as my Tornado passthroughs are getting way old. 15 mo/14 mo and 12 mo respectively. Got to say those have been awesome batteries. I might breakdown and order another one from TW. Just wish they had somewhat better prices. Even my Smok batteries have been long lived. One finally died last month and it was 13 months for it. Doesn't Joyetech make the Tornado for TW?

I checked the VAMO battery thread... looks to me like they are using both. SO... it may not matter..?
    Do you stack the 18350s?

You got that right! And after reading the VAMO battery thread, it did not get any better. That thread has made me more confused. One thing I did get from the VAMO batt thread is DON'T STACK the 18350 unless you know what you are doing. That rules me out. nI had ordered 4 of the 18350, but now I'm thinking I may change 2 of those to 1 18650.. just for grins.
WHY are batteries so damn dangerous....?? OMG

Iffy, you are so very kind. I've just watched most of Phil Busardo's review of the VAMO, which was helpful. And really, in looking at it.. it's HUGE. I cannot imagine that I will ever want to use it except in the short mode w/ 1 little battery. BUT.. if I do... I will come find you first so that you can teach me to safely stack batteries. He did say that the one long batt rattles around alot, where as two short ones stacked do not. I'm not sure which style of TOP he had on his short batts, but they did not rattle.

Natasha - it's Ok/safe to stack in the Vamo, but like Iffy said you should always use the 'same pair' so the discharge at the same rate as they age. BUT-but, i don't think you'll like the length of the PV with the extension tube. You may just want to keep you order for 18350's 'cause even w/ 1 18650 - it's looong PV.

Notice for anyone getting a Vamo --- make sure you switch it from NO1 (average) mode to NO2 (RMS) mode. In NO1 mode the actual volt/power output can be much higher than what you set for the volts/watts.

I ordered two 1300mah Vision Spinners on Friday. Now, thanks to this thread, I've also ordered a Vamo with two 350 batteries and the charger that many are warning against. I got the SS version which is supposedly not as scratch-prone or fingerprint-prone as the other versions.

We just placed our 1st order with free-cigs - they had good prices and low shipping. I was so impressed that they called me to say one of the drip tips we order was out of stock and we swapped it for another. I just thought that was good customer service for a $3 item.

What brand do you use Iffy?

If you're searching for a different brand of carto to use, check out Ikenvape. I've tried 3 different kinds from him and liked them all. They are more expensive than others and maybe because we don't use a lot of carto's that doesn't bother me too much.

I started out with cartos and even have a carto tank or two... been using atomizer tanks lately because there is more flavor and less hassle ;)

What 'atomizer tank(s)' are you using? Don't know much about the current offering for them. Thanks

Amazing how you can be 'dead to the world' on benadryl. Nothing wakes you..the phone..hubby going to work...but the sound of a dog ...... on the rug..BAM, you are up! I survived the great latex disaster, and had an email from HHV waiting for me. They gave me some suggestions on my dripping dripping atty, and offered to replace it if that didn't work. (It didn't). Really not worth sending it back just wanted to give them a heads up on a possible problem. For me to send it back I would have to try and get my power chair downtown to the post office, maneuvering across town over unplowed sidewalks covered in ice and snow. (I don't drive) SO not going to happen since this thing has 'slicks' on it and doesn't drive worth crap on anything but dry ground. (and no, they don't make snow tires, or chains for it...I've looked)

ITA w/ you both that it's doubtful I'd ever use that PV in the long mode. It's huge.

I read the manual, seems comprehensible. And the device does not appear to be too difficult.

Yep, the bendryl renders me unconscious - haven't needed it in years thank heavens, but nice to know it works! Isn't it funny what sounds can snap you awake? I'm glad to hear you're ok this morning. I was worried about you last night. Having an allergic reaction can get scary fast. Stay away from that bed!

Glad you contacted HHV. Don't blame you for not going to the trouble to return it, but at least you heard from them and they did offer to replace it - that tells you something about their customer service. And now they know there could be some problem with a shipment they got.

When Mike put the extension on his I told him it reminded me of those huge flashlights the police use! Guess it would be good to have if you were in a dark ally! Can't imagine vaping on something that huge myself, but some people like it.

As soon as I noticed my hands getting red and swelling, I kept them VERY FAR away from my face until I could wash them. I tend to have my throat swell shut and stop breathing if Latex gets anywhere near my face. Should have seen hubby trying NOT to drown me when he gave me the benadryl and held the glass of water..his were the only latex free hands at that time...mine were in hot water and soap....

I find You Tube is my friend for anything Vaping. :vapor:
