I need some juice advice, plz, ya'll....

I am going to order a few flavors from myfreedomsmokes, as I have read that they are strong.

Howev.... there are choices that I am unfamiliar with:

1. Extra Strong Flavor (May need to be reduced) - what does "reduced" mean? Too thick consistency or just a warning that it might be too strong?
2. Mix: 100% PG, Some VG 15%, Extra VG 40% - I have NO CLUE what to choose here. The only juices I've tried thus far were from SI and I don't know what "mix" those were. I am still using a VOLT and a NANO, which I assume that might matter...?

TIA

Sorry, can't help you with that. I've never ordered from them, but I seem to have settled down with some light fruit flavors. I don't think you'd be able to taste my juices at all!

Natasha I smoked for 30+ years 2 packs a day so when it came to tast IT was not there, but a member in here told me try colgate mouthwash called peroxyl it worked for me

LOL.. I now have 3 diff kinds of toothpaste, and this would make the 3rd mouthwash. In less than a week. My dentist is not going to understand this.... :)

Natasha and Kari, are you sure you're changing your equipment soon enough? I notice I tend to use mine longer than I should and put up with diminished or altered flavor before cleaning or changing a head etc. I don't know if maybe this is something that might help especially if you could taste a flavor one day and not another. Just a thought.

Natasha, I smoked for 46 years and I too feel most of the time that my taste buds are duds. When I first started I would read about others vaping all the wonderful tasting juices. Since I started with a small cig like that actually did not have much taste - I actually found that when I got my twists that the first ejuice I vaped was almost too strong.

Gradually as I got used to the better equipment - I did adjust to that juice. However, my tastes have continued to change. I have just gone thru another bout of not being able to taste much - which is frustrating. For me - I just continued to try different flavors and actually for a day - just vaped unflavored.

All I can say it to just try to buy smaller sizes - since even if you find something you like - that could even change by the time you finish that sample. Right now I am really enjoying peppermint - just really happy that I can actually taste it.
I ordered 4 flavs from MFS in the smallest sizes, including peppermint, just to give them a go and see.

LOL Natasha..guess that's what I get for smoking 2+ packs a day for 44 years. I just have to kick up the flavoring to taste the juice :)
That seems to be my problem also. Pffft

Natasha, I order often from SI and, from what I've been told, most of their stuff is not 100% pg, but mostly (maybe 80-90%). It's pretty "runny" compared to, let's say, BWB's 60/40 that I have. Don't know if that helps or not. I've also read that vg "doesn't carry the flavor" as well as pg. If I understand it correctly, they're saying that DIYing heavily vg juice, you'd need more flavoring in it than in heavily pg juice.

That said, and just to muddy the juice even worse: I've wondered if heavily vg juices don't just need to steep awhile for the flavor to come out. That 60/40 I have was one I didn't like much when I first got it. Tried it again after a couple of weeks and still wasn't crazy about it. Pitched it in the drawer last summer and, on a whim, got it out a few days ago ... shazam! It's great now! LOL

I'm no help at all on the varieties of flavors other than tobacco.
Fizzy

Well... there are def some juices here that may sit for awhile, as they have no flavor. I guess time will tell, eh? Although DH has decided now that HE wants to vape, so I ordered him a starter kit from SI. I'm going to pass along to him all of the cartos and niqs that I rejected, so he can try them out.

I started itching and my face was breaking out so I switched to VG. It seems I can now handle a little bit of PG but imho its also based on the purity of the product to begin with. I def prefer organic, etc., so Virgin Vapor is a great vendor- her vg juice is thin enough not to be an issue. It helps to read the Spinfuel reviews- just google that and add yourself to their mailing list. Vape Dudes has become a new vendor for me that seems to have a few I can taste. I mainly used MyFreedomSmokes for my Marlboro-like flavor- after 17 months I just discovered it is made in China- guess I failed to ask first- so I am now on the search for a replacement since I do not want overseas juice.

Will do.. thanks.

......I went almost immediately from tobacco to cherry flavor ....which I still like ...and I have tried lots of fruit flavors, still like cherry the best ...then I found cotton candy ....and that was it .....I mix it with fruit flavors but I like it a lot by itself .....

OK I admit it...I have a major sweet tooth !

and of course, I am an extremist ....so max nicotine, max flavor, and I am still trying to figure out how to balance the vg and the other one ....
LOL.. max nicotine makes m head spin. I keep hoping for that max flavor.

Well... my "equipment" thus far is only Volt batteries and Nanos. But I don't intermix flavors in same Nano, and I do clean the battery and Nano end everyday. And I'm guessing from some of what I am reading that I may be having to upgrade equip soon.

Natasha, it could be the Nano. I have one and I find the flavor very muted in it. Especially after it gets some age on it. I have a coconut cream pie in my nano and well, bleh, almost no flavor at all. Time to pitch the little rascal. You might try a Vision mini Vivi, that one for some reason seems to put out the best flavor. I found them for $8.99 including the 3 heads at Virgin Vapor.

Well, crap.... I ordered 10 more of those little buggers this past weekend.
Hi Natasha!
I was having flavor issues then I dumped my vivi and the T3. Blasphemy I know, but a cart/tank
combo
is the bee's knees for flavor IMHO. Dripping is the purest but I don't have the patience for it
other than sampling flavors.

Are these difficult or high maint?

Natasha, did you have the same taste missing problems with the Volt cartridges or have you only used the Nano? I used to use Volts and their carts had great flavor, but the Nano was highly muted comparatively...

Yes, I did cartos first and no flavor from anything whatsoever. I've actually found more flavor, albeit slight, w/ the Nanos....

I ordered 7 new flavors from Mt Baker & from MFS. I'll try those in the NANO, & if nada, then I'm going to be hunting a new system, I suppose.

For me the carto/tank combo was a breeze. Having a syringe helps and the ones with
the cap on the side look even easier, a Texas Tuff tank I believe.

"Ditto" on this. Carto/tank is the only way for me also. I use the side fill tanks from Mom & Pop & love them, no syringe. I want my vaping experience to be as easy as my old bad habit & this is the only way for me, IMHO!!

I used the carto/tanks for quite awhile. Yes they do produce great flavor on "some" juices. I have 4 of them all sitting on the sidelines at the moment. Ran into a batch of carts that didn't want to absorb the liquid right :( So until I can find what I want in double hole carts they can sit there. Never ever used a syringe with them, but I have some tops off the EC Blend bottles and they are almost as good as a needle bottle top.:D Those larger tipped bottles "suck" even on the ViVi and Kangers. Plus hard to get the juice out with them.

MtBakerVapor bottle tops work fine too. Just not as small as the EC Blend ones.

Natasha, as you can see, everybody has their favorite juices and devices that produce the best flavor for them. I'm not sure how versatile your Volt will be for trying new juice devices. There's bottom coils, tank & cartos, clearomizers and rebuildibles etc. Maybe this is a good thing that your hubby is going to vape now too. You can trade devices and see what you like best.

There are videos out there by people who are reviewing just about any new device that comes out. Just google the device + video and you'll find them. I like Lord Davon and Busardo videos because they seem to give honest opinions and show you the parts and how they work. There's lots of people posting videos, but somehow I have a hard time watching ones that are being reviewed by someone who could be my grandchild.

PS - some say you need a syringe to fill, but there are also very inexpensive plastic bottles with a needle-type top that eliminate the need for a syringe. I use them for my mini vivi novas and tank cartos. That also is a matter of preference. My hubby prefers the syringes, but I'm lazy - it means I have to clean the syringe.

Janet, when my taste buds died I went thru one new Mini Vivi Nova - that I think was a knock off. I blamed the lack of taste on it being a dud. Then started with another new one, blamed the lack of tast on it being new - dumped the juice, cleaned it and dry burned - still no flavor. I was actually cleaning my Vivi Nova after every tank - cause I was changing flavors. I also cleaned my T2 and almost new T3 still nothing.

In my case I really think it was the taste buds. They have been working a little better the last week or so. I am getting good taste with my peppermint (mini Vivi Nova) and some taste with my cranberry/apple (Kanger T3) that I mixed. So I am doing better - I do feel for Natasha because it is no fun when you want to taste the juice that sounds so good.

Thanks for the suggestion - and I know that my T2 now needs a new head - taste was definitely kind off off with it. Just waiting on some new coil heads with the vape mail I am waiting for.

I too just got 3 new Nanos in the order I received last week :( not good that they mute the flavor - although I know that some say that the Vivi Nova does that for them too - and I really like both the larger and mini that I have. Haven't tried them yet so I will have to see.

I know that a lot of folks on here really like the carto/tanks - and I am sure I will get there one of these days - but they still really scare me. In reading threads about them - still seem like more messing around than I want to do. I just want to fill the tank and vape. I am a klutz when trying to fill with a syringe - so I put a needle type tip on the bottle I am filling from and that seems to be way less messy for me.

I find I am way less likely to get juice down the centre tubes when I use the needle top tip. I think even though I was being very careful I was at times getting juice down the centre.

Now anxiously waiting for my Evods - I now have tracking numbers for both orders I placed on Sunday  one showing it should be here by Friday - the other I don't think the package is at the post office yet - but that is the one with the Evods. Since itwas free shipping - I imagine it will be the slower one to arrive :glare:

ETA: Janet - funny I posted about the needle nose tops just after you - great minds think alike

Kari, I got my notice that my evods that I ordered yesterday shipped today - hopefully I'll have them on Friday and then I can see what the fuss is about. I haven't tried anything new in awhile so I'm due right? I need a vape mail day!

I noticed with the mini vivi novas, that it took about a full tank before I was really tasting the flavor of the juice. Then it was fine. I decided it took awhile for those little flavor molecules to work their way up he wick. I don't know, but after a tankfull I liked them a lot. I find they're easy to fill with the needle tip bottles. I also have a tank with a fusion carto in it that seems to be quite nice as well. You just take your tip off, slide the tank up until you can get the needle tip in and fill. Then slide the tank back down, put the tip on and you're good to go.

I haven't used the nanos. My neighbor loves them. She's a menthol person so maybe that taste shows up better than my fruit juices.

I have a vision V3..really like the clero. It produces a great flavor. Having trouble finding heads at the price I want to pay. Lots of knock off to that type of clero, but I would think maybe a smok redux might be close. Heads are cheaper for that one too. But I ordered the evod instead...so we'll see when it gets here.

On the tanks I have trouble sliding the tanks up w/o leaving them on the battery. So I fill all of them that way and when I'm changing the carts in them I slide them up part way on the battery and then unscrew them from the battery. The needle tip or small bottle tips are a must to keep the liquid out of the center tube when priming the cart. Syringe would work good too.

Menthol can be tasted in almost anything LOL

I do it the same way. It's just easier to hod the batt/PV and slip the tank up enough to fill it.

That's exactly how I fill my tanks. Mike had some fusion cartos to use in my dct tanks and when I need to switch one out, if it's not empty, I just stick the syringe in and suck up the juice and then take the tank completely off. Then I can put on the new carto and slip the tank back on and refill with the syringe. I can't imagine trying to do that without it being srewed onto the battery.

The 5 pack of heads that I got with the evod was $7.45 which means they're about $1.50 each. Depending on how long they last that could be a good deal. I sure hope I like the evods, I'm anxious to try them.

THIS! I haven't even been vaping a week yet, and I'm terrified of some of this equipment you folks have. AND I've spent $300 on stuff that (a) I don't like or (b) may now not be the equip I need. *sigh* I've already ordered 10 more Nanos, 2 more batteries, a Volt kit for DH, and juices from other suppliers. SO... for now, I am going to wait for all of this nonsense to come in and try the new juices w/ the equip I already have. If that does not help w/ the taste issues, then I'll consider starting over.
