Decided to read the whole thread. Plan abandoned after first 80 posts when I saw I was less than 1% of the way.

I'm 61. Smoked 2.5 packs a day for 45 years. vaping only for 20 days. Collapsed lung back in July stopped me for the 3 days I was in the hospital plus one more after I got home. (Spontaneous collapse, occurred while I was sleeping, arguing with one lung with the dispatcher who couldn't relate to me being perturbed that I could see the ambulance head down the path of the neighbor on my right, then the path of the neighbor on my left, without spotting the overgrown path to my house. Fun!)

Out of the blue five weeks ago I was shooting the breeze with my baby brother via email, and he put forth the idea of e-cigs. I knew absolutely nothing about them beyond the fact that they existed. All little bro knew about them was that he'd used them in directing the low-budget movies which he writes, produces and directs. (Sci-fi stuff that so far, sells better overseas than in the US.)

I still have never seen anyone other than myself vaping, except for the videos I've watched since getting into it. Anyway, I embarked on an intensive 24-hour search to educate myself. Only thing available locally was Blu. I passed. More research led to Apollo and I got the Superior Ego kit along with an additional 2 30ml bottles of juice to make sure I didn't run out before I could order more. It was important to me to get something that did NOT look like a cigarette.

First 24 hours was great, then relapsed for another week and resumed my Newport habit.

Now I was in a better position to give vaping another try... out of analogs and had given some thought to my vaping method. Hard to quit when there are still analogs around. Vaping takes some getting used to.

I refuse to look at vaping as something I have to do. I have, though, become convinced it's better than cigarettes. THAT I can deal with. I didn't give up anything; I replaced a habit with a better one.

I agree you replaced one habit with a better one. Although, my cigarette smoking was an addiction, not a habit. Several people have a relapse, but just keep at it. Think about that cigarette you DIDN'T smoke. Before long, you won't have a desire for a cigarette at all.

Does anyone vape any "wine" flavors? I've seen a few and just wonder if anyone likes them?

I have been told that wine flavors.. Or any "drink" flavor tasts sort of like the "real" thing but no alcohol.

I haven't, but it's one of the next things on my DIY list.

I have also been looking at some wine flavors. I use TPA Champagne a lot with my fruits, but I don't usually drink champagne. Wine, yes.

Very quietly says......Zap is still working.................

Glad you're ZAP is cooperating... Hope it stays that way...

I'd say it's stock up more time.

I agree. I'm stocked up about as much as I have room for and as much as I can afford. I just decreased my nic from around 10mg to 6mg. I don't notice much difference since I'm a chain vaper anyways.

A Zap is an RBA and you should get one if you like aggravation. LOLLLLLLLLLLL

Made me laugh out loud! I haven't tried any RBA's, don't want to deal with it...

I agree you replaced one habit with a better one. Although, my cigarette smoking was an addiction, not a habit. Several people have a relapse, but just keep at it. Think about that cigarette you DIDN'T smoke. Before long, you won't have a desire for a cigarette at all.

Great advice!! :0

TGIF maybe this won't happen today!! Hope .....

Ditto this! I have 4 orders coming. The MAIN one being from vaporgirl, as without batts, the rest is a moot point. And I am somewhat irritated, as I ordered on SAT, shipment notification on TUES, but absolutely NOTHING as to tracking. SO... WHEN is it to arrive? We live in the country and the mailbox is down the road, which makes stalking the mail box a royal PITA. Pfft

I know mine is the hike too. I hate when I can't track a package and USPS here is all the reasons why they are failing. So Natasha we will wait and stalk together!!

So glad that you decided to join us bigbells!! welcome glitter 2.jpg

Now you got me wondering just how long it would take to read this whole thread!?! LOL

Vaping does take some getting used to. Hope that you find as others here have, that if you stay focused on the vaping and find what works for you, then the cigarettes will eventually lose their appeal.

Our mail delivery is now outsourced thru private companies as USPS can no longer afford to hire employees and cover the benefits they have to offer. So, they outsource it. I never know WHAT time of the day the mail will come or who will be bringing it.

So glad you decided to join us bigbells. This thread is by far one of the most informative with helpful folks who are always willing to share their advice and their vaping experience.

I was one of the lucky ones who had my last cigarette when I opened my vapemail.
I do admit to vaping a lot more than smoking, but the pleasure of vaping far exceeds smoking. Can't tolerate being in the same room as a smoker now........yep, have become a vaping snob.

I retired in 2011 as a city letter carrier after a 25-year career with the USPS. I was a Union activist and officer for most of that time. Managerial ineptitude abounds, yet the majority of USPS's financial woes were brought on by a greedy Congress in 2006. "Hey, the Post Office has money! Let's take it from THEM!"

The issues are complex. The National Association of Letter Carriers has successfully beaten most, but not all, attempts to turn delivery over to private contractors. We continue to fight. Write your Congresspeople and Senators. There is NO logical reason to end 6-day delivery. The USPS receives not one red cent of your tax dollars. Darryl Issa is a buffoon who only seeks to profit personally from dismantling the USPS.

Congratulations on the Switch!! and no, you are not giving up smoking. You are replacing it with something better.
Here are a couple of good places to start out (even if one is mine)
beginner basics - YouTube

For New People - YouTube

start with these and you will be able (in mine at least) to catch some good reviewers to subscribe to.

also look for vapeteam and cozzcon for a couple of good "shows" on vaping. we cannot begin to tell you how much we like you stopping by and I want to let you know you can ask use just about anything. ONE of us will know the best answer for you!

I have told many people in various threads that their USPS Woes are due mostly from inept government that does not give money back into the service. be nice to see how you respond to some of those :)

+1

I'm down to about 4-5 smellys a day. And after you really get into your vaping groove, the cigs taste god awful.

We all look at things differently. I don't ever want to have the intolerance to smoke that was shown to me during my many years of smoking. I do not recoil at the smell of smoke and hope I never do. After all, I've found something better and would happy to share it!
