Gordon, if you have followed this thread then you know we all ramble once in a while. This thread has had more topics introduced than I can remember. You never know what the topic will be today or be able to fathom what may be talked about tomorrow. Chime in and enjoy - the more topics introduced the more interesting it is...

Good morning Semi and Fran, just getting ready to go to bed myself  gotta try and catch a few hours before my little grandson gets up. Went upstairs yesterday evening to find a full set of drums in the middle of the living room

Uh Oh. Who had that wonderful idea? Maybe you need some good earplugs? When my son was little my father-in-law gave him a drum and a whole bunch of drum sticks for Christmas. As we packed up to leave I announced that we were leaving the drum and sticks at Grandpop's house so he'd have something to play with when we came to visit. HA!! They do have drum sets where you wear headphones so you don't drive people nuts while learning.

Good Morning Fran.

Yiddle, I cannot figure out how you pull all nighters. It has been years since I could do it. 4 hours sleep used to be all I needed each day, but now I need at least 6 and I prefer 7. Cannot sleep over 8 yet - my body refuses to stay in bed much past 7 hours...

Me too Semi. I definitely need more sleep now, but my back won't let me lay for that long. We've got a great bed, but after about 6 hours the ache in my back says get up! So, I take a 1/2 hr nap in the afternoon.

And that's the truth! So far today it's been Kanger T-3's, drum sets and sleep cycles!! What's next?

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
    Hey y'all!

I'm over 55 (60 to be exact) and thought maybe this would be a good place to start in this forum. I used to read on another message board and kept seeing a thread pop up that was titled "ecigs." I checked it out and after days of reading about the ecig I decided to take the plunge. That was Jan.9 of this year and I ordered my Joye Ego, I received it on the 11th, along with several juices, and I haven't looked back. The morning of the 11th is when I smoked my last ciggie and I'm ever so grateful! Long gone is the hacking, coughing, wheezing, rattling, etc. No more going outside to smoke when it's freezing cold outside or pouring down rain or blazing hot. No more smelly clothes, hair, etc. I am loving this vaping thing!!

I'm recently divorced, his loss, not mine. I have 2 grown kids, DD - 32 and happily married, DS - 22 and lives with me and has been my rock thru divorce stuff. I love to cook, read, garden, love watching college football and watching a bit more NFL games and love to vape, love it!

I've enjoyed reading this thread this afternoon/evening, but didn't get caught up - not with 900+ pages! Y'all are funny, witty, but most of all such a caring, encouraging group, kudos to you all! I'll go backing to reading now, while I listen/watch Texas A&M kick Auburn's beehinds and babysit the boiled peanuts I have on the stove. Yep, total southerner here, just shy of a redneck, lol.

Anyway, it's nice to be here and I hope I can contribute to the conversation and happy vaping!! :)

I try and maintain a personal policy of no Internet on Sundays, however, today I decided to break that rule and check in ..

A very warm welcome to the best thread on ECF .. or anywhere else for that matter .. we are always, always happy to have a new joiner and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say "Stick around" ..

Welcome, welcome and welcome .. and I'm sure you have plenty to say and we'd like to read it .. you'll find, I think anyway, enough info on many of us that we have gotten to know each other as much as we would have face to face ..

Yow-zer, looky who's here on a Sunday morning. Good morning to you Willie. I actually might do 'double time' today, anticipating losing power when Sandy hits here tomorrow. My FIOS has a battery backup, but I've no idea how long it lasts or if it powers just the tele or the tele & internet. Might find out in the next couple days. If the FIOS internet goes down and I get desperate I can try using my phone as a hotspot - but wireless could be troublesome too I suppose at the peak of the storm.

Love that story. Aw memories. I look forward to see your picks, and they take me back to fond memories. THANKS

You know, when I wrote that post, my hand hovered over the mouse and almost deleted it .. however, sometimes something can trigger a memory that is bittersweet and so I just let it fly, as I tend to do ..

Question for the day .. some say smell is the most powerful sense .. when I smell yeast rolls baking, it takes me back to my Grandmas kitchen when I was a kid .. her and my Grandad were self sufficient folk, having gone thru the Depression .. always had a garden and when he hunted, it was for fresh meat to put on the table .. my Grandad was a WW I vet and built their last house himself at the age of 60 ..

I'd like to see some posts on what brings up an old, good memory ...

The main reason I decided to check in was, prior to hitting the yard leaves today, I am in front of the Weather Channel getting a Sandy update .. I see Bloomburg / Cuomo and others issuing mandantory evacs ..

In a worst case scenario, how might this effect the Election .. ?? any past history on something like this .. ??

Like others have said, Gordon, ramble on. We love a good story. For me, I quit ciggies the very day I picked up an ecig, and never looked back, never even had a desire to have one. I still have the open back of ciggies I was working on that day. I just laugh at 'em when I see them on the top of my dresser. Since then, I have graduated to some very nice equipment and diy all my my own juice. Hubby was able to give up his cigars and nicotine gum as well. He was a former ciggie smoker who turned to nic gum and cigars.

yea, i've got to enjoy a lot of everybodies conversations here..i'm not much of a conversationalist..guess what they used to call a wall flower..more of a listener (reader)...i'm trying though..

    You're doing fine, just fine...

I feel the same way. :)

    Go

I used to pull all nighter up until about 10 years ago, usually crafting Christmas gifts at the last minute. I can't do it anymore either. Since a child, I have always required more sleep than normal, about 9 hours. When younger, I could trim that down significantly if properly motivated. But not anymore...

The main reason I decided to check in was, prior to hitting the yard leaves today, I am in front of the Weather Channel getting a Sandy update .. I see Bloomburg / Cuomo and others issuing mandantory evacs ..

Yep, looks like Sandy is gonna be real ugly for a lot of people. We are really lucky here in Maine. It looks like we'll have some nasty wind and rain and power outages, but not the destruction like further down the coast.

I have no idea how this may affect the elections.
