Meet Me in St Louie Louie
A quickie clip from last Thursdays impromptu gig in Paris by the Stones at a club .. warm up for the 4 show 50th anniversary money grab .. like they need it .. I think the anniversary show tickets topped out at $800 a pop list price .. I don't know what the scalpers are getting .. last time they played St Louis, good seats ended up at about $2800 each soon after they went on sale .. there were several guys that camped out days before they went on sale at the box office and snagged good ones, held them and then cashed in ..

I've always liked the Stones, but for cryin' out loud, maybe it's time to hang it up .. but then again, they could be considered an inspiration ..

Jewels, are you OK up there? I was talking to my friend in Beverly, Mass and they've been having hard rain and high winds since about 2:30 today. Her daughter looked out her window and there was a canoe in her back yard that didn't belong to her. And she's got a 6' fence! Sandy was only just really getting going in NJ so I think it must have been the northern storm that will eventually merge with Sandy.

How can people spend that kind of money for a concert ticket - no matter who it's for??? I saw an article last night about their Paris gig and they called them the Strolling Bones. Pretty Funny. People said they put on a great show though. Don't know who else could have pulled off that kind of show at their age and have people say it was really good.

Well, after 50 years, they should put on a good show not to mention the ticket price .. .. many of the old school blues players kept performing until practically the day they died and that's what Mick and Keith have said "Why quit .. ?" .. of course, the old bluesmen had no money and needed to play to pay their bills .. the Stones travel on a private jet, and it's a big jet .. they have their own chefs that travel with them .. Keith and Ron have their own individual guitar tech that tunes and tweeks and changes strings for them . .. their dressing rooms at a venue are customized .. can you say "Only yellow M&M's" .. Charlie Watts has a private massuse .. the list goes on ..

So, I ordered my first carto and 2 drip tips this afternoon. After watching several youtube videos, I think I can maneuver these new devices, I even remembered to pick up toothpicks while grocery shopping today. We will see, I'm such a novice at all this PV stuff, but I'm learning and there is such wonderful help here. Now, to step outside my juice box. :D I'll get there, one of these days, lol.

    Have a good evening everyone!

Whew! We got through Sandy and only lost one weeping willow tree. We're surprised we didn't loose some of the junk trees along the berm at the edge of our property. Not even broken branches in the yard. Maybe they're in our neighbors yards! Our property is surrounded by trees so it feels like we're isolated here. After coffee we'll have to take a drive around and see how the rest of the area looks. We must have only lost elec for a short time because the coffeepot is on a timer and the coffee was made, but the other digital clocks in the kitchen were blinking. That was pretty amazing because we've lost power during much less than this.

I hope everyone else is OK and they'll check in and tell us they're fine too.

I can't imagine living like that, but as long as they enjoy performing and can do it and people are willing to pay the ticket prices and it makes them happy I say go for it. I just know I've got much better places to put my money.

All is well here. It got blustery up here and rained very heavily for a while. There are some small branches down in the yard. A neighbor down a few houses from us had a tree come down on their driveway. Fortunately, their car was parked further up than where they usually park it. We never even lost power, although the lights blinked quite a bit. A few miles from here, lots of folks lots power. We were blessed.

We had heavy winds and rain here in southwestern Michigan all day today.....the edges of Sandy reached this far. Rough day, but nothing like the east coast folks had. I lived in New England for 15 years, and only remember one time when they thought a hurricane was going to hit us.

Yeah, we don't get many here. I've been saying for awhile now that it's been a lot of years since we had a big one and we are way overdue. I was pretty little when Hazel blew through, but I remember a HUGE tree that went down in our neighborhood. I didn't know enough to be afraid. Plus, my father did his best to make sure we respected, not feared nature. I think that's where I got my interest and enjoyment of weather. (But I am sometimes afraid of it)
