Janet just uncorked a bottle of wine. Hope I don't need the stronger stuff.
You can start with the wine & work your way up......keep vaping tho. Oh Heck - don't waste the wine, just go for the hard stuff - I'm going to join you.
I'm going for the hard stuff & hiding all the razor blades in the house. I'm afraid they're going to have to take me away in one of those very fashionable jackets with the verrry long sleeves

Well, it's been a long, long election season this year .. and now, at long last, it's over .. I stuck with it till the end last night .. I spent countless hours over the last several months in front of cable news networks, trying to formulate my own thoughts .. "We are not a collection of red states and blue states. We are the UNITED States of America." .. I'd like to think the next 4 years will will bear that out .. at any rate, today, we take a trip back to the days when many of us were idealistic youth, believing we could, in fact, change the World .. whether the years have jaded you or you still retain some of that spirit .. the more things change, the more they remain the same

You know, I try to not lapse into commentary or emotional ideology .. but it's been a mental struggle for me the last few months as I take Democracy very seriously .. on one hand, as a small business owner, I have seen my business drop to the lowest point it's been in many, many years .. due to the economy, unemployment, cheap Chinese imports .. I've had to cut and trim and watch every dollar ..
On the other hand, I have always tried to have a soul .. a general compassion for my fellow human beings, a deep love of my Country, a tolerance and respect toward those that hold differing views .. and knowing that I have been blessed to have lived the American Dream ..
I'm not going to say who ultimately won my vote, I'm fairly certain many of you have come to know me well enough to know my leanings ..
On the other hand, I have always tried to have a soul .. a general compassion for my fellow human beings, a deep love of my Country, a tolerance and respect toward those that hold differing views .. and knowing that I have been blessed to have lived the American Dream ..

Willie, luv'd da flashbacks! My senior year I played guitar for a pair of lovely twins that had that killa tight 'family' harmony and sang mainly PP&M. We just missed qualifying for Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour in Tampa ('63). Our highlight was playing for our last HS senior assembly. Thanx!

That's a great story .. oh, the days gone by .. I had a serious crush on Mary Travers back in those days .. my intro to learning the guitar was pretty much the folk movement in the late 1950's, early 1960's .. She was exactly what she was .. Greenwich Villager directly from the clubs and the coffeehouses that nourished the folk-music revival. And, I believe she stayed true to her philosophy until her passing a few years ago.
We do live in interesting times I must agree. Some change is good but it is happening so fast we have a difficult time keeping up with it and most of the time we just don't want to. What ever happened to common courtesy. For the most part the morals of so many are in the toilet. It seems we are moving so fast we don't take the time necessary to teach/learn what it take to be a decent human being. To do unto others.... To turn the other cheek.... To live and let live....
Now we are looking down the road and don't see an end in sight other than more of the same or even worse. So sad....
