Meet Me in St Louie Louie
We do live in interesting times I must agree. Some change is good but it is happening so fast we have a difficult time keeping up with it and most of the time we just don't want to. What ever happened to common courtesy. For the most part the morals of so many are in the toilet. It seems we are moving so fast we don't take the time necessary to teach/learn what it take to be a decent human being. To do unto others.... To turn the other cheek.... To live and let live....

Now we are looking down the road and don't see an end in sight other than more of the same or even worse. So sad....

Now you've woke up the cynic in me ..

To do unto others.... Before they Do Unto You

To turn the other cheek.... and be prepared to get slapped again

To live and let live.... Only if you agree with me

Maybe it's not really that bad .. or it's my old age showing thru .. it's sad because the older I get, the more I sound like my Dad ..

I too have become more cynical in the past few years. I still try to be kind in all I say and do but I am no longer as trusting as I was. I definitely don't trust our judicial system. Won't go into detail but home invasion, we both got shot, intruder got off on a technicality. I'm bitter about it but still try to live by my previous statement. Maybe your Dad was right so it's a good thing. :D

    That's a sad story ..

I mention my Dad mainly because I don't think things, morally anyway, are substantially different than they were back in his day .. I think we simply have much, much more information being thrown at us that brings more to the forefront ..

Mattie, that sounds like horor story.

I don't mean to offend anyone here. I am a practicing Christian. I know I serve a higher authority. My trust lies not in my government, but in the One who made me in His image. I will pray for our president, and I accept him out of respect for the office. I also pray for the morality of our wonderful country. I'm an old fashioned girl as well. I can only do my best to glorify God by my life, and I try to live each day walking in His grace.

I think you are right about that UW. TV and then the internet just spread the word faster than telegraph used too.

It was and I still have flashbacks even after almost 3 years. If it weren't for my Heavenly Father I don't think I would be in as good a shape as I am now. He is my strength. Because of Him we are both still here.

I just heard a very thought provoking statement - last nite, Santa Claus won over morals & hard work. Sorry folks, but this is a very sad day for me as I weep for our beautiful country. Oh well....I'm going to put on my June Cleaver pearls & go purchase some self defense goodies. MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

I agree with you 100% and that is where my trust lies as well. That being said I'm happy with the outcome of the election and only post that because of others voicing their opinons. :)
As far as politics our nation is pretty well divided at 50/50 and has been for sometime so our officials need to learn how to govern under these conditions and pass legislation that helps the American people and not just what will get themselves re-elected. I'm not to hopeful on that though but we can always hope.:)

Good grief, that's horrible for you. I don't blame you for being bitter. Criminals have more rights than their victims. I don't trust the judicial system either, I'm afraid of it - more and more. What's wrong with this picture? Probably just the musings of a doddering old lady, but there it is.

One of the main things I learned is there is no such thing as justice and if something like this can happen to us, it can happen to anyone. We stay in our own little spot in the world and try not to bother anyone in any way yet it still came to us. We now keep all doors locked day and night when we are inside and have cameras all around the house. We refuse to be victims again.

oh matti, I'm stunned to hear something like that happened to you, yet alone the terrible outcome of the justice system. Nice to hear you find comfort in Him.

Thank you Mike. Our Guardian Angels were here that night. There was one more bullet in the gun but it misfired. Had it worked I'm afraid hubby would no longer be with me. I thank God everyday, every minute for that misfire.

Ahhh yes, Iffy humor is like sunshine on the cloudiest of days.

Well, this was truly a 'cloudy day' for me and mine! But... twix love, kindness and humor, we will survive... 'til it's our 'time'.

Was once told to "Smile, it could be worse." Well, I smiled... and sure 'nuff, it got worse!

Iffy....It was not only 'cloudy' but pouring for me today & then a spark of light started coming thru & now the sun shines. The only way I can break this down, as to not offend anyone here & I certainly apologize if I do - imagine someone pouring gasoline, throwing a match on it & low & behold, they are the one that catches on fire; no one else gets burned or blamed. Does this make any sense?
