When I googled Peaches and Cream brand, I got yarns of all colors. Wouldn't bleached be better because that means it wouldn't have any dyes in it? Am I supposed to use regular knitting yarn or something thinner?
I've been reading the Drunker thread, and they mention using cotton rounds, the kind used for make-up. They say you should boil them first. It seems like they would fall apart. But, cotton batten (batting?) is actually a kind of cloth, right? So, it shouldn't fall apart when boiled, I guess.
Bamboo doesn't sound very absorbent. But, Aunt Lydia's #10 is more of a thread, isn't it? Something between a yarn and an embroidery thread?
We got our first snow this year today woohoooo

This is why I rarely go shopping. Ha Ha! My $10 P-Touch cost me $42. Although the website said our closest store had them in stock, when we got there they said they'd been sold out since Black Friday!! She called the next store and they put one aside for us. Of course I had to buy batteries and extra tape while we were there... Fortunately we got out of the store without buying anything else!
I got home and played with it and now several of our bottles have lovely labels that include the recipe. It's nice that it can print 2 lines and using the "narrow" setting there is only the leading inch that's wasted. Not sure why the leading edge can't be shortened - maybe because a very short label could get stuck inside.
LOL Janet, I know what you mean!!! Shopping for bargains can sometimes make for an empty wallet!
We did get it today, and it's still sitting on the counter. We were visiting this afternoon and by the time we got home, it was not the time to put something together.
We already had a large supply of batteries, and we opted not to buy the cartridge there! Both hubby and I agreed that we could get it online at the Brother site or at Amazon for a lesser price! Yep, shipping is a consideration, but if I buy from Amazon and include it with my next order, it will probably be free.
Glad to read that it made some nice labels for you!
ETA: Forgot to ask you if it was difficult getting the label off of the sticky part!

Just type in all your labels at the same time with a couple of 'spaces' twix each label. $aves$ a bit o' tape that way!![]()
No problem getting the backing off! It's got a split down the middle so you just have to fold the label a little and it's easy to grab the backing and peal it off. I was actually getting pretty good at getting the backing off the other tape - if I could remember where I left the Xacto knife! I still can't figure out why on earth Brother would sell tape that's so difficult. I was sure I missed some simple instruction somewhere, but so far other people seem to be doing the same thing using pins or knives.
I'm sure we won't be going back to Radio Shack or Staples to get more tape, but I knew I was going to waste some tape learning how to use the machine - and I did! A lot of times the cartridges that come with machines only have a small amount in it so I wanted to make sure I had enough to last until I had an Amazon order or whatever.

Willie......loved your tribute to Sam Cooke today.....he was a favorite of mine. Thought I would add this one as it was one of his last songs and reflected the times and events that were happening when he died. As I recall his death seemed to have not been investigated beyond what the woman reported. She was white.....he was black....somewhat of a sad commentary of circumstances and how things were dealt with at that period in our history.
