You didn't say if it was a smartphone. The ecf app is decent for gathering information. I also think it was probably her lucky day (whether she realized it or not) by running into you. I would feel pretty lonely without this forum because my dad although he is glad I quit smoking (which he did back in the 60's), still thinks I shouldn't waste my time or money on vaping. My husband quit in 1994 to prove to me and my mom how easy it was, my son quit when he had the worst stomach virus I've ever witnessed in my life so that just leaves me. And I have no desire to give up vaping or go back to smoking. Well, anyway the moral of this story is, that I appreciate and admire all of ya'll. Thank you.

BigBells it's good to hear your dad is doing well. Enjoy your visit. An interesting selection when you put licorice and champagne together... Prayers are with you!:p
I've mixed the Chablis flavor with the Red Licorice plenty of times already and they're fine together. Red licorice a whole different animal than black licorice. I have no clue as to how they even share the same name, since I find no resemblance of any kind... never have cared for black licorice.

Oh the blister healed wonderfully in fact I have a nice callus as a reminder. Haven't tried the new tennis shoes yet but I think they will cause happy feet. The poison oaks has been around for two weeks. I tried to go without Benadryl yesterday but broke down this morning and took another one. I just got some cream that says not to use it with oral medication so I will try that next. Believe it or not, soft scrub helps tremendously. Thank you so much for asking. Ditto on your feelings TX. He is always so kind that initially I thought he was a woman. I have real gender issues. Now he is just a man I wish climbed in my family tree. heehee All of ya'll have become quite special. Hope you and everyone have a great day.

I thought the video was funny. I envisioned the little chinese man working at FT. heehee
Soft soap?!

The Chinese man with the Regal 4000 was definitely the best part.

About 80 new posts in this thread since I last checked in, will read them shortly.

Dad's doing well...usually 2 steps forward 1 step back. Sometimes 1 step forward and 2 steps back, especially following a particularly busy day. Despite the maladies Dad is keeping up with all kinds of things including his duties as an officer of UFO, United Flying Octogenarians. He grounded himself 3 or 4 years ago due to deteriorating eyesight but flew until he was 83. I am thankful every day because Dad's medical troubles don't include Alzheimer's or dementia. He's also working on various plans to sell his company and retire. I retired two years ago. Although people can't tell my booming voice from Dad's, the drive to be self-employed and work past minimum retirement age was NOT passed on to me and I have no sorrow about it. Dad's got several long-time dedicated and very capable employees who handle things quite smoothly when he's not doing much active participation.

Anyway, I originally planned to come here to NJ and stay with Dad and my stepmom Iona for 5 days. As it turns out I'll be staying at least a month and quite likely 2 or more months. I brought enough vaping supplies for only a couple of weeks so have already ordered and received more joose from MBV. When I think of the joose in terms of acceptablility, it's very good. But when I think of it in comparison to what I've been making myself, it's mediocre. So I've ordered some nic juice, PG, VG and flavorings that should be here shortly.

The MBV pre-made flavors that I bought were Red Licorice flavor and Wine Blush Chablis flavor with 2 extra flavor shots each. 3 or 4 extra flavor shots would not have been too much. Both flavors do a remarkable job of matching their names. MBV is out of stock on all menthol flavors so I had to go outside my usual box.
Your father sounds like a very interesting man. Kudos to you for all you're doing to help. It's a good thing you're adaptable - from 5 days to 2 or 3 months!

I hope all goes well. And, I'm glad that you and your father got this wonderful opportunity!

I bought this little travel safe for taking trips... Now I think perhaps I should use it to protect my pv in public!:glare:

Wow!!! Brought tears to my eyes too!

It's too bad she doesn't have a computer. But, NC has LOTS of B&Ms, including 5 locations of Mad Vapes. Maybe if you call ahead for her and talk to the guys there and arrange to have whatever she needs already set aside and waiting for her to pick up?

Thank you so much for what you did and are doing to help her. Chivalry is not dead!

Of all my v-verts, Martha has captured my total devotion to her success. So help me, with her, I saw myself 'bout two weeks into my 10 week cold-turkey attempt 'bout 20 years ago (was not a pleasent situation!).
I've left out many details. But suffice to say that it was a near ethereal experience!

AAAH IFFY .........Your such a fantastic Boy Scout.
Love the story, looking forward to the followup.

Maybe "her non-cooperative husband" will be with her next time she visits the dock, ,..
and you can accidently "trip" him into the drink.

Congrat's on the good deed .. I'm sharing your "makes me feel good" feelings.

No Dancingheretik, Soft Scrub cleaning with bleach help with a lot of the itching. (what can I say, I was desperate and sleep deprived) I googled home remedies and some of them were baking soda and all the way to clorox, so the light bulb popped and I thought of Soft Scrub. I think it works better than the Benadryl cream actually. What can I say? I know I'm crazy and glad I'm old enough not to be concerned about it.

Iffy, I sure hope she follows up with you. I'm sure I wouldn't have been nearly as successful learning to vape without Mike learning with me and of course ECF was invaluable. We didn't have any B&Ms around us in the beginning so there was nobody to talk to. Not having a computer is a huge drawback for Martha! At least if she goes back to her B&M she also has your info and knows not to trust everything they tell her. Sounds like you know a lot more than whoever she talked to at TW and I hope she follows up with you. You're a good man to offer to help her. GO MARTHA!!!

What an awesome and destined event down at the ‘office’ this afternoon!!! Let’s see if I can pull off a Reader’s Digest Condensed version (I’ll leave da large print option up to ya’ll)…

While sitting down by our local boat ramp with my fellow ‘ramp rats’, an ‘older’ frail lady came up and asked if anyone could help her reassemble her cell phone. She had dropped it and was clueless how to put it back together.

I took the phone/batt/cover and demonstrated how to reinstall the batt. While I was explaining/demonstrating the steps, I noticed she had a TW 1100 eGo batt with a carto tank on a lanyard.

Asked her how long she had been vaping (three weeks and frustrated/agitated due to continued withdrawal symptoms) and how she liked it (“No more cigs fer me! I already feel better.”). Well, didn’t take too long to determine she was under ‘nicing’ based upon her agitation, mood descriptions and smoking history (over 45 years, 2 PaD). TW insisted she needed 16mg!

Almost two hours later, the 70 y.o. sweet lady knew she was under nic vaping. I recommended she try 24mg and ‘vape thru’ the urges and edginess. Totally Wicked was to blame and the future looked bright. I gave her two new extra spare 650 mAh batts, charging cable and an automotive USB adapter for her trip to NC next week to get away from her non-cooperative husband and critical friends. Also warned her to be sure to have plenty of supplies.

She was sooooo relieved, to tears, to know that someone understood what was she was going through and had offered some hope and encouragement.

Since she now has my phone number and knows where I ‘hang out’. I’m sure am lookin’ forward to this follow-up!!!

What a great story Iffy. I'm sure glad you were there to help get her straighten out on vaping. I don't think I would have made it without ecf and sure glad I found it before I started vaping.:)

I am not sure if I qualify to post in this thread, but I was invited here by a link in another forum, so here goes.....I'm a 43 yo grandfather with medical issues, so I feel 80 in physical terms. (my wife is 52, does that count?.....LOL)

Welcome aboard Stone and glad to have you here! That's a riot about your mother and a very good lesson that you really should listen to your elders! Although this thread needs to be kept to the vaping topic we also have another thread where we can talk about anything, including vaping. It's our community porch where we can relax and share stories. Feel free to stop by. A meteorite dealer? Wow! I'd like to hear more about that! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...l#post10434341

About meteorites - ignore most of what you see on television because it bears very little resemblance to real meteorite hunting and they over-inflate values of everything found. If you must watch that meteorite hunter show on the discovery science channel, just keep in mind that the dollar values they assign to various meteorites is exaggerated.

I got hooked collecting meteorites when I chanced across some for sale on an astronomy forum. I bought some and never looked back. Now years later, I am selling them as a dealer and I have more meteorites than I can shake a stick at.

There is a lot of misinformation regarding meteorites that is floating around on the web. So, if anyone has a question about meteorites, and you want a frank answer without BS, feel free to ask. :)

I am going to attach a couple of meteorite photos, because they are good eye candy.

The first photo is a 17 pound iron meteorite from Campo del Cielo (which translates roughly to "Field of the Stars")

The second photo shows genuine fragments of the planet Mars. Yes, some meteorites come from Mars! Millions of years ago, a massive asteroid slammed into Mars and ejected many tons of material into orbit, where it eventually fell victim to Earth's gravity and landed here on our little blue world. Their Martian origin can be confirmed by scientific analysis to locate certain hallmarks in the chemistry that point to Mars.

The third photo is a slice of pallasite. Meteorite collectors often refer to pallasite as "celestial stained glass" and it's easy to see why. It's one of the most beautiful things that is not of this Earth.

Best regards,

Mike Gilmer (MikeG, Galactic Stone - Meteorites for Sale - Galactic Stone and Ironworks - Home)
