yeah i've read enough to know better :) waiting on my vivi nova from fasttech and the metal case from health cabin
was just wondering if anyone knew of a cartomizer tank that was all metal....i keep my ego in my shirt pocket at work and most people assume the cartomizer is a pen whereas the evod they stare at

really got the 510 tanks from my mother-in-law but figured i'd snag one for myself for other juices.

The vivi nova that's clear with the metal sleeve (aka "Neptune" or "STV") can crack. The tube is a polycarb blend. There is a pyrex vivi nova, mad vapes is one vendor I know who carries them. Smoktech makes a pyrex DCT (which, of course, you can use a single coil in). Smoktech also has the ARO about to hit the market. It's a pyrex BCC with a metal sleeve. It looks like a slim EVOD (it has eGo threading).

Now there are mixed reactions about the Smoktech nickel mesh cartomizers (bridge less atomizer in carto form with mesh wicking around cup and coils and 3 holes punched in outer tube) but I am staying with those on the regular. A good clean taste with tons of vapor. They have wicking issues after the first or second cleaning. I suggest using them, then throwing them out when they come to the point of needing cleaning. Maybe a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the coil, then proper drying time could remedy the cleaning issue. Changing flavors in the tank is great! You can stack flavors in these things!

Buying one this weekend!

LOL

Lol start out with small puffs, the TH from even the weakest juice can make you cough 'till you break a rib!

I know this because I dripped on a stripped down ego-c atty (just remove wick plate and drip on to coil, use 1.1ml tank with all stoppers and mouthpiece inserts removed) last night and even the WEAKEST juice I have DEKANG MILD 7 made me cough my guts up on the second draw (the second is always the best) and it wasn't coil burn it was just I'd forgotten how hardcore dripping is. Nothing else gives the full flavor of your juice like dripping will!

BTW - Actual old fashioned XL cartos on an ego (not cartomizers or tanks) are the best delivery device I've used to date, better flavor than tanks and the xl ones last forever. Just my opinion.

I've tried most o' da latest and greatest joose devices, pretty much covering da alphabet. I've yet to fall in luv with any clearo! I hate dry hits of any nature!

So after all my 'investments' in joose devices, which one do I use? Just a common, uncelebrated, non-fashionable and satisfying carto tank combo! Ne'er a dry hit and with consistent vaping.

As for da carto/tank naysayers complaining of leaking and filler 'taste', they're doin' sumpin' wrong; or just vaping 'elitest' lookin' fer a justification to spend more vaping money!

Did I mentioned I hate dry hits!!!

I agree, Iffy. I tell people if you like "hassle", if you like very airy-nothing draw and if you like inconsistency, then get clearos. If you like a nice full draw, no hassle and consistency, then use a tank cartomizer.

well that's good news cuz I just ordered some 510 tank cartomizers to test out

the only issue i'm having is I kinda have to go tank system since I'm primarily a clove smoker....sorry to hijack but anyone know any cartomizer tank systems that could handle clove? and I guess i'm a dunce but I don't get what is dripping?

Get a glass tank, like a Phiniac:

Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

It's worth the money.

Do NOT use rubbing alcohol, unless you somehow like that awful taste. Use PGA - works better than rubbing alcohol and no after taste.

This should include IMO you state this as fact I use alcohol along with many others to clean their atty with great success. If you let the alcohol evaporate completly there is no after taste IMO

I've cleaned atomizers with rubbing alcohol and let them sit for 2 - 3 days and that nasty aftertaste was still there. Using PGA, there is no doubt as to how long you have to wait or if the aftertaste will diminish. "No aftertaste at all" is a better proposition than "maybe no aftertaste if you wait long enough".

Darn it! wish I could notice this horrible aftertaste so I can go spend 15$ on a bottle of everclear instead of 2$ on rubbing alcohol. Guess Im doing it wrong how do you do it so I can get the same crappy after taste?

I'm the opposite. Once I discovered how clean clearo's tasted compared to the filler-based cartos, there was no turning back. Got a bunch of new ones still sitting boxes I doubt I'll ever use.

I've tried clearos, and the hits I got were too "Clean..........". I do not know what it was, it was almost like the flavor was sterilized. I prefer cartos, and just won a Smok DCT tank from MVS, to get a feel for what a carto tank is all about. If you are sure that you are never gonna use the cartos, maybe you could PIF to some new vaper (hint: some new vaper who quit cigs 6 weeks ago and prefers cartos).

LOL. I probably have less than 10 new ones. Mail cost would probably equal the value of the carts. If I had more, I would definitely PIF.

I use cartomizers along with carto tanks almost exclusively. I have found them to be reliable. I have a kanger T3 and a protank (clearomizers) and I have experienced both of them while they are working good, but it never seems to last. It works good for a few hours, and then I almost always get a metalic taste coming through. I've tried removing wicks, which seems to help a little, but it still doesn't beat a cartomizer.

I agree that the flavor with a clearo is more "pure" when it's working correctly, but I actually prefer the flavor that comes through with a carto, and that flavor lasts a lot longer. Some people think that carto tanks are too much of a hassle, but once you get it down, it's really no big deal at all. I can have a new cartomizer primed, punched, and installed in a tank in probably around 7 minutes. And then I don't have to change it again for another 5-7 days. I find my protank heads only last a day or two before they become questionable. I should also add that I only use ikenvape cartos. I have found that they work consistently well compared to boges or smoktech brand. I've also never had an ikenvape carto flood. Never.
