I diffinatily woke up on the wrong side of bed, EVERYONE driving thier kids to school this morning drove me nuts it was like they took stupid pills. I was just about in tears i was so mad. And then it happened i smoked a cig. Now im mad at myself but at least im not gonna kill anyone. The sad thing is up till this day i had been 12 days smoke free without even having cravings or missing real cigs, it was like i was gonna snap in a thougsand pieces and someoine turned on a switch and said smoke smoke smoke smoke........ It's ok Ms. Ski
Don't look at it a tradegy or as a horrible thing. If you keep "e-cigs are to totally quit cigarettes forver" menatality. Your really sabatoging yourself. Just look at it, like it's something better to do. Even if you still smoke half of what you were previously consuming, that alone is still a great accomplishment. You really should reward yourself for going this long without a full pack.

Ms. Ski- It really isn't a disaster and you are not starting over. E-cigs are a way to simulate smoking for when we can't smoke. The quitting happens by hapenstance(SP).
I also quit the day I got my first e-cig and for about 4 days afterwards. Then a bad thing happened, family emergency, and for the next week I smoked a total of I think 14 cigarettes. When the emergency was done with I smoked one cig a day for the next week (just before my daily shower) and was right back to non smoking the next week and haven't had another since Nov 24th, 2009. These things happen and that is called LIFE. It happens and we meet it head on and get through the rough patches the best we know how. You are doing a fantastic job and should keep up the good work!!!

Caffeine, sugar, aspirin, maalox, nicotine, marijuana, alcohol, ephedrine, nutmeg, prozac, Flintstone vitamins, animal flesh, ......, twinkies - we are all adults who make measured and carefully considered determinations about what we are willing to put into our bodies. I personally smoked billions of cigarettes over decades, and I shall not become upset if I slide once in a while and have one . . . for me it just reinforces how yucky they taste!

I just had a conversation last night with my sister, she is trying so hard to quit the analogs too, but she started crying about wanting to smoke and cant seem to get a grip on this. I told her it was ok to smoke a cig, just take baby steps and use her pv in between and in time it will happen for her too. I told her not to beat herself up about it.
Well you shouldnt either. It is different for everyone that i can see, but as long as we dont give up we all get there. so forget about your slip, we are all human.

Don't be too upset. I got into e-cigs to try to get away from analogs. At home, I am mostly okay...except first thing in the morning and right after I eat. But compared to 2 packs a day...that's okay to me. I really notice the smell and taste (both horrid...lol) now that I smoke far less. Good job just smoking 1...you will be fine.

As I've said to others before, the journey away from cigarettes is unique for each of us, so don't worry about some artificial boundary of "oh my, now that I use e-cigs I must give up my cigarettes immediately and forever."
Some folks seem to pick up the e-cig and find they don't even want another cigarette. I, on the other hand, decided to see if I could reduce my intake of cigarettes with an e-cig, and for the first two months of vaping I found myself smoking less and less, and vaping more and more - but still smoking when I wanted to, no pressure and no guilt.
Guess what? I haven't had a cigarette since August, not because I told myself I couldn't but because I let my body guide me, and I am now just as cigarette free as those that chose a different path. My goal of being healthier without smoking has been met, and I never had one real moment of discomfort.
So rather than beat yourself up for "being weak" congratulate yourself for the strides you've already made, decide what works for you, and then get on with each new day, grateful for cigarettes not smoked, rather than focused on the ones you may still find necessary along the way. If you find the right mix of models and liquids you'll get there, but in your time not ours.

I slipped a few times during the first month of vaping, mostly because I was using junk equipment, one time because I ran out of juice and had to wait for mail, another because it was new years eve. The nice thing I have found with vaping is even if you slip you can get back on with vaping easier each time. Once I got good equipment and keep up with ordering juice before I know I will run out haven't wanted or needed analogs at all, I actually find the smell of them nasty now, and that last one I had new years tasted like crap.
