ladysolitary85, just wait until you start doing the math and realize how much less you're spending. I've spent quite a bit getting started and wasted money on trial and error with flavors, etc. and now have settled on a device and a couple of favorite liquids.

According to my calculations, it will amount to around $200 a month in savings even though the health benefits of not smoking are worth paying more to me.

Keep up the good work!

So what model did you end up with?

dont get discouraged if you have a couple analogs a day right now that is still a hell of a lot better than 1 1/2 packs a day esspecially the camel wides those are some strong cigs. I smoked them for 4 years before moving to Marlboro 100's.

That's true. I went from Marlboro 100 to Camel Wide Lights off and on for 5 years , but smoked for about 8 lol I know that isn't really that long for those of you guys who smoked 20 even 30 + years.

I'm just glad I've got support from you guys. :D

I'm absolutely amazed - I got a Vapor King last week after doing a bunch of reading here. The first few days I'd get edgy once in a while, so I'd have a regular cig - about 4 a day. After reading about a formula that says you need about 2.5 times the nicotine from an e-cig than from a regular cig (due to losses in the vaporization process), I thought I'd try some stronger cartridges, and those have seemed to do the trick - I'm on my 2nd day of no analogs, and it's been easier than I ever could have imagined. I've carried a pack around in my pocket at all times, and haven't even been tempted to light up. I've been smoking since the Nixon administration and wasn't even really planning to quit - I was just curious after seeing a friend's electronic cigar a couple weeks ago. Crazy!

Best of luck - do whatever works for you.

Yeah you should be careful about that.

I did great at quitting as soon as I got my ecig. 2 days in I smoked half an analog and put it out. Then when I was with friends a little drunk I smoked a cig.

Ive failed twice and I'm in the process of failing right now...have been for the past 2 months. I actually went to order my mom some juice (I got her on them) and then came here and decided to quit. Goin strong 2 hours.

But yeah done overestimate yourself. Im not sure how long you've smoked or how addicted you were, but Ive realized I was and still am a lot more addicted than I thought.

and DO NOT decide you can smoke analogs while your drinking only.

Congratulations, Lady S. It really hits you when you haven't smoked for a month or two and try to smoke a real analog. The funny thing is that they always tasted like that. Our senses were so dull we just didn't know any better. And your sense of smell hasn't kicked it yet, has it? That's another surprise. You can tell a smoker just by passing them in the hallway.

The most important thing you learn on the forum is that everyone's path is different. My first week I smoked at work and vaped at home. I realized that if it can satisfy me for 4 hours, why not 8?

One of the best things I did was order a bunch of flavors (heaven-gifts sells 10ml bottles on the cheap and Johnson Creek has a sampler). My first ever juice order was from bestecigs. Cola, coffee, menthol, chocolate, cherry, and tobacco. The menthol was so clean and crisp, it put cigarettes to shame. I had always smoked menthols, but I'd forgotten what menthol tasted like. And when I realized vaping could taste like Coca-Cola™, I knew I'd found my new love.

A peanut butter and jelly sandwich smells great. But when you light it on fire and smell the fumes, it looses something in the translation! Burning dried out dead leaves and breathing in the smoke it creates isn't the smartest idea in the world.

It's okay to take baby steps. If you're like most people, even smoking one cigarette a day is a miracle you couldn't have ever envisioned. Much less that it happened so quickly.

Being a slave to new flavors has it's drawbacks, too. I'll try anything, but I'm going to be a really happy camper when this 10ml of bubble gum flavor is finally gone! It tastes like I've been chewing the same piece of gum for days! The taste it spot on, but I'm over it.

--Prod Daffy
P.S. My latest love is cinnamon. That is if my co-workers don't stop stealing it! I think I'll try mixing cinnamon with vanilla. What do you think?

Thanks Daffy for the good references on e-juice supplies! :) I think its a good mix, vanilla with anything almost sounds good lol.

Just to update everyone, I'm still using my SE Gold :-( due to finanical crisis of possibly losing my apt next month I have to wait to buy a better e-cig :-( no x-mas gift to me lol its ok though a roof over my head is a little more important right now.

I've been under a lot of stress, with my fiance not working and his unemployment getting cut off put a strain on me. I've been good about the SE Gold so far, but still try to keep a minimum of 4 analogs a day, some days I do go over but not too bad. The only thing that's killing me with the SE Gold is the weak throat hits and the constant burnt taste in the atty. I figured out a temp fix for now though. Even though I can't smoke a analog first thing in the morning anymore w/o feeling sick, the SE Gold isn't kicking the habit to the curb.

Trying not to be discouraged... the day will come... oh yes, the day will come.

Happy dance for LadyS!! WOOT, WOOT!!!

I think, considering where you were before, to where you are now, is quite a journey.

As I've read everyone's post, I can't but help to think that everyone is succesful and a winner. Even if you cut your smoking habit by 1 cig, that's one step closer to being free. That, in itself is a miracle.

So congrats LadyS and congrats to everyone who is making this journey!!!:)

Funny thing, I've been vaping full time now for about 10 days with only taking a few analog puffs once in a great while (and they were tasting worse every day). Tonight for some odd reason I decided to smoke an analog, so I lit it, and even though it tasted terrible, I smoked about 3/4 of it before putting it out. The strange / funny thing is I actually got sort of sick to my stomach, and the taste in my mouth was horrid (this is after smoking cigs for almost 30 years)!
Needless to say, I'm already starting to REALLY hate the taste of an analog cigarette, it was a breath of fresh air to vape my vanilla/555 mix again! I also noticed my taste, smell, and wind are starting to improve. Damn what a shame it would be for these to get banned. :-x

Thanks everyone for your wonderful support! :) You all are awesome people!

*hugs*

I'm still trying to recover being sick (I still have these annoying coughs that's not constant but still frustrating because my throat is sensitive to the vapor... grrr! I want to enjoy my vapor already!!! been 2 weeks of freakin coughing! I'm glad I'm done with the nose issues though.) Still looking into getting a good 24mg liquid, I KNOW that's what's going to kick the habit to the curb.

Grats LadyS! Like you, it's taking me a bit to find the taste of analogs repulsive (smoked my last one Thursday morning and it wasn't good, but tolerable). But I found that after I started vaping on Monday,I havent really craved one since. So, again, congrats to you and I'm sure everyone reading this will keep their fingers crossed for ya!

Side Note: Seeing the title of this thread made me think of this for some reason...
