did 32 Guage 8 wraps with cotton turned out 2.9ohm. This is with KFL+ V2 on a VV mod running 4.8-5V and the Boba Bounty is just chucking flavor and vapes at me sooooo much more then I have ever experienced. only had a pro tank 2 aerotank mega and nautilus experience and wowwwwwww what a difference.

awesome! its def a major change!! check out riptripper on youtube for some new build ideas, some are way out there but some are amazing. like the dual coil build. very nice but its a juice killer lol. welcome to the world of building!

I've already watched all of his videos eventually. I will starting out with basics first I practiced wrapping coils until I got it right before I even attempted to screw one in for the first time wasted a couple feet of kanthal but it was cheap cheap from Amazon. What Guage wire and how many wraps should I used to go to 1.5 ohm range or am I better of where I am right now for the KFL+. I wrapped the 32 Guage on a 1/16

Good for you! It really isn't that hard to get great performance with a simple build from your Kayfun; and I'm not saying that to pooh-pooh your success. The Kayfuns are remarkably adaptable to almost anything you throw at them.

I have tried a lot of different exotic builds with mine, and they all work well. However, I have settled on a 1.8 ohm 30 ga plain 'ole micro coil wicked with cotton for mine. I have found that the extra effort on my part just wasn't worth the slight difference in performance gained. If you like to fiddle with coils and builds though, the Kayfun is a great device to use. Happy building!

So far, I haven't had the desire to go beyond simple, 1.5 ohm or more microcoils with cotton on any of my builds. Taste is phenomenal, and the builds are simple, quick and easy. Quick and easy is vital to me, as I need to coils my hubby' stuff too, plus I have two kids and I'm gone 12 hours a day, 5 days an week at work.

Quick question I see most people mounting the coil at a angle and some leaving it horizontal across the airhole how much difference does this really make and which is the correct way? also I noticed ripp recommended putting the cotton along the walls and other people just push the cotton down on the floor but not jammed into the juice wells... interestingly enough some videos I watched some people said you do want the cotton overtop the juice wells just not jammed into it..... oh the confusion

I orient my coil so that it's horizontal across the deck. I haven't experimented with a vertical coil in the Kayfun yet, but since I'm happy with the performance, I don't really see a need to go vertical unless I get bored and start playing around.

As to the cotton, I run the ends of the coil into the juice channels to about halfway down (or thereabouts).

You want to take care and not jam too much cotton into the juice channels because if you use too much cotton it will hamper wicking when it swells up. Just a little wisp 'o cotton will do the trick.

to ya. Isn't it a wonderful feeling to do something like that yourself and be so pleased at how well it performs? Almost the best feeling in the world.

Can someone recommend a video for a simple easy kayfun build? Im struggling with mine.

this guy does a pretty good job of explaining with clear video this is the one I watched while I built my first. Honestly I think I found screwing the coils down and getting the cotton through harder then wrapping the microcoil itself. Just remember things look larger in the video and the strip of cotton you will actually use is very small piece and roll it at the one end to start it through then slowly pull and roll the other end so it goes through without forcing it you guide it with the roll on the other end.

Yeah, it's funny how little cotton you actually need to get the job done. I wrote about this on another thread, it's almost like you have to convince yourself that that little bit will work right! I think it has a lot to do with the perspective in videos and pictures of build decks you see; they look HUGE, when they are actually very tiny.

I personally mount my coils at an angle, mainly because I believe it makes it easier to secure the leads to the build deck. I don't imagine it makes any difference in performance either way. That's one of the things I love about the Kayfun; it is such a solid platform to build on.
