I'm feeling a little discouraged. I've had my eGo for about a month now. I do like it better than analogs, truly. I've figured out in the last few days how to drip and really like dripping so far. Of the five juices I have, I only like one. I have 6 juices coming from Backwoods Brew and 15 from Vaperite, though...

I've been under huge amounts of stress lately and haven't been able to stop analogs completely. Sometimes I can go 2-3 days without one, and then I start detoxing or just don't feel satisfied by only vaping. I am smoking quite a bit less than the near PAD I was smoking before, but I just want to be done completely. I have stopped in the past using a variety of NRT methods or cold turkey for up to seven months. I wish I was one of the people that had my first vape and then no more. The juice I like is Vanilla 11 mg and I am thinking maybe it just isn't strong enough.

I know everyone is different, and I have read many threads about some people having a transition time of months or weeks.

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? I am hoping that once I get a large assortment of juice to try that it will be satisfying enough to stop analogs completely.

Don't get too down on yourself. I had the same problem. I vaped for a month and I felt like I would always need a couple cigs a day and then it happened... I just realized I didn't need analogs anymore. I spent the whole first day just vaping some 25 mg constantly while just watching TV. The craziest part is it was the day before two final exams and 2 papers due. I was stressed out for sure. I think this was the best time for me to convert because I essentially rewired my mind and body. Instead of getting stressed and immediately stepping outside for an analog, I vape the heck out of that cherry flavored goodness and it definitely did the trick. I did this all throughout the day and I have been analog-free ever since.

I think the best method is patience. Don't worry about when your time to quit analogs will come. It will and stressing about when it will just makes you want them even more. Try and let it come naturally. It may take you a week or a couple months, but it really dawns on you when you truly realize you have found something so much more enjoyable. Good luck, and remember that everyone is different. I know you have read and know that, but it really is key. You just need more time, there is nothing wrong with that. :)

Again, I know this is subjective but would you go higher than 24 for someone who smoked less than a PAD?

sometimes its not the pack a day, its how many how fast, say you smoked 4 cigs in an hour or so, then your body is use to that Nic rush, so sometimes you may need that little bit above 24mg to get that body from craving that point it use to get to, catch my drift, it may not be often so keep a small mix of a 30,32,34,36mg whatever it takes you to get over that little hump that's holding you up, hit that liquid for a little bit then head back down to whatever MG is your main stay liquid. Hope that's helps ya a bit

I third upping the nic level. And this is just my opinion, but don't knock yourself too hard about still going to the cigarettes. It sounds like you've cut back A LOT and that's an accomplishment in my book. If you feel like you have to, vape more! I understand about being under stress and during those times my PV is nearly plastered to my face. I'm not even kidding (although I think it is pretty funny!) I've had days where I've gone through 6mls of juice. It keeps me off the cigarettes and that makes me happy. So, feel free to vape your head if you need to because I sure as hell do!

Don't rush it. If you are going to quit then you need to let it happen naturally. Don't worry about how long it takes. Just think about how many you aren't smoking and focus on the positive. I have to admit that 11mg does seem a little low to start out with. Try something higher and see how that works. If the higher stuff still leaves you feeling like you're missing something after a while then maybe consider some Swedish snus to take the edge off. It has worked wonders for me.

That doesn't seem to really matter. My mom who smoked for almost 60 years stopped completely and she started with 36 mg but that only lasted a couple weeks. She is now down to 8-10 mg after two months. That satisfies her now and she finds the high nicotine too harsh. For about a week she'd have a couple cigs a day, then one a day, then none.

I vape too much if it's lower than 24.

The numbers don't really mean a lot. Just go with what works for keeping you off analongs.

Yea, it's not like the vaping police are going to come knocking on your door.

When I wanted a cig I'd say 'OK, I'll have one tonight' then by night time I'd forget about it. When you want one vape and try to put it off for a little while.

I still think sometimes that I need that cigarette. I mean really need it. Mostly in times of stress etc. I tell myself that I don't need it. Then I vape my stronger stuff and vape a little more.

I am also one of those people who can't leave a pack of smokes in the house. For me it would be one more hurdle to fight.

Great advice throughout the thread about the higher nic juice. I've been at this about a month and I also initially started out with too little nic (12 & 18mg), so I had to vape like crazy to get my fix. Now, I use a higher strength 24mg with the AM coffee and after meals, and use the lower nic stuff for casual vaping. I still carry a single carto loaded with 36mg, in case of severe stress, or zombie attack.

When you want to cut back, you can always mix your high-octane juice with a low-octane of the same flavor. I have a box full of juice and haven't found THE flavor yet either. Until I do, I'm enjoying all of them!

Don't pressure yourself. Like many here, I dropped the analogs completely on day 2, but my wife is part-timing. She still smokes 3 or 4 analogs a day. Every cig she smokes without having to light it is a cause for celebration in my book.

    Cheers,

    Otto

Thank to everyone for all the support and encouragement. I felt better when I was using the 18 mg juice that I had, but didn't like the tobacco flavor. The juice I had ordered was all 18 mg or less, so I placed a THIRD order, this time at Velvet Vapors and got some 24 and 36 milligram samples. The Raspberry Gingerale sounds amazing.

I think the next week is going to be Juice Fest 2011 for me! At this point, I don't really care how much money I spend if there is the possibility that I could stop using analogs completely.

Yep. Up the nic level and make a pact to vape for 10 minutes before you give in. That should kill your craving. The third day was the hardest for me. Once i got past it, i didn't look back.

I am going to do this pact once I have my juice. I think it is a very reasonable suggestion.
