I smoked some pork ribs today while I was staining my deck but forgot to take a pic until half of them were eaten. I did take one before I put them in the smoker.

I simply MUST.... I'd have to be dead to miss this opening...

Ok....Have to comment here on what I just had for dinner. I was in the suopemarket the other day and saw that El Monterey had new Tamales in the frozen section. I am not usually a fan of the frozen mexican genere....but these were actually pretty good. Cooked in the microwave in corn husks the inner shell and filling were quite tasty. I added some enchilada sauce and some low fat shredded cheddar to top them off. These are close to what I have had in a few mexican eateries. Give them a try if you can!

I hope this does not have an adverse effect on my ongoing problem...LOL!

Hitt, thanks for the pic's!
Wiz, if you are having GURD the last thing you want to eat is tamales before you go to sleep! Oh hell make sure you have plenty of hot Jalapenos with it!:p
You know PTJD......The more I think of it the more I believe my Doctor has misdiagnosed me! I am really not having any kind of heartburn symptoms. This is just an AM pain that goes away once I have been up for awhile. I am making an appointment with a Chiropractor today and see if it's just a matter of getting an adjustment. I do have some lower back pain that accompanies the chest pain I have been having. My wife has Gurd and tells me her symptoms are nothing like mine! So here's hoping.

I am just not ready to give up tamales!

Here's to hopin you feel better soon, Wiz....nothing stinks like waking up and being in pain for the first few hours of your day - spoils the ENTIRE day.

If you hurt after you've been asleep a while, maybe take a look at your sleeping routine/patterns, etc... how old's your mattress? Your pillows? Do you sleep on your side, your back, your stomach? It may be that you sleep soundly, in the wrong position, for long periods of time, and you're getting (for lack of a better term) bed sores.

Hey there, Whisky - how's it going over here on ECF? I gotta check out this snails thing which you keep referring to...

Wiz, I hope that you are right. I don't blame you not wanting to give up the tamales. I don't really have problems but sometimes if I eat certain salsa or spaghetti sauce it will give me some heartburn but nothing like what you are talking about. I know you said before that you went and got a new mattress but maybe you are on to something with the chiropractor. Like Vicks said maybe it could have something to do with your sleeping position. Whatever it ends up being, don't give up the tamales.

Wiz, I've had acid reflux problems in the past. So has my Mom. You're symptoms sound very close to some of the things I have experienced. I ended up having my gall bladder taken out, and my Mom had hers taken out as well as having a Hiatal hernia fixed. Be careful if it's you're gall bladder, the results if it bursts are not pretty. And back pain is not uncommon with stomach issues.

Oh, and I still enjoy the firey foods.

Thanks Vicks! I just bought a new mattress and pillow a week ago...Very nice and very expensive! I fall asleep like a baby but still wake up with this pain.My sleeping position is usually on my side...even when I switch that I am still in pain! Your right about it ruining your day!

    Snails......UUGGGHHHH!

Hitt.....I have an appointment with a chiropractor on Friday. Maybe thats all I need...a good slapping around!..LOL!

Hey Skr.....Nice to see you! I kind of eliminated the gall bladder due to the fact I am having no stomach pain and this only happens in the AM. I seriously think it's either back or muscle related. I would have thought differently if my lungs were in bad shape...which they are not thankfully!

Wiz I have only been to a chiropractor a few times but it has worked every time. I wish you much bone cracking relief. Even if it doesn't fix your problem, it will most likely make you feel better.
God...I hope so Hitt! I do have the occassional lower back pain(Most likely from work),If they can fix that I will be one step ahead!

I would bet that your back will feel better. I had some foot and leg pain after I broke my foot pretty badly several years ago and our chiropractor has been able to get it fixed up for me each time. It seems like every couple years it flairs back up and I have to go see her.

Yeah Wiz, the chiropractor we use is a lady. She is probably around 50 and a very nice person who always is able to help relieve my pain. Not that it matters but my wife tells me that she has a female life partner. I am not sure that's exactly the right term but you understand what I'm saying. I really don't care, all I know is that she is good at what she does and that's what is important to me. I was kinda feeling guilty about getting this thread off topic so I thought I would mention that my wife made some really good chicken enchiladas last night along with some refried beans and chips. Yum. I wish she would have made extra so I could have brought some for lunch.
